First: Language is important, and far from arbitrary. It shapes and reflects our thinking, at the individual and societal level. This is not controversial, and there's tons of evidence for it.

Okay, moving on.

Often, I'll see a BPer object to a RP principle based on its apparent moral issues, only to have a RPer will argue that they're just reacting to the word itself. "Negging is just playful teasing", for example. The thing is, it doesn't just happen for one term. It happens over and over again. (Not all of these terms originated with the red pill, but they're still used)

I find RPers asserting that these are just neutral descriptors...but I find that hard to believe. It's no coincidence that it's call "dread game" instead of "showing-yourself-to-be-a-valuable-person-so-your-partner-wants-to-keep-you technique".

We've all heard "slut" thrown around as a contemptuous insult used to denigrate women who aren't sufficiently virginal, for example. It makes it very hard to take a comment like, "'Slut' isn't an insult. It's a value-neutral term used to describe a promiscuous women that can be used for sex but aren't good for long term relationships (which doesn't apply to men because biology)." Despite the moderate language and reasonable tone, it's the same old prejudice.

Let's just look at the connotations of these terms...

  • Cock carousel: Women are having the time of their life having as much sex as they want (making them sluts). Hard not to see an undertone of jealousy when its used in certain contexts.

  • Dread game: A technique to play with your partner's emotions by making them fear losing you, instilling insecurity.

  • Dark Triad: Attractive=Evil for men. Women like evil.

  • Negging: Women need to be brought down a peg to make them attracted to you. Comes from "negative".

  • Alpha fucks, beta bucks: Women are deceitful, using men for money while cheating on them for assholes.

  • Slut: A woman worthy of lasting attention doesn't sleep around; a woman who sleeps around is lesser. (Unlike men)

  • Rationalization Hamster: Women are stupid. (Unlike men)

  • The Wall: Women become worthless after they aren't attractive. (Unlike men)

Again, connotations matter. They're part of meaning. Why this kind of language? I think just about anyone looking at these terms and their definitions would get the impression those using them had a serious problem with women.
