I guess it depends on how bad it feels to decline from the peak. For some, they will have your positive attitude and think "hey, I'm still doing pretty good out there." While others will pine for their good ol days. Definitely not a phenomenon restricted to women ..like imagine athletes who have all this adulation and what not and then one day it all ends.

Honestly, I think the whole debate is ridiculous, in part because humans are kinda varied. All the PPD discourse about women, age, options, "power", etc., is using a definition of "woman" to mean "slim hot chick who had a good, well-off childhood, went immediately to college after high school, and was always sociable and outgoing." Change even one of those variables, the picture changes. But funnily, for a sub that is SO AWARE of late-blooming guys and young guys with various hangups and issues, the idea that their might be women out there who are also like that eludes them.

The wall as used by reddit ~~incel~~manosphere subs is pretty much just schadenfreude for low quality men to laugh at low quality women or women who get divorced while still on the young side (well they laugh at the ones who get divorced older too).

The wall though isn't just that women's dating becomes harder, its that now they have to consider low quality men, since high quality men of the same age have more options.

As a man in his 40's with a successful carrier and having maintained my physique and looks I could very easily snag a still attractive 30 something of quality, and hot 20 something with issues. That is something a woman in her 40's in the same situation would have a harder time with. Especially when you add on kids she may have.

The wall is real, it hurts women more than men in terms of SMV and especially RMV, but the guys that could take advantage of it fully didn't need it in the first place.

I think “the wall” is no longer a relevant concept in a world where half of American young people are unpartnered. I think this is a relic from a world where being married with a couple of kids by 30 was the standard, and you were a weirdo who lost the game of musical chairs and were doomed to spinsterdom if you didn’t. Western dating culture has dramatically changed in the last 50 years, and the data also just don’t support this. People partner up at all stages of life — people in their 30s, 40s, and beyond get divorced and remarried all the time, and even people in nursing homes find love.

I’ll say that if you’ve ever been a single, twenty-something woman, you know that the dudes 10-15+ years your senior who are specifically looking for someone your age tend to be emotionally immature, insecurely attached, and manipulative. (I’ll also note that most 40-50+ men don’t age like George Clooney, but have receding hairlines and beer guts.) Emotionally healthy people are looking for someone they can relate to — their equal who makes them feel seen and understood — rather than just the most attractive possible breathing fleshlight they can find. I don’t think you can accurately make capitalistic analogies about “market value” in situations where two people aren’t just trying to take from each other, but are genuinely trying to forge a bond with another human being.

Are 20-year-old women more attractive than 30-year-old women? I mean, I guess, but attractiveness is relative. If you’re a 40-year-old, established, educated professional genuinely looking to feel less lonely and enjoy a meaningful connection with another person, you’re more likely to find that in a woman your age than a sorority girl.

Honestly I never believed in the full concept of the wall mainly because of personal experience in seeing how well elder women around me do in the dating world. From what I see you literally just have to look youthful, not let yourself go, and you will have options no matter the age. My grandma is turning 70 in November and is getting engaged. She looks about 50. My mother looks 25 and is 40 and also had zero problem dating in her 30’s. I can name more examples but I just seriously don’t see the whole “after you turn 30 nobody wants you!!” Aspect to ever be true.

It's a revenge fantasy. Loser men see women as bullies for not choosing them. We all like to think that our bullies went on to be miserable and alone, but we really know deep down that's not the case.

My worst bully grew up to be a professional athlete and successful business owner. I saw him in a fitness magazine once. I could try to convince myself that he's probably sad and lonely IRL, but that would just be sour grapes. He's probably very happy.

I'm gonna disagree. The life of the average guy past like 25 is vastly different from college age. I'm in that range and can see it. I can also see a lot of women who don't really have options and don't know what to do since they never had to work for it.

A woman from 18-25 has the most options ever. Then things are about equal until loke 30 or 35. Then it goes to the man easily. The peak isn't as high but the lows aren't as low.

It's a numbers game. When you're young, men from 18 to 80 will try to get in your pants. As you get older, the field narrows to mostly men your age and older. Also, there are fewer single men as people naturally pair off. (Some will reenter the marketplace after divorce or death of a spouse.)

Women who remain attractive (physically and situationally) will have options at any age. It's like the punchline to the old joke, "I don't have to outrun the bear; I just have to outrun you!" You don't have to be great; you just have to look better than most of your competition, lol.

If you read any glossary (including PPD glossary) You will find that the wall consider only the steep decrease in RMV and SMV of women.

Yes, many women will have a RMV and SMV higher than most men on average, however, she will most likely not change her behavior accordingly Thus, leading to unhappiness, and failure on the market.

So yes, average guys have worse market potencial than 30 something women, but those men also have higher success rate too. They never were spoiled.

I would seriously recommend reading the glossary next time, or just avoiding the topics you don't know... as you said it yourself....

In real life I see very few single older women.

Nature is a bitch, huh? Women look their best when they’re at their most fertile, it isn’t rocket science, this is when they are healthiest and have the best chance to have healthy offspring. It’s evolution. Men on the other hand just need to spread the seed, however, historically most men did not get to breed at all. In the male world - only the strong survive. Many men don’t even get to play. So yes, the Wall is a physical indicator of health and beauty, but women judge men on a regular basis purely on physical looks as well, don’t pretend women don’t do this.

I think you're somewhat right. Single middle-aged women are always going to find single or divorced older guys who are interested in them. As they get older, though, the quality of these guys is likely to be not as good, as the highest quality ones will be taken. This is likely why many women, once they are divorced, don't try to get remarried, while divorced men seem more likely to try to do so.

The wall for women is like luxury import cars. For men is like economic cars. Both are at its best when it's physical best when they just got made. Luxury import cars requires a lot of work to be maintained; but if you put time/money, the value stays and be always be wanted by a certain population. The group is smaller but they appreciate it more. If neglected, it will just be an old useless car that can't drive anymore and no one wants it.

For economical cars, they are an ok choice early on because the price range isn't exorbitant. There's no 'wow' factor, but it works. Over time, econ cars depreciate in value, but because they are easier to maintain, they don't drop as fast. For some who don't have a lot of assets, they might even choose a 5+ years used car due to its cost/benefit efficiency. However, like import cars, if you don't put time to maintain it, it also goes into junk yards.

It is true that celebration of the wall is rooted in bitterness. The realization of mans relative sexual worthlessness is a journey thru red pill rage that he must endure. He knows that, even though womens sexual value declines, he had almost none in the first place. It's a feeling of inadequacy and resentment. Of smallness and weakness. I’m not jealous or resentful of women who spent their peak years drugging their bodies into infertility then pissing their BC into the water supply so they can have reckless drunken sex all over the place.
