It's disgusting how Jessica Valenti published an article detailing how she "stood with Jackie" even after the holes in the story had been revealed and Rolling Stone had retracted the story, and said that she had "nothing to lose" by so doing.

Too right she has nothing to lose. A fraternity gets falsely accused of gang rape and they get death threats and bricks thrown in their windows. And what happens to the false accuser, and the people who helped her fan the flames? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

The importance of three words: "Catfishing" and "Haven Monahan"

A lot of effort has been put into stuffing the UVA – Rolling Stone gang rape on broken glass hate hoax down the Memory Hole by making the scandal seem as boring and technical as imaginable: mistakes were made in following proper journalistic procedures. Nothing else to remember here, move along.

The key roadblock was to keep the words “catfishing” and “Haven Monahan” out of the public mind. If you understand how those two fit together, the story is hilarious: a super-girly girl, Jackie, catfishes a dream date “Haven Monahan” into digital existence to make a boy she likes, Ryan, jealous.

When that’s not working she makes up a story about Haven Monahan’s sexual assault. When that still doesn’t make Ryan fall in love with her, she switches back to having Haven send Ryan an email explaining why Ryan should fall in love with Jackie, cribbed from Dawson’s Creek and other romance shows for boy-crazy tween girls.

When that fails, Jackie slowly becomes aware over many months that if she can’t have Ryan, she can still have some of the attention she craves by portraying herself as a victim of campus rape culture. But of course she can’t call the police because she just made everything up. Dean Nicole Eramo recognizes that Jackie’s probably never going to talk to the police about her woozy story.

Eventually, Sabrina Rubin Erdely comes to town for Rolling Stone and between them they work up a doozy of a story. With publication, an actual Night of Broken Glass ensues with SJW vandals smashing the windows of the libeled fraternity house. Jackie then defends Dean Eramo when America’s feminists try to get the poor woman fired. It’s a complete fiasco, but nobody in the media seems to notice...

Okay, so, now we know what happened.

A whole lot of people, however, are going to remember this story not as an utter hoax, but as a complicated situation in which the Rolling Stone reporter maybe messed up by violating some boring journalist protocol by not calling people to get their pro forma denials so that the whole thing could have been more of a He Said, She Said. The only thing that millions of people are going to remember is that Sabrina Rubin Erdely should have been a little more nuanced.

It will be interesting to see how feminists respond to this revelation. For the past year they have held to the assumption that something must have happened to Jackie. If the above article is true, then the entire story from beginning to end, including the rape claim, is false. There is no weaseling out of that. My girlfriend goes to UVA and she knows many of Jackie Coakley's former friends, who have all turned on her. I've even met one of the boys who supposedly wanted to cover it up because he wanted to rush. He's not in a fraternity. This whole ordeal went as bad as it could have for her. Within a month her story was debunked by authorities. All her friends knew it was her behind the story so they turned on her. She thought she would be a hero but turned into the ultimate villain. She's now left the school and is engaged to guy. I don't know what he could see in her. Take this with a grain of salt because this is second hand information. Supposedly she hated the school going in because she got into Brown, clearly an academically smart girl, but her Dad either couldn't afford it or wouldn't pay for it. So she resented the fact that she was forced to go to UVA. She hated it there and just didn't fit into UVA's culture, which I can see being very true because UVA has a very particular culture. It's not a bad thing, some people just don't fit in there. Living in northern VA I know a ton of kids who go there. Half think it's heaven on Earth, half think it's awful. Her first semester/year she struggled academically, wasn't making a lot of friends and gained a ton of weight. She found support in the campus's rape advocacy group and they became her friends. If you looked at her Tumblr (she had a Tumblr, shocker) before she deleted it, it read like a kinky girls rape fantasy. Some of her Rolling Stone story seemed like it came straight from there. The rape advocacy group sorta pushed her away because the rape supposedly happened years ago and she wasn't really willing to accuse anyone or file a report. She ended up losing more friends. Her story though was so bad, so awful to hear. Remember this girl said she was attacked, gang raped as a fraternity ritual, on a broken glass table. She was put in touch with the journalist who was writing a piece about campus rapes. Jackie's story was so horrendous it became the lead story which Jackie never wanted and it all blew up in her face.

Ryan Duffin is the most naive man of all time. I think I would have figured this was fishy when Haven kept on trying to talk about how awesome Ryan is, and although Haven was supposed to be texting a girl, kept saying crude things about hoping Jackie was easy. Guys aren't that stupid.

Below are some good tips I give to Servicemen, but they are also applicable to College life. I guess I could add, "If a woman wants you to act like a woman to text the man she's crushing on to gather information about her, then you should probably distance yourself from her because she has fabricated and is really the man you are texting while you are acting like the girl to get the made up man to she fabric...... **head just exploded** 1. Practice abstinence until marriage. In addition to minimize the chances you will be falsely accused, you won’t have to worry about STD’s or child support payments for 18 years. This is the best method of False Allegation Prevention or (“FAP”). There is nothing wrong with a little FAP, but if abstinence is not an option, then rules 2 – 12 are for you. 2. Don’t have sex until you’ve known a woman for at least 3 months, and do NOT get married after knowing a woman for less than 6 months. Sticking your penis into crazy is like playing Russian Roulette. Yeah, crazy women are great in bed, and initially, she might seem like she loves to do the things you do. She very well might have a personality disorder, which can be contained for a few months, but the cray cray will start seeping out; otherwise, she will spontaneously combust. If a woman can make it 6 months with you without you seeing “The Stranger,” like the Billy Joel song, then she might be a keeper. But, if she is trying to get you to get rid of your dog after you tell her you love her, refers to your lifelong friends who warn you about her as “frenemies,” stops eating meat because she is a vegetarian and you should be too, dammit, and stops doing all the things she told you she loved to do with you, then she is a dumper. She’s probably annoying as crap, and if she wants to land on your carrier, your response should be, “Negative ghost rider, the pattern is full.” 10. If a woman says “stop/no/I don’t think we should be doing this” or any other derivation of these themes, then stop immediately. She either has a very good reason, or she does not want to appear too easy. If she has a good reason, then you will either get your nutsack ripped off or accused of rape if you continue. If it’s because she doesn’t want to appear easy and she is giving you a coy “Nooo,” then you stopping will absolutely eat her up inside. She will wonder what is wrong with her. Don’t date a woman you have to save from her social circumstances. Find a strong woman who is the same rank or social status as you are.
