More often than it should. Life after divorce is much better for most men but it's hard to see in the beginning. Go to your friend, he shouldn't be alone.

I did research once I got divorced. Not surprised that almost 4,000 men commit suicide every year. We lose our kids, get hosed by the court system again and again, made out to look like criminals, lose half our paycheck or more and then are practically told to " deal with it" or we are weak. The courts do not care about our living situation after divorce, only the females. We have sometimes had to get 2nd jobs just to prevent homelessness or keep up with bills. Some men are fighting daily just to stay alive. This sub helps alot of men while we work on men's rights reform in this nation.

All too often. You have options to help. 1. Call local police to make wellness check. 2. You go check. 3. Find his family, ask them to check. 4. Neighbors can check. Someone needs to check on him.

Don’t leave him alone, bad things happen. He needs people talking to him until he gets his head together and he can rationally think through things in clear ways. Stay close, the alternative will be much worse and weigh heavy on you for years. Check your friends.

It’s pretty damn hard. Two weeks ago I left the house with the intention of doing just that. I planned where to go and how I would do it. Ironically I was about to go through with it and a bird flew into the side of my car (pretty weird) and it took me out of the moment. I still think about offing myself on a daily basis to a lesser or greater degree. Next month I’ll lose my driving licence and then my job. Where I live there is no real public transport. I have no real friends and haven’t spoken to my family in years (due to ex).

My kids are older and have their own lives. I can’t plan for a future. I’m scared to leave my house. I’m hungry but can’t eat and my sleep is almost non existent. I wouldn’t end it in my own house because I don’t want this place to be associated with my actions for my kids and ex’s sake.

Please stay in touch with your friend. Even if he says he’s ok. I know that for me evenings and weekends feel the worst. If you can, go and see him. A physical presence and being with someone helps so much. If he doesn’t want to go out, go with him and maybe do something low key but distracting. Encourage him to see a doctor if possible maybe offer to go with him.

Seems like a lot I know. But I’m sure he will thank you for it one day.

I'm about to do it. I'm waiting to see what the courts decide. I toldy wife she would die a widow before we got divorced. That I would jump off the court stairs & dive bomb head first right in front of her & she would have to explain to our son why he didn't he have a dad. Well, that days coming soon. so we'll see.

You should be worried, go find him!

Even if he is just passed out drunk he should feel flattered that somebody cares. Most men have NOBODY who cares. We have very few real friends because we spend every waking second trying to earn a living for our families, a real friend is a luxury very few of us have.

This is just me, but if I knew where my friend lived and he wasn't answering any contact, I'd go to their place and see if they're okay in person. They may have turned off their phone. If you don't hear from them in a couple days, maybe do a wellness check, but use that as a last resort.
