From now on, whenever I meet a guy (or girl), if they shit on people for liking or majoring in a humanities subject and say they're not as smart or accomplished as someone in a STEM field, if they have no hobbies or interests besides STEM, I won't deal with them anymore. This is coming from someone with a STEM major at a top university.

I am so tired of pseudointellectuals who think "objective fields" have more value. I can't believe people still think women and men have the same equality of opportunities. Women are socialized from an early age that they are bad at math, that women shouldn't become engineers, physicists, mathematicians, etc. It's a boy's club in these universities and professions, so much harrassment exists too. Women are often given the easier tasks because people think women can't handle STEM. They think these "psychological issues" are not barriers (apparently, feelings don't matter like stembros love to say huh?) are just something women should "just get over," and they could apply to STEM fields anytime they want, but if you're told your whole life that you're not meant for STEM, why would you suddenly apply? These are the people who think racism ended just because slavery was abolished and black people can vote and that sexism ended because women can vote and work now. A dude literally told me that he thinks sexism doesn't exist and that nobody believes women are intellectually inferior to men. Like wow, not only do you not see your own sexism, you are so naively optimistic of the world.

Also, humanities fields are so amazing. People should be more open-minded to trying new things and not putting down other people's accomplishments just because they're in a different academic field. Humanities help develop critical thinking, communication, understanding other cultures, etc.
