I’m almost in my late 30s and have been (willfully) single for a LONG TIME. I guess I had used my gut this whole time without knowing because men have always been a disappointment to me and I had wondered if it was just me. I was always more stressed out, more angry, more depressed whenever I was in a relationship with one.

I would love to get married and to have kids but I’ve been holding out because most of the men I meet are either ugly or are hot but irritate the fuck out of me. Or they’re ugly AND obnoxious (which is most of the time!) Random men should not piss us off this much. You would think that even a simple exchange of words with a random man would be neutral. No. It’s always some 3 act drama

37, checking in. If I had FDS in my early 20's I could have taken over the world. I'm so happy for all the younger queens here learning how to kick ass!

As for myself, in the past couple months since I discovered this sub, I have found my standards, cleaned my apartment, taken steps to switch careers, strengthened my healthy friendships, and become a better parent. I'm definitely making up for lost time, and the future is bright!

I’m 48. Starting over after my husband died. Slipped back into old habits in the immediate aftermath, but at the 6month mark, something clicked and I’m back on track. I’ll be moving in a year and a half, and I’m glad I found my way back before then. Where I’ll be living is a smaller community, and it’d be hard to bounce back from being a total pickmeisha if that’s how I was at the beginning.

Yep! 34 and not interested in dating anymore. I only found FDS at the beginning of the year and it’s been a Godsend. Validating all the feelings I’ve had, making me value myself more, and not wasting so much time on men. I love seeing all the younger gen of women putting themselves first and keeping their standards high.

Girl Yes! 42! I was in a long term relationship and was a pick me through my 20s and even into most of my 30s. Good news is at my age you have A LOT of it figured out and know what you want and dont want but we are always learning to navigate different phases in our lives as we get new information and want and need different things. Right now I need to not be in a relationship and focus on myself. Being a pick me for so many years I never really learned how to actually pick ME!

34 (but I feel like all my experience should count as 60 to 80) here and while I like to think I had some FDS worthy traits to begin with, it all clicked for me when I found this sub. I quit trying to date at the beginning of the year before covid hit, and frankly I've been much happier since. FDS has helped me identify patterns from my dating past that still bug me, explain them so I can move on and hopefully recognize the signs a lot sooner if I ever start dating again.

40 here, and my life is littered with examples of why FDS rules are so important. I think I've broken every one at least once and suffered the consequences, so there's reasons for them! They will protect you from a lot of bullshit men and abuse that'll waste your life.

I'll still make mistakes, I'm certain, but I'm so glad I found FDS. I wish I had 20 years ago! I'm recently single and I'm trying to figure out what I want, but definitely no LVM!
