Reading this gave me whiplash at how similar I used to be to her.
LDR, cheapass LVM who REFUSED at ALL COSTS to EVER order food on his own bill, I alone had to constantly buy us meals AND buy us groceries to cook with or else eat canned tuna or meat that had been open in the fridge for a week. I lost 5 pounds in 7 days when I put my foot down and told him I couldn't keep footing the bill for food all on my own after spending 300 dollars on a plane ticket to see him.... Jesus Christ it physically pains me. He wasn't poor, either, he made probably 3x as much as I did and yet was probably the most selfish man I've ever met.
