Sexual attraction ebbs and flows over time. It can also be hard to drum up once you get past the "honeymoon" phase and become more comfortable with each other. If you don't actively work to date / romance / flirt with your spouse and start treating each other like best friends / roommates then that sexual attraction can dry up right quick, especially if kids are involved.

It takes two to tango - both partners are responsible to each other for keeping that flame going.

Depends on the age. I'd wager most 25 year old wives are attracted to their 27 year old husbands. As both husband and wife get older that attraction likely diminishes. How many 80 year old women are still sexually attracted to their 82 year old husbands? The years in between are going to be a gradient.

I couldn't say what percentage is the norm, it also depends on things like culture, relgion, location, age, etc.

When it comes to sexual attraction between me (40+, Western Europe, not religious) and my wife (40, Southern Europe, religious) , we both still have frequent lust for each other where we both initiate and flirt with each other while taking care of each other's needs and wants in the bedroom.

She likes to dress up in sexy lingerie for me and surprise me while I flirt a lot with her during the day. She loves my caveman attitude in the bedroom and she has stated numerous times I make her feel like an attractive woman (which she is, both in body and in mind).

For my perspective is that being and/or staying sexually attractive as a guy for your gf/wife also means staying attractive in general and that is your responsability.

Based upon RL experiences from other couples who broke up or got divorced; sexual attraction mostly became an issue because it was the guy that lost his general attractive qualities (not talking just physical attraction) during the course of their relationship/marriage.

I would advise a guy to never stop flirting with his wife/gf nor to let go of his identity, having healthy boundaries, to stay honest to your values and not being afraid of conflict (when others go against it), to make sure he has his sh*t in order and/or has the capability to take care of his own and/or his family's problems with the goal of providing stability, security and commitment towards yourself and your family.

From my experience so far, guys who marry are either desperate losers who are so sex starved that they resort to desperate measures and believe marriage is their only way to poon land, or naive idiots who are in the green career and finance wise and think he won't face the brunt of divorce rape by the gynocentric society around him. You can't save bluepill cucks from themselves so they have to face the music to learn their lesson.

If divorce rape statistics are any indication, I would say more than 70% of married women lose attraction for their husbands by 7 years. Married women are notorious for penny pinching in terms of picking on small imperfections from their husbands and use that shit against him like police and miranda rights.

No clue about marriage, but:

From what I’ve seen, vast majority of LTRs are based on foundations separate from attraction for at least one of the parties.

However, that can mean that the guy likes the women as an LTR for other reasons while she adores him sexually as well. Doesn’t need to be the woman who isn’t into the man (even if it typically is).

Thinking it over quickly... maybe 1-in-4 LTRs that I know about feature a woman who’s very attracted to her man. Ironically I’d say in about 3 of 4 LTRs the man is very into the woman. Sadly the most common LTR set-up seems to be a pussy-whipped male and a demanding woman. It’s not everybody, but it’s a lot of people

I think the question overdoes it, making it harder to discuss the potential gender asymmetry he is presumably after.

Lust of course wanes in any relationship, perhaps making some return visits from time to time if you are lucky. And both genders are capable of feeling physical attraction to someone when they also do not find that person the most attractive person in the world. If that weren't the case, almost nobody with an internet connection would ever have voluntary sex.

One, of several, ways to phrase the real question is what percentage of married men vs. women would still choose sex if they somehow had the magical option to forego sex in the relationship entirely, but magically continue to have everything else keep working out. Another way to phrase it it would be which % of married men vs. women still have enough raw attraction to their partner that they actively desire sex with them on a regular basis for purely physical reasons, i.e. not to maintain intimacy or to appease the other etc.

And yes, I think that here you would see some gender variance. You would also see a lot of gender overlap, but there are more women than men who lose that desire for their partner. And even if your study controlled for things like marital stress, men failing to do enough domestic or emotional labor, sexual skill, etc. the gap would probably still be there.

There are probably many reasons for this. Primarily, men have a stronger raw sex drive with respect to having lower attraction level thresholds, either in absolute or relative terms, for being able to summon enough desire for a person to make them want to have sex with them. That seems fairly established by science. Other possible factors venture into areas where research may be more conflicted. A lot of new research suggests that while men chase sexual novelty and variety more than women, women may actually NEED a base level of it more than men do just to maintain basic arousal. The aspects of hypergamy relating to the fact that women do compare men to other men in a more meaningful way than men compare women to women can also be at play, etc. There are probably other factors, as well.

Anyways, sorry for the long post. This was my best attempt at a meaningful answer to what I think the OP was really trying to get at.

If I would have to guess, I would say only 10%. Probably lower than that. You won’t believe how many married women I witness online flat out admitted they cheated or “fell out of love” all because they they didn’t find their partner attractive anymore (possibly due to him letting himself go and not taking care of himself). Not to mention, women only marry out of peer pressure or only to gain access to a man’s resources but that doesn’t mean she finds him sexually attractive.
