Why is it irrational for men to want women with lower partner counts, but rational for women to want taller men?

Men and women assess each other differently. This leads to emotional outbursts when the ego is bruised.

Examples: A short man complaining about being an incel due to his height; a slut getting annoyed that men are 'hypocritical' for passing her around but yielding commitment to women with lower partner counts.

How it pans out as 'rational' or 'irrational' depends on whose 'imperative' is supported by the group. In general, it's fair to attack male sexuality these days, and even a slight criticism of women will result in backlash. This is one of the reasons why TRP intentionally dials it to 11.

I think they're both excellent indicators of shallow myopic prospective partners. Beyond desiring a reasonable level of attractiveness (i.e. does this person do the best with the natural assets they've come off the lot with - fit, stylish, well groomed, etc) Anyone who doesn't ascribe more value to depth of character, merit of someone's accomplishments, agility of wit and propensity for compassion and passion... Well, they're doing you a favor by disqualifying you in the first place with their arbitrary metrics. Both parties who subscribe to these criteria are probably not necessarily the greatest of catches.

Kind, funny shorter guys become awfully tall when they turn their intriguing attentions your way and confident, attractive girls who love being intimate with reciprocally respectful partners and who have also meticulously guarded both their own health and the health of said partners through the emphatic practice of safe consensual sex also make for rather passionate and thus appealing mates too.

Everyone is entitled to all the weird hangups and judgements they like -- while the rest of us are off living interesting, experiential existences connecting with good, solid quality people.

Taller men are simply physically attractive . It's the same with men who want women with big boobs.

I think women (and men actually) with lower partner counts are more appealing because people see them as more likely to be stable and loyal.

People saying individuals can not have preferences seem ridiculous. Probably upset that they lost the genetic lottery and they are not desirable.

I don't think these two comparisons are necessarily equal, and therefore can't really be compared. However, I think the issue isn't the men who want a woman with a low partner count, it's how some of them treat women with a high partner count. If you want a woman with a low partner count, go for it, but don't mock a woman for not living the way you want her to ("Slut" "whore" "on the cock carousel" "unable to bond"). It's the same for woman wanting to date taller men. Wanting a taller guy is great, but she shouldn't berate men shorter than her by calling them anything derogatory.

Well, I don't think anyone has ever claimed that women's supposed exclusive preference for tallness was "rational" maybe they claimed it was "natural" but that's not the same thing. It's about as "rational" as preferring orange to blue, and I care about it about as much.

At least it's not hypocritical like the chastity preference generally is, although even in that case I don't care as long as the person in question can realize that their feels don't actually mean anything about the value of the person they're judging, because let's be honest, most people who say it's just a preference don't treat it like that, they treat it like the alleged sluttiness actually makes the girl "less-than" as a human, and not just "eh, someone I personally don't want to date."

...as a side note, is this height thing really such a huge problem? I'm the same height as my father* and as tall or taller than most men I meet. Eh. I've personally never had a problem with guys being the same height or shorter than me, I actually would prefer they were not taller (or that much) than me. It's never come up as that much of preference with my friends, either. In fact, I had a co-worker recently who always wore these majorly tall stilettos in the office because she "Didn't like being shorter than men." All anecdata, of course, just to say I really have never noted this supposed overwhelming preference. I figured most women end up with taller men because most men are taller than most women.

*Not as tall as Mom, tho. Drat.

women with high partner counts cannot pair bond are a pain in the ass to handle and are carrying the genetics of all the guys they have been with before, meaning any child you have from her is carrying the blood of all those other guys too. women wanting a tall guy is a preference.

Men don't necessarily want women with lower partner counts - men with lower partner counts will tend to want women with lower partner counts too.

This whole "Women only want tall men" circlejerk bothers me. I have been turned down by guys that I have had amazing chemistry with because I am taller than them, whereas height isn't something that I even consider when it comes to physical attraction.

When I hear guys make this claim, that women only want tall men, it hits a nerve. From my experience I could say that men only want shorter women. I'm not even tall, 5'8 but guys seem to want someone shorter and that is fine, we all have our preferences but don't complain about how women only want tall men when you guys aren't willing to date a woman who is taller than you and sees you for more than just your height.

Women want taller and men want shorter - so those two things cancel each other out.

Men aren't insecure if they want a partner who has slept with just a few partners. He's insecure if he goes trumpeting it around. The only reason a man would have for trumpeting it is because of a need to put others down in order to feel better about himself.

Women aren't insecure if they want a man who has only had a few partners. She's insecure if she goes trumpeting it around, for the same reasons as above.

shrug I don't want a short man or a man who has had 50 sexual partners. So whatever. I've got a low count and if I was on the market again I'd stay quiet about it and try to encourage people to assume I was average. That's because yes I do see people who are OK at coping with normality as being more secure in themselves in general.

Some of the people who set the standard at virginity, now they are observably odd people.

I think if so long as you are happy to be held by the same standards by which you judge others then it isn't really irrational. I think that not allowing yourself to fall in love with some who has previously had many sexual partners is just as irrational as not allowing yourself to fall in love with someone who is short, but that's just me.

Because women are better at the game then men. They recognize their faults, and stick together to convince men that they are not really faults..

Ex. The day acceptance movement, they know men don't find fat attractive so they put forth effort to convince us that we do.

Maybe men should start a height acceptance movement (it's the inside that counts ladies)

my 2 cents on the subject, you can choose to sleep around and if you're safe that's fine, but people will form opinions.

you can't control your height unless you go through some drastic and illegal (for safety) surgeries. but regardless of your height being the fault of genetics, you will still have people forming opinions about your worth.

to add to that though, why not compare the same thing rather than two things with an obvious and loaded answer?

Female promiscuity is positively correlated with marriage failure (which make promiscuity isn't). (Most men have no problem fucking and chucking sluts.)

Male height is positively correlated (to a small but significant degree) with male earnings.

I suppose it depends which motive is less dishonorable: wanting one's wife to be faithful, or wanting one's husband to earn more money.

Who said it is rational for women to want taller men? It is what it is. Obviously it is unfair, as it is something you cannot help, but you cannot really influence people's desires.

I don't think most men care about partner counts, it is a RP only thing. I would say, many men including myself dislike women with overly slutty clothes or being too flirtatious, but aren't particularly attached to a number, it is a bit "too conscious", desire isn't math, it happens in the hindbrain, not really much of a choice.

A consolation from a tall guy to short guys: it takes less time for you to develop good looking muscles.

I think sex and the height of a woman's partner are two very different things. The tall thing is a preference while the other not so much.

Men are called insecure because there's really no reason to want your partner to have a low number. Men can be very insecure about a lot of things regarding sex, like dick size, whether they last long, etc, so it's like all that shit goes through their head when they find out their partner's history. It isn't your partner's fault you're insecure.

Also generally guys are taller... I'm 5'2 unfortunately so pretty much every guy I come across has been taller than me.
