It's bad in the sense that..

The sex is not realistic, young men without proper sexual eduction risk doing thsee moves on women and disapointing/traumatising them. Doing anal and facials without consent, not paying any attention to the clitoris and not knowing what a female orgasm is are just a few.
As TRP says - it does waste time and energy that could be better spent actually acquiring sex.
The por industry is dark and riddled with abuse/addiction and vulnarable people.
It's changing men psyches in an unhealthy way. Someone studying psychology could probably answer this better, but it basically rewires mens brains a certain way and hinders their ability to have normal sex.
Like other addictions it can be problematic.

I don’t find the concept of filming sexual acts to be bad, but I am aware of the abuse and negative aspects surrounding the porn industry. This is why I’m typically more drawn to the amateur, filmed on a phone, style porn.

It is bad because it's overstimulating and all over stimulations are distracting you from actual meaningful and rewarding things, and makes you generally less motivated and less driven. Like anything it can lead you to depression.

On another sidenote, it appeases my polysexual tendencies. I've tried to quit porn and try to have healthier masturbations habits but I started getting pretty strong incentives to approach and flirt random women and it felt very frustrating and was just plain bad for my relationship. And your wife isn't always available for you and even if your libido rises due to no-porn and no-fap you end up frustrated more than anything else.

I don't think porn is inherently bad. Learning about how porn is made and abuses in the industry are problems. But paradoxically sometimes porn being "bad" can just make it more exciting.

It's also important to consider how porn can affect relationships. Using porn can divert sexual energy from your partner. If that happens, it's harmful to the relationship. But porn can also add a sexual outlet to vent frustrations which can help protect the relationship. After the kids were born my wife was completely disinterested in sex for a time. I think a large part of what built my misery was that masturbation and porn use always brought massive feelings of guilt and failure (I've come to understand that as results of religious upbringing). Learning to accept both porn and masturbation as healthy has helped a lot.

I do think it's important to understand why women say they don't like men using porn and respond to those complaints rather than dismiss them.

One aspect is it's fantasy. It allows me to explore things my wife isn't interested in exploring. There are things that excite me in porn that I would never in a million years ever do or want to do in real life.

I have watched porn in the context of spicing up the bedroom with a partner. I do not watch it otherwise. I think most of it is boring and/or stupid and I don’t really enjoy close-ups of genitals. There is a lot to be said for leaving certain things to the imagination. I don’t care is my partner watches it, I think most men do anyway. As far as is it bad? You hear a lot of horror stories about people who got into the porn industry, some by choice, some by coercion by a boyfriend or husband. It seems to be an industry that fucks up its “stars.”

Men watch porn more often than women because women are not as visually stimulated. That’s why there’s a stereotype that women read a lot of erotica.

As someone who used to do porn, it is objectively gross. Women don’t go into porn because they had a great childhood. Women don’t go into porn because they like themselves. The reality of it is very very sad. Amateur? Knock yourself out.

I don’t think people who watch porn are bad people. I do it too if I’m not in a relationship.

For women, especially "woke" and "feminist" women, porn is the reason everything goes wrong.

He's not sleeping with you anymore? Couldn't be that you gained 75 pounds, fight every day, developed halitosis that would bring tears to a statue, or whatever. MUST BE PORN.

I do belive that porn played a big role in sexual preferences of todays men. But I live in Poland so the situation here might be different than in the US.

I only had two sexual partners because of the kind of sex guys seem to want these days. My ex tried to tie me up, wanted anal sex, liked to slap my ass even though Itold him that I hated it. He liked to tell me that I needed to relax and let him do it. I dated another guy for couple of months but we never slept together because I was afraid that he would want to have rough sex with me. I could tell just from the way he would talk to me me while kissing.

Now I'm with my fiance and I'm super lucky because he is not interested in porn-like, anal/rough/degrading sex. He very rarely wathces porn and when he does, it's just normal fucking.

A lot of my female friends have this problem with their husbands and boyfriends. They argue about anal sex, hair pulling etc. They don't want that, but their men act like they should just let them do it because "it's normal".

Yes, porn is bad. It degrades and objectifies women, it normalizes sex acts that are dangerous and unrealistic, the industry treats the men and women within horribly, it fuels sex trafficking, men are experiencing PIED because of it, just like amazon, it has the effect of artificially raising “standards” and entitlement because you can see every sex act, every woman anytime you want, it doesn’t focus on a woman’s pleasure, it makes men lazy in bed, and getting off to a naked woman while you’re in a relationship is questionable behavior to me.

I don’t watch it

I am happy with my sex life in the fact that I love sex and don’t allow anything to taint my view of it. I only fantasize about my boyfriend and the things that would be mutually enjoyable for the both of us. All of my fantasies and thoughts are my own, grown out of a natural sexual desire and understanding of what I want. I view sex as something extremely special and intimate between two people, something worth putting in effort for because you reap great rewards and I won’t satisfy this desire with any substitute. It leads me to have a boundless energy in viewing each time as a new time.

I am deeply unhappy with my sex life in the fact that I’m afraid I won’t find a guy who views sex/values it in the same way. I care a lot about my current bf but I know he watches porn weekly, and I get the sense that he views sex as a chore, something that takes effort and something that is just easier to “achieve” solo. He can be pretty lazy in bed, and doesn’t focus on my pleasure half as much as on his... he’s suggested sex acts too that I know he’s gotten from porn and he doesn’t put much effort into foreplay. My previous boyfriend I’m convinced had PIED because he could barely get it up or keep it up. When he did, he was never able to finish. Not from sex, not from blowjob. Solely from handjob... and a very long one at that, even when he did it himself. He had “death grip”. I didn’t understand what was happening at the time so outside of thinking it was connected back to me, I didn’t think much of it.

My outlook on this issue is not great. And it sucks because I don’t think I’ve done anything wrong. Hurts to hear “every guy does it”. Doesn’t help convince me of the argument. Hopefully people are starting to realize though.

Yet in defense of porn, men on reddit will say that masturbation is different from sex because “sex takes work sex is effort you have to think about someone else’s pleasure. Porn also makes men unmanly. Men are not as motivated or confident to approach women because they’re used to seeing attractive women in porn with ugly ass guys, or “no one wants to see or hear the guy in the frame”, OR they’re looking at huge dicks and feeling inadequate. Porn also encourages men to indulge in fantasies where women are being choked, or slapped, or otherwise hurt and degraded.... but masculinity is about protecting and providing, taking care of women and children. Not dominating them or abusing them... any guy who takes pleasure in choking a woman is unmanly in my opinion.

In addition, the lack of self control against nature (wanting to experience “variety” by viewing multiple naked women) is unmanly, as is turning down an opportunity for a real sexual connection in favor of viewing two people having sex instead.
