Sleep is so fucking important. My abusive ex wouldn’t let me sleep in and we don’t even fucking have kids. He just took it upon himself to decide sleeping is lazy and left all the alarms on even on weekends. Even when I asked him to turn them off or at least turn the light off after he’s done getting dressed. Nope. In his mind I didn’t deserve it.

Messing with someone’s sleep or not allowing them to sleep is a MAJOR red flag. In my case it was power and control, in her case it’s a lack of empathy and total selfishness.

Fucking male depravity is right.

As per usual upon looking deeper into the comments, a man's actions are initially framed as ignorant or clueless when in reality he knows EXACTLY what he's doing.

In the initial post she makes it seem like he's just forgetfully failing to set an alarm so he doesn't wake up in time to tend to the kids before they bother her. Already a lot of problems with just that, but it's not even reality.

The reality is they sleep in separate bedrooms BECAUSE he doesn't want to be bothered by the kids in the morning. So he made a decision years ago that his wife was going to be the one to deal with the kids every day (and every night when they were babies). He made that decision explicit and clear by moving into a separate bedroom.

He couldn't be more clear that he does not care one iota about her feelings on this matter or the effect it has on her. Abundantly clear.

This lady is a doctor. Her husband is wealthy. If she's determined to stay in this shitty marriage (which is seems like she is), then she needs to throw some money (his hopefully) at the problem and get a live in nanny or au-pair.

Side note, it's weird how these generational expectation gaps only work in his favor. Surely if he's so "old school" and wealthy, he will believe in paying for in house childcare.

What I don’t understand is why sooooo many women allow this??? I’ve seen waaaay too many posts like this and personally know several women in similar situations. You didn’t make those kids yourself, there’s no reason you should be the only one catering to them and/or losing sleep. Someone help me understand.
I don’t want kids but if I, by mistake had one, I’d be FUCKING damned if my husband didn’t equally help out. I’d kick him out of bed my damn self. He’d be the one asking for the divorce 😂.

She is enabling his behaviour which is gross to be honest.

She knows she needs sleep and tells him and he doesn’t do anything.

She works all day and can’t sleep and her own guy can’t even understand this.

Now he starts to sulk for no reason just because she doesn’t listen to her.

She should just leave him, he can’t tell the kids off. He can’t even respect her space.

If he has no set schedule and works from home while she has a traditional job then why isn’t his lazy ass taking the kids to school??
