Hello all,

This is my first post here. I’m pretty new to the whole red pill scene, and although it sounded a bit far out I decided that I would give the sidebar a read. As I read I went through stages of shock, some acceptance, and then some deeper, philosophical questioning. The more I thought, the more certain ideas began to remind me of my problems with the feminist movement.

In my opinion, the modern feminist movement expresses (although of course not directly) a deep-seated hatred of men, of individualism, and holds ideas antithetical to the foundation of western culture. But as I looked closer, how different is TRP?

Feminism treats all men the same: purveyors and supporters of the patriarchal oppression of women by dint of their birth with a penis. The essays in the sidebar of TRP, particularly the manipulated man, seem to treat women similarly: as manipulative and ultimately lazy enslavers of men by dint of their birth with a vagina.

These view both seem to view men and women as essentially different species on opposite sides of a war. Yet I believe that the individual is the ultimate level of analysis, and science should back me up here: it is well documented that men and women have differences, however they are also more similar than they are different. The group differences between men and women along the dimensions of personality and intelligence (which is the same for men and women, sorry Esther Vilar) are small compared to the individual variability.

The foundational belief undergirding our society and legal system is that people make (and should have the freedom to make) individual choices. Though some men may choose to “oppress women” and some women may be “rampant hypergamists” I believe that most do not, and living by such a radical claim is certain to be damaging to the individual and to the broader society.

Obviously these are generalizations, but based on my readings in both of these sectors I thought it would be interesting to start a discussion. As an individualist I must believe that not all Red Pillers and not all Feminists think like this or perhaps even realize the way these ideas come across to others. So what are your thoughts on this matter? Let’s talk about it.
