I'm an INFJ. I don't think NF can handle S types mostly because they're too self centered and neurotic. they need a strong N type to check that behavior.

In addition, as an NFJ, i don't think most men of any mbti can handle us. we're sensual, assertive femininity when left to our devices is the toxic femininity most twerps freak out about. Some random S type likely can't handle that. an STP will check out entirely. A SFP will likely break under us. a SFJ will feel abused and a STJ will drive us to kill ourselves.

I think it's generally best if a couple shares 2-3 letters, and I think N and S are arguably the most important.

I find that I am drawn to N types for friendship but am not romantically or sexually compatible with them. Personally I'm ISTJ and have only ever dated other S types (an ESFP, two ISFPs and my husband, an ISTP). Even though they were all S types, they are types with primary or secondary Se, while I'm primary Si. So there's still some contrast there, but it's not the unbridgeable gap that S/N would be. (The more I learn about MBTI and the cognitive functions, the more I realize that primary or secondary Se is the inarticulable "X factor" that I'm attracted to in men.)

I think SP types could get along with N types better than SJ types. SP types tend to be more "free spirits," more sensual, less rigid. It's the rigidity and rule-bound nature of SJ's that clashes with the N tendency to think outside the box and forge their own path.

Edit: You might find this interesting, although I'm not sure what it's based on so take with a grain of salt. I also think sex should be taken into account; an INFJ woman with an ESTP man is going to a different dynamic than the reverse, for example.

Fuck no!!!! I don’t really put much stock in MB But as a solid N, i find that S is the only truly antagonistic character trait. An extreme ISFP would make me want to shoot my self.

I’ve really only dated ENFPs, ENTPs, and one INTP, one INFP, one INTJ

Honestly it just seems like S types don’t really think for themselves that much, its not my cup of tea

I’m ENTJ and husband is INTP. I don’t know a whole ton about mbti but I do know that my worst relationship was with a moody ISTJ. We thought completely differently from one another, it felt.

I'm the female N and my fiance is a male S. There are other letters in mbti, too... We are usually pretty compatible except when traveling I guess (jk but I'm constantly losing shit and not knowing what's going on so he's the one whose carrying us)

I’m ISFP-A and my partner is INFJ-A. We get along really well. We’re pretty much best friends, who have sex, want marriage, a family, a life together.

It is the xxTx men that I seemingly do not get along with very well. Or women. My mom is an ESTJ and we have a strained relationship. I was friends with another xSTJ woman but we ended the friendship due to lack of understanding eachother.. so yeah. My bestie is an INTJ and we love eachother to death.

I do think sensors and feelers can get along fine, if they both have that F in their mbti thingy.

I’m ENTP and my husband if ISTJ. We’ve been together over 12 years. It works because we have separate lives - different hobbies, interests, friends, etc - and we’re happy with it.

I like that he’s so different. It makes things interesting. It would seem so boring to me if we did everything together.

I'm INTP and my husband is ISTP and it works really well. I feel like our positive differences have rubbed off on each other - I live more in the real world nowadays which I love. I find him very grounding.

I'm an INTP and my wife is an ISFJ. We seem to complement each other well. I don't know much about "stacks," but it seems that these two types have the same stack but in a different order. Mostly to me it seems that we bond over our mutual introversion, and both of seem to work well together, as I'm the thinker and she's the organizer. She's intelligent enough to have good conversations with, and I'm not too stubborn to not comply with her suggestions about how to run our household.
