Being creepy does not have to do with appearance unless you don't take care of yourself and stink but in this case people in general will think you are creepy. There are behavioural traits that make someone look creepy.

Only men are considered creepy. This happens because they don't command respect and show insecurity and low self-confidence. If you approach a woman showing her immense respect (e.g. being very careful not to invade her personal space as if she has built a fortress, putting her on a pedestal) and asking her to respect you (as if you are saying:"please respect me because I respect you as well") then what you are actually doing is actually telling her the following: "I approached you by respecting your personal space and I guess it would be nice for you to respond to me, can you please do that? Also, please be nice because you might hurt my feelings". And if you look untidy then you look even more creepy.

Jesus, you approach a woman and ask for her validation? If you begin with a sentence, finish it. Don't wait for her approval to finish a sentence you began. It will show insecurity and seeking validation and approval by the woman as if it is a job jnterview. Nobody said to not respect women, you should take into consideration her personal space but nothing more than that (no special treatment). You don't owe anybody anything (women think like this as well). If she responds then good for you. If she rejects you then just fucking leave.

Approaching does not mean you lose your self-respect. Approaching is that you find a person attractive and want to know more about them before you decide they are actually worth having around. Making the first move wondering whether she will give you value makes you creepy from the beginning. You feel creepy and thus behave creepily.

So the mindset should be like this: "I wanted to talk to you and I approached you. If you don't want to talk to me, then I don't wanna talk to you either and I don't give a fuck you." People in the dating field usually think the following: "Who do you think you are? Fuck off!", which practically makes sense because you should not sell yourself short.

The fact that you approach a woman doesn't mean you owe her something. In general people are very conceited and there is no need to make someone else feel superior. It has become some sort of competition between women and men about who is superior in the dating scene.
