You've forgotten the emotional side of the brain. It would be the side that stays with a formerly Chadly man even after he's gotten out of shape, has lost his job and doesn't treat her particularly well. Some would argue that such a woman would branch swing immediately, but this is not always the case. A woman has neither a rational nor an instinctual drive to stay with such a man, but she might if she has enough of an emotional attachment to him or to her past experiences with him.

TRP tries to talk about the lizard brain but makes a bunch of assumptions about past humans that are not evidence-based, then present them as fact. For example, the idea that men used to be extremely concerned with sharing resources only with their own offspring, that women selected one mate to take care of them, etc. These underlie all of the behaviors they talk about but there is limited evidence for them.

All of these assumptions only hold once we became sedentary and isolated ourselves into family units. Before that, we were nomads and took care of people based on the whole group. Why would a man care who fathered his child when the group is sharing communal meals and when all the men are collectively responsible for hunting, for example? We don't even know if there was commonly a concept of paternity (several cultures have partible paternity, the idea that a child is made out of the semen of many men). It's not a universal assumption that humans make. And that's just one example. From the "plunger" design of the human penis and his large testicular size for an ape, to potential selection mechanisms within the female's reproductive tract for immunocompatibility, there's a fair body of evidence suggesting that humans evolved for sperm competition, meaning women had sex with several males and the best semen won out. That's not at all in line with the idea of females pledging themselves to one male in exchange for resources, and constructing some giant female modesty ruse while they secretly cheat doesn't make sense in a tribal context where there's little privacy and resources are shared anyway.

The Red Pill's version of evopsych assumes that 1) women pair-bonded for life, 2) resources were shared only among family units, and 3) humans universally understand paternity. You guys aren't talking about a true lizard brain, you guys are talking about a modern Christian morality-based version of evolution that was conceptualized in the early 1900s and that lay people are too lazy to think about. It's honestly very naive. I don't even mind your beliefs as they're relevant in our cultural context, but that fact that you peddle them as biotruths is what gets to me.

My point is Theredpill is more accurate when you make the statement women have the drive to be hypergamous, rather than just stating women are hypergamous.

Occam's Razor states that maybe the women who don't act hypergamous... aren't hypergamous.

We honestly have to examine societies untainted by religion and socially enforced repression of and/or hyperfocus on sexuality to know what we'd naturally do as animals.

Also, men and women exist along a sexual spectrum or two sexual spectrums, however you choose to see it.

Sexuality is fluid. At different times in their lives, different people want to fuck different types of people, at differing frequencies.

We can't speak for men or women (or people who identify as neither) without alienating a metric fuckton of people who just don't work that way.

At this point in the debate, I no longer see it as Red Pill vs Blue Pill, since that implies that Blue Pill has any sort of unified philosophy or principles.

It's more Red Pill vs The World, which makes the argument that much more frustrating since there's a million viewpoints to try and justify TRP against.

TRP may attempt to address the "lizard brain", but to say that the rest of civilized society completely neglects this at all costs, is an exaggeration.

Uh, modern neuroscience has pretty much killed this idea. The basal ganglion, or the 'lizard brain,' is what allows you to 'override' using executive function. The basal ganglion actually does the exact opposite of what you believe it to do, it inhibits motor output which is vital to things such as attentive learning and social behavior.

I would argue that BP women are also thinking with the "lizard" side of the brain... it's just that they want to satisfy a women's needs and drives (resource, security, social status/reputation, etc.) and also the fact that women's needs changes as they age... they'll need a beta or tame an alpha to provide them with resource once their biological clock ticking... They key here is the core argument of BP isn't against RP's philosophy, but they cannot have the implication of women wanting chad and be plated because it'll ruin the SMV for female as a whole.

Close but not quite.

Our lizard brain is focused on survival and reproduction, not love or people.

It is our mammalian brain, our limbic system, that rp focuses on too because that is where our social animal aspect comes in, where love and empathy come in. Probably most of the comfort traits women seek for a relationship derive from here, as well as status seeking and valuing social approval and leadership.

However, much of masculinity also comes from our carnal lizard brain, the propensity for violence and desire for fucking itself.

I'd say rp focuses on both the lizard and mammalian brain over the rational human brain.

Especially because women are greatly influenced by their animal brains, it allows men to bypass their rational brain as you're saying and elicit attraction on the biological level.
