personally speaking, i (20f) find older men hitting on me to be repulsive. idc if he looks good for his age, it still grosses me out, especially if he’s like 15+ years older than me. the older the man, the more repulsive it is. it’s fine if it’s obvious that he’s not being too serious, like it’s joke-y and he’s not trying to go further than some compliments or very light flirting; but it gets repulsive if he starts making sexual comments or tries to ask me for my number or something.

i’d bet money that 8x out of 10, the man believes he can “mold” me and that my youth = naivety and extra agreeableness so that must mean i’ll accept whatever bs women his own age refuse to accept.

i once entertained a couple of older men. it lost its appeal once i realized they weren’t much more mature than the guys my own age and still played the same bs games (and a couple of my friends who date older men and aren’t sugar babies experience this too). it might’ve been worth wasting that time if they were willing to spend a decent amount of money, but they weren’t even trying to do that. no offense, but there’s not much else of a reason for me to be dealing with a much older man if not for him being able to provide something men my own age typically can’t.

I know only one woman who dates a much older man and she's a broke single mother, so I think it's more about his finance rather than about her attraction to him. All other couples from my social circle consist from people of similar ages. Personally I get creeped out by older men trying to flirt with me and I'd never consider dating someone that is >5y.o. than I am.

But I guess it depends on one's appearance. There are people who look younger than they really are and a lot of people wouldn't mind date them especially casually. In Russia most older men look, well, older. Age and a lack of self care don't suit them at all.

Can't speak for all but my (22F) personal response is a no. I'm cool with older men as friends, mentors, etc. but any romantic interest is an automatic turnoff.

It doesn't help that my parents are in their 40's but look like they're in their 30's, meaning I already associate men in their 30's with my parents. Over 30 is just flat-out weird. I have a theory that young women whose parents are older might have a higher tolerance for older men but Idk for sure. If you are looking to date women who are moderately younger than you (~5 years younger), you probably won't have an advantage, but you won't have a disadvantage either. If you are looking to date women who are 10+ years younger than you, most of them won't want you, and the ones who do will probably expect you do spend a lot of money on her.

Depends on the type of woman. There’s some young women who want to be wined and dined and display more hypergamous intentions than others, like usually the type who doesn’t want to work or have aspirations herself. That’s in the minority (even if one argues that most women are hypergamous, most are still doing the independent thing and won’t just go for a man with money they can’t stand to be around).

I think there was just another post like this, posted like yesterday or the day before though. I, like most other women, answered that no, women are not attracted to older guys over men our own age. Of course we’re attracted to our own physically attractive counterparts. Older men and women that are attractive and pleasant to be around or not insufferable + provide for us can be exceptions. Depending on the woman, depending on how she grew up, and depending on her intentions.

Still, most young women think most older men are creeps and don’t appreciate the attention as much as from better looking men around our age. Funnily, most young men don’t automatically think that about older women though, I feel (they aren’t necessarily thinking wedding ring and commitment, but an attractive older woman will get decent attention just like an attractive older man). Maybe it’s because most older women aren’t actively cougars even if they find younger men attractive. I may be wrong though, can’t speak on that myself. They say men age like wine, but I’ve noticed that other than “fertility”, the older women around me (especially women of color of some type) have aged much, much better than their husbands.

My personal age gap limit is probably somewhere around 4 years up and 1 year down since I’m 19. My friends would agree, but most of us are seeking mature men our own age (maybe rare! But we’ll get there, this generation is fascinating).

Men's SMV definitely doesn't go up as they age. However, the RMV for some goes up a bit in certain factors due to them having more maturity and being more financially settled in their lives. This can attract certain women who are open to dating older men, who might not be able to find someone with a decent RMV who is their age, or a woman who is overly impressed by an older man's financial status.

I'm guessing that TRP's beliefs that men age like wine is a combination of wishful thinking and seeing the few guys out there who have been successful at attracting younger women. I certainly don't think that a generalization can be made either that older men are always more attractive than younger men, or that young women universally prefer older men.

Depends on the woman. I’m independent, I don’t have daddy issues, I don’t want a sugar daddy, and I prefer to date 10-13 older than myself (always have). I like the maturity, experience, confidence, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence that has come with that age gap (for me). I can be his wild, he can be my peace. If you aren’t getting women when you are in your peak appearance, the chances of you getting younger women when you are old is not realistic.

It’s weird that RP claims we want old guys with money but also claim women only want sexy man meat chad. It’s like they are theorizing but they never actually went through it themselves or looking at older men with looks+money+status (celebrity tier).

A paycheck really means jack shit when most women work. So being old with average money or even slightly above average money won’t really get you anywhere.

This is an issue that requires nuanced thinking. Women are angry at men for always talking about the wall, so they tend to respond with one binary: women don't like older men. TRP guys who didn't slay nubile pussy in high school and college nurse the dream that they can somehow rectify this later in life without paying for it in cash. So they talk like a typical man's 30s and 40s are his prime when it comes to scoring young hotties.

It's important as a man to stay in shape and maintain a superior financial situation than most guys your age, but the real reason men's SMV goes up as the age has more to do with women than men. Women's attractiveness goes down considerably as they get older. They spend their youth having an edge over their male peers and when old age erodes their bodies they become a much less enticing romantic prospect. Men need to cultivate attractiveness outside of looks from the get go, so after middle age a successful and charming man becomes more desirable to the opposite sex than any woman of comparable age.

Basically it's all relative. A young woman is more likely to find a guy her age attractive, but she's still going to be way more into an older man than a younger guy would be into an older woman. Plus older men have a lot more money than young guys, and that itself is a massive advantage attracting women.

I wouldnt mind dating an older man, but the down side is I (f 23) wouldn't be as accomplished or have some of the experiences as he might have.
