Because social media and leftist medias have made a great job conflating male rights advocacy with the most unsufferable assholes there are.

I mean, whenever you bring up the feminists who killed men, advocated for global castration of male, worked to tailor the definition of rape and domestic violence to purposefully exclude men from ever being victims, you are met with a wall of "these aren't ream feminists" DESPITE these people self-describing as feminists.

Yet, asswipes like Andrew Taint, Fresh&Fit, etc... are never describing themselves as men's rights advocates, and somehow we are put in the same basket without being able to defend ourselves.

That's an amazing propaganda job that.

I think a massive amount of it is psy ops. I firmly believe there is a dedicated effort by bad faith actors to stir up shit between men and women generally. Be they both farms foreign agencies or straight up trolls, is unclear but what is certain is that there is a focus to divide western men and women from each other. Are there issues? Absolutely. Can they be broken down and beaten? Yes, but by cooperation not division and disharmony. Men and women throughout history have progressed society through cooperation, not by one gender oppressing another. It's simple really, it's social media.

Social media amplifies fake virtue. What I mean is, people in social media only need to pretend to be good people, they don't actually have to be good people.

One of the easier ways to be perceived as "good" is to be a victim, because it automatically makes the victimizer a bad person.

The narrative is that men are victimizers and women are the victims.

Now, that's not to say there aren't men who are victimizers and women who are victims, but the reality is a lot more complicated than that. The problem with the reality is, whoever controls the narrative controls reality.

As long as women continue to feel like victims, they'll continue portraying men as the victimizers.

Note that before feminism was a big thing, men didn't have a problem being cast in the role of the hero and the villain, it's been only in the last few decades that we've seen a shift where men can't be the heroes, only the villains.

Since most of the progress of feminism needs to continue portraying men as the victimizer, anything that exposes that men also suffer jeopardizes that narrative. And so, men's rights continues to be seen as a bad thing.

For the same reason that men throughout history generally did the dying and fighting in war or took the riskiest and most dangerous jobs. In evolutionary terms men are disposable but not women so much. If you had a population of 99 men and 10 women this would not survive and grow as a population of 10 men in 99 women. Even primates and other animals do this protect females compare to males. This is not dragon magic, it's obvious. Reddit and other social media just reproduce in terms of attitude that which is deep in our evolutionary behaviour.

Also, Reddit is generally deeply left-wing with reproduces an emotional rather than reasoned viewpoint. If you're a male, the only way to survive is to disengage, which seems to be happening.

If you read through the answers here, you should be able to find your answer. Most of these responses have in common undercurrents of antifeminism, misogyny, and conspiratorial thinking. The patterns aren’t identical to other misogynistic communities on the internet, but that’s why mras are implicitly conflated with misogynists.

Men are seeing women rise to their positions in society- they feel threatened (not all of course)- the ones that do feel threatened blame women for their short coming and join groups online that will support them (this happens with many groups ie racist ones) what rights have white men ever have to fight for? While this group can sometimes up lift men and give time to mens issues they always do it through clenched teeth adding more to their hatred of women then the uplifting of men.

The reason this gets hate is that-AND I KNOW ITS NOT EVERYONE-a lot of the men here use this subreddit as a woman bashing alt-right 'feminism is manhating' by spreading misinformation about events/topics, using the word 'female' when talking about us, and using black and white "if you're a feminism you're a misandrist" mentality.

Its especially frustrating as this subreddit could've generally been used to unpack how the patriarchy contributes to misandery (such as "boys dont cry") and working WITH feminist groups rather than against (because despite what people have told you, feminist is and has always been about equality between the two genders)

There is practically no pushback in the comments, showing that this post is mostly supported in this community

most posts and comments in this community show a very anti-woman sentiment where women are seen as only useful for sex. Other than that, the average woman is falsely accusing men of rape, sending men to battlefields, laughing at men's mental health, etc.

I am a gender egalitarian who is in this forum to learn more about men's experiences so that I can be an ally. A bunch of the guys on here are making Mens Rights taboo and you can only blame yourselves

Men’s Rights are important because men suffer in our society in a few ways that are specific to our gender.

The reason the world mostly dislikes or laughs at MRA’s is because the vast majority of you have no academic understanding of the machinations of our society. Most of you blame women, feminism, and leftists for the very personal ans anecdotal ways you’re angry, and then pretend that anger is for “men’s rights”.

The world was established and built by men. Upon the backs of men, through the blood sweat and tears of men; for better or worse we have defined this planet for a few thousand years, and to this day still have more representation than women in essentially all forms of power, influence, and wealth. This is why the world is a patriarchy (which most of you openly deny it exists, it’s like talking to flat-earthers).

Until MRA’s get their head out of their ass and advocating for changing the system that’s hurting us (instead of defending the status quo), they will continue to be a joke.
