I used to be one of these. I thought it made me "cool" and "chill" but always sucked my self esteem. Then I realized that I didn't do that to them-- didn't follow crazy "masculine" mostly nude models, hearting all the pics. I'm sure if I had, all of a sudden it would have been "a problem."

I actually love when men drop their IG handle to me expecting me not to snoop. These are men I haven't met irl for a date yet, and that I'm vetting before that point. I don't have IG anymore, but if their profile is public you're able to see their followers list through apps/web-based browsers. If I see that he's following half naked woman on his IG? Immediate block/delete. He put his cards out on the table showing me how LV he is, without actually having me meet him in person and experience it myself.

It's unbelievable how many men in their late 30s/early 40s that partake in this behaviour. You would think the older people get, the more aware of their actions they are. It's no coincidence that most of the men leaving comments on IG "model" photos are older men who are usually married/in relationships.

It’s just so disrespectful and shows severe lack of commitment. Of course we all have eyes and of course we will find people attractive. But if your partner checks out women openly right in front of you and follows them on IG then you really need to think about how much he really cares about you. At a dinner party you can go to the bathroom and fart respectfully or shit yourself at the dinner table. No one expects these men to lie and say they will never ever think of any woman as attractive, just have basic respect and care for your partner.

This made me giggle. I'm in my 40s and usually date men in their 50s. Many are professionals and want to connect on IG. Its almost blissful ignorance like they don't realize I'll do a scroll through of who they are following. When I start seeing Insta models in Miami (we don't live in Miami) or other countries entirely, I tell them that's why I'm declining the date. I think the thing that turns me off the most about being in a relationship with a man who follows Insta models, is how pathetic it is.
