The "boring" girl, hands down. I want stability and mutual warmth, and IDGAF if someone is "sexy" in that way. You know what's really sexy? A girl who will still be there in a month.

All of your descriptors are too ambibguous to have any real meaning. A 10/10 for me is very different than it is for most men I imagine. As in I find most super models to be boring to look at and have slightly more esoteric taste. As for crazy it depends on the type of crazy. I can deal with a lot of shit and find it endearing. I have a huge savior complex but at the Borderline Personality Disorder level I'd peace the fuck out and moon walk out of that relationship. What's fun? I much prefer introverted activities such as reading books to my SO and sailing boats to going out and partying.

In other words I have my own criteria that don't fit in neatly with yours.

Stable, boring average. As long as she meets a baseline attractiveness. Problem is that 5's are often not that attractive these days. They should be, but the amount of women who let themselves go brings down the average majorly.

Stupid question. Both "don't stick you dick in crazy" and "only ltr a chick who adds value to your life" are extremely common and generally uncontested sentiments on trp. For most (or at least many) reds, to date either one would violate a personal standard, so I don't really know what this accomplishes. It sorta feels to me like a less hyperbolic version of asking blues whether they'd rather date a white supremacist or an anti-abortion homophobe and telling them they can't opt out.

That said, if I had to choose, then the boring one, because its more likely to be over once I break it off, while the crazy one if way more likely to ruin your life.

I'll choose the hotter girl. Here's the problem, women are fickle creatures to begin with. And in today's culture where "change" and "progress" are promoted, there is simply no way to insure that the women you date stays the same. In five years time, the only thing about the women you date that wouldn't have changed will probably be the way she looks.

Follow up question, why do younger men initially go after the first category (crazy, hot, exciting in some party way, etc) then many become very broken and bitter versions of their former selves before realizing the long term overwhelming benefits for category two (maybe a little less hot, but stable and loving and able to have more meaning in life, and be exciting in an adventure way, than a party slut)?

It's messed up that these men with their action and personality changes in themselves basically blame and take out their earlier bad choices on these 'good' women in general who have done nothing wrong and are undeserving of such poor treatment.

I pay attention to what men do, not what they say, and I'm positive that the vast majority of the men would choose the hot girl and then deny that she had problems unless they were really obvious and glaring. I've seen this happen way too many times to believe all the guys saying "stability is sexy."
