Please read to the end.

I’ve been thinking about this recently.

I want to initially say that there are certain situations in which it comes out of nowhere and no one saw it coming, but those situations are rare.

Now when I say blame the women, I mean is it fair to criticize the women’s choice of judgement? MOST domestic violence cases don’t come out of nowhere. The women can see that the man is aggressive and gets in fights with other people. And it normally starts small (like a shove or a slap). Then it progresses until the women is beaten up. THIS IS NOT OK. I clearly understand there is no right time to hit a loved one, but my main point is thus:

Most domestic violence cases don’t occur only once. It’s typical that the girl will come back. Now I understand the argument that they are afraid to leave because they will get beat up, and I totally think that’s a valid excuse (these aren’t the situations I’m talking about). I’m talking about the situations where they girl loves the guy. She clearly knows that he will abuse her and she is willing to go back (which I don’t have a problem with). But when she finally decides that enough is enough, she will have everyone on her side. Now I agree she is the victim in this whole scenario, but is there any blame to be put on the female for continuing to go back to the man even though she KNOWS he’s an abusive person?

For example, imagine if I had a pet lion that I loved very much and sometimes he bit me but I didn’t get rid of him because I loved him. Then one day, he eats me. People would call me an idiot and say i should’ve gotten rid of the lion earlier since I know he was aggressive. Is this a fair analogy?
