The idea of a man placing another man and not a woman as the recipient of his adoration was clearly SO offensive to gynocentric societies (which is to say, most of them), that various religions decided to prescribe the harshest punishments for this "infarction". It is literally impossible for billions of men to "decenter" women even if they wanted to, because society continues to overtly and covertly punish those who step out of line. We did make some real progress in the 2010s, but with GenZ getting manipulated into conservative horseshit by social media algorithms, things look bleak.
