I tried with a good female friend.

It started with her saying "Ugh, I wish women had more rights!"

I asked her what rights women didn't have that men did, and she went a bit silent, so I pushed her a bit further, and said "you know, men don't have at least 3 human rights that women do....?"

We haven't talked about that since, and it's been a year and a half.

My wife, we have 2 boys. My wife is very aware. Also my neighbor, she has a daughter and two older sons. She doesn’t let her teenage daughter have sleepovers. Not because her sons would ever do anything, it’s the risk of a false accusation that she isn’t willing to take. I think parents with sons are very hyper aware of the attack on men’s rights and the risks associated with being a young male in the current state of things.

Mostly though I don't bother with anyone because they are seemingly incapable of putting their emotions to the side and dispassionately discuss the facts and stat's.

Yeah and most of the time it turns into "I'm a woman therefore I'm suffering" but they seem to be living an easier life than me when we get into most things. My friend's wife is the only woman I've ever actually spoken to about this who realizes that there are disadvantages to being a man, and she doesn't like any of the issues men or women have to deal with. She's actually aware of the shit men go through and knows she has certain things easier in life.

Egalitarianism should be the norm, not demonized by feminists like it all too often is. I've seen feminists get so angry at egalitarianism because "it takes the conversation away from women." 🙄

I am a woman. I find that when I talk to other women about men’s issues, they listen pretty well. I’m in education and am deeply concerned about the Boy Crisis and have brought it up with a lot of women, and other women will hear me out, though they don’t always agree with me about the underlining causes. I think it might be easier for them to hear these things from me, another woman. But maybe I’m just working with open minded people and they would actually listen well to anybody.

Several- but about specific issues, not "men's rights" in general. Those invariably degenerate into "arguments".

For many people, the idea of "it's better to be a victim than an 'oppressor'" degenerated into "it's better to be a victim than to not be a victim", and it eventually came to be a form of status symbol. Asking for men to be seen as equally worthy of consideration is, to their minds, seeking after their precious victimhood points, and they can't have that.

Going over particular points gives much better results. Probably still not great for people in general, but I tend to curate who I talk about these things with.

I have many times. It typically end up with sexist fallacies.

Many women very close to me that have respectful conversations seem to have a lot of feminist propaganda already in them. So they might be able to understand my perspective with respect to certain issues but i feel that it's it's all very shallow.

The saddest part is that some of the women are mother's and carry around the sexism and indifference towards men.

Not all women of course but in my experiences there seems to be a pattern.

I have. With quite a few women. I have encountered one (a therapist) who was already aware of men's issues and was sympathetic. Other than that, none of them seemed at all open minded to the basic concept of having empathy for men.

I've seen some female to male transgender individuals talk about how they were unprepared for the cultural shift they experienced after transitioning. They thought it was very emotionally isolating among other issues.

No. Any unpaid attempt I've made at discussing it in real life has been immediately roadblocked by blind female rage. I had to waste money on a counselor just for them to tell my gf the same exact things I'd tried to tell her. Things have improved since then, but it would have been cool if she could have just considered what I was saying in the first place. That being said, not all women are brainwashed, I just haven't met any of those ones in the wild.

I have had some good discussions with some people on reddit that claimed to be women (they probably were, but Idk for sure since Idk them irl)

Idk but my grandma is a classic woman. She cooks every single day and has been a stay-at-home wife for 50+ years. Before that she was a nurse, so that should give some context.

She's told me since 2013 that there's a war on men. (Predominantly in the media.) Take that as you will.

Yes with my wife. when we met she was a radical feminist because of how badly she was treated by many men in her life and I was convinced that meeting a good woman was not worth the risk of another false accusation or assault but we changed each other’s minds she learned that there are good men who don’t tolerate the bad ones and I found someone who cares about me and wants me to be my best and happiest self. now she supports me in my belief of improving society’s outlook on men and I have a woman in my life I can depend on (other than family they’re great too)

I've had good results discussing this with my on- again/off- again ex girlfriend. To be fair, she already works with troubled youth and multiple juvie facilities, so she's familiar with the problems men face from a young age. We have a kind of reciprocal system where we follow simple rules to discuss gender topics in general (breaking the rules usually breaks the convo too):

1) Listen to understand the other side's problems- not to contradict. If they are presenting it to you, it is something that is a problem to them regardless of the nuances. Don't shut down or express disdain/disbelief out of the gate.

2) Do not enter "venting" territory about whose fault the problem is or how bad the people causing the problems are. Respect that the person on the other side identifies with their gender, make sure you are explicitly not putting anything on them or their gender as a class. Make it easy for them not to misinterpret your point. A personal desire for revenge is a personal problem regardless of what history it's tied to- nobody cares. Don't make it about "what people deserve".

3) Assume good intentions and the ability to learn and grow from members of the other group. No one is wrong for advancing their own interests over others- literally everyone does this, consciously or not. The trick is to harmonize those interests, and not make enemies of each other unnecessarily. Even those activists who are actively causing problems do not necessarily intend evil, and many people will back down from broadcasting extreme positions when they are treated in good faith. Not everyone will agree on everything at the end of the day, but as long as we can respect everyone's fundamental rights that's ok.

4) Don't look at solutions as "zero sum." Do not propose the idea that "xy/xx just need to do better" but look at broader initiatives in terms of social programs, education, funding etc . Where possible, people should be brought UP to the same standard, not lowering the standard. For example, men should have more access to social support, not that women should have less.

These rules have proved very useful to create understanding between us in these areas, and I'm personally very grateful that my ex is working with boys with a genuine respect and sympathy for their position. We still have our differences, but we broadly agree that men's issues being addressed much more adequately will absolutely help the women in their lives as well. I also agree that sexual assault and harassment, regardless of the culpability of "all men," remains a serious problem for women- and something that need to be addressed with a focus on actual perpetrators not random men.

A lot of women at my work were surprised and upset about how men are treated in family court in australia, so yeah i have. A lot have seen first hand what happened to their friends/family members also.

Bearing in mind that I am a woman, I can say that female hostility towards men can vary according to groups. At least in my religious community, without pretending that all of the women are familiar with the subject of female sexual coercion, I can say that all of the ones my husband and I have conversed with have at least been humble enough to relinquish preconceived ideas. The situation can unfortunately be more difficult in secular circles but I have met some there too.

I speak with my wife nearly every day about topics which include the widespread systemic and disavowed discrimination boys and men face in education, as well as the rise of female chauvinism, unjustified anger, and aggression towards boys and men. To provide an easy example, I am a staunch supporter of bodily autonomy and 100% support the right of a pregnant woman to abort within timelines determined by medical experts. But so many feminists who demand and expect that support don’t extend the same concept to male circumcision and I even remember some of them celebrating proposed legislature that would force a man to seek his wife’s permission to get a vasectomy. There is widespread hypocrisy among feminists on the issue of bodily autonomy for women and not men. Her and I navigate the nuances of these moral stances.

But when I was younger I also spoke about these topics with women in my family where I saw a mix of self justified fury and rage from my sisters and broken record no true Scotsman denial that feminism could ever definitionally mean anyone gets hurt from my mom.

I think some older women come from a scary time when they had very little control over their own lives. It makes sense to me why they might feel terrified to the degree that they are unable to acknowledge feminism isn’t benign and has had some serious negative impacts on society and particularly men and boys, when it was the force which emancipated them.

But I don’t have the same understanding or compassion for young women who express similar denial. They didn’t grow up in anything other than privilege relative to their male peers, and so their rage and fury and defensiveness doesn’t come from fear - it comes from having their expectations set extremely high and confusing that for ‘fair.’

I'm a young woman and I've never had a man who could explain to me which objective reasons we have to assume men are being oppressed. The men's lonesomeness epidemics doesn't stem from women but mostly from toxic masculanity. Middle-class and working-class men suffer but that's due to greed-driven capitalism.
