Much of the criticism of the US' child support system often comes from the claim that it's too much. The sense I get from these commenters is that they have no fucking clue how much it costs (in both time and money) to raise and maintain a healthy child through to adulthood.

PPD'ers.. please give your best estimate on:

1. A breakdown of what you think are all the running and one time costs for raising a child

2. How much time is involved for common tasks of raising (this one might be harder but try
