I didn’t think the block had to extend to LinkedIn either, until it did! They real desperate.

Where did you get a picture of my ex? 😬

Last year I got the nastiest message I've EVER received from an ex of mine it outlined all my flaws and everything I hate about myself (a year after we broke up) it really affected me for a few months after, after he had sent it he blocked me. At the start of the lockdown (almost 6 months to the day) he unblocked me and messaged me again, wishing me the best and telling me that he 'misses me' I was shook. I told him to get lost and never message me again.
I'll never understand the thought process and I really don't want to. Dodged a bullet

If you haven’t already, block him. Don’t give him the opportunity to jump in and out of your life.
[–]plsdontkickthecatFDS Newbie45 points46 points47 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I did!! What bugged me was the pure nerve he had to type it out let alone send it. I wish I had this sub years ago cause I never would have gone out with him in the first place, but you live and you learn!

My friends ex unblocked her to send the most pathetic and ridiculous novel to her because they got into a public argument after running into each other at a bar (highlights include: “you’re Regina George” and “my mom would cry if she knew how you really were” LMFAOOO)
Although now I know no response is best it was so satisfying that she took my advice to just respond with “lol”
[–]hongkonghenry[S] 29 points30 points31 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You're Regina George 🤣🤣🤣
[–]plsdontkickthecatFDS Newbie16 points17 points18 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This one was triggered because I posted a pic of me and my current bf at a wedding - he must have stalked my FB to see it cause we weren't even friends. Regina George? 😂 That's a new one. I know what you mean, sometimes no reply is better but her response was perfect hahah

Before I blocked covert narc ex, he sent me this world salad opus email...basically blamed me for all of the problems in the relationship. Including when he got drunk and smashed his own car radio (while I was driving his car, because he 'had to' drink).
Once, early in the relationship, I had commented that I felt like I had trouble 'living in the moment' (like, you know, any normal person in this modern world). And he weaponized that.
They do this intentionally to MESS WITH YOU.
Don't let it in.
[–]sugaredberryFDS Newbie9 points10 points11 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Not too deep of a reason, but narcissists need to feel like they destroyed you. It’s so they can give themselves confirmation bias that they did the “”right”” thing by abusing and leaving you bc apparently their victims are “worthless”. Max cringe way of thinking

This looks so much like my ex it’s eerie - my friend even sent me this image months ago because she thought the same and the circumstances were spot on. I broke up with him in 2017 because he was abusive (found out later he cheated on me), I moved overseas for a year and had absolutely zero contact with him. I blocked him on everything. Except for email, which he used to impersonate a lawyer threatening to sue me for ‘defamation’. Fair to say, as a legal graduate, I contacted the actual law firm and they were pissed. He had his ass handed to him in court. Post returning to my home country, I unblocked him as it had been 2 years passed and I genuinely did not care. I wanted to show that he didn’t even warrant my block. I had moved on, and I expected the same. Big mistake 🤦🏼♀️. Earlier this year, he messaged me and ‘apologised’, which quickly turned into him trying to gaslight me into taking the blame for the destruction of our relationship. He would also get shitty with me if I took ‘too long’ to respond, as apparently I was ‘always on my phone’ - a fact he couldn’t know because my settings were set so he couldn’t see when I was active. I very swiftly and decisively blocked him again. This image hits me right in the feels x

Abusive men don't give up.
I haven't been on Facebook in years and recently had to create a new account for work. The first thing I did was find and block an ex from 12 years ago, because I know he'll never stop harassing me, given the opportunity. Especially as he's getting older and losing friends because more people see through his shit.
The last time he harassed me was 5 years ago. He spent 2 years sending me harassing messages, acting like we were best friends who'd just had coffee last week and claiming he couldn't understand why I wouldn't talk to him.
Abusers are deranged.
[–]hongkonghenry[S] 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I second this. I was harassed 2 years ago via Instagram by a guy I barely dated 11 years ago.
[–]Inspection-CriticalFDS Apprentice8 points9 points10 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I barely dated this guy, too.
He stringed me along for 5 years, I finally got to date him, and it only lasted a month before I dumped him because he was absolutely repulsive.
Narcissists are really good at portraying themselves as all that and a bag of chips. They don't hold up well when you start spending meaningful amounts of time with them.

Especially as he's getting older and losing friends because more people see through his shit.
One more man who treats the women in his life or his partners and people like shit, just to find himself ageing and alone, because even the big old myth that he will have his grand days when old, and that age does not affect him as a male, and that he deserves affection without giving anything, it is all turning out to be a lie. One more male who will whine and wonder about male loneliness, and expect others to fix it.
[–]Inspection-CriticalFDS Apprentice6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Exactly.
I met his wife twice and he treated her like shit. It blew my mind to see this gorgeous stranger with so much going for her (a PhD! a marathon runner!) running around like a servant for some bald asshole who's abused and cheated on every woman unfortunate enough to love him.
[–]I_chose_myselfFDS Newbie59 points60 points61 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Omg I’m dying! This is so true. They just don’t want you to move on from them when they sense you are still better off without their presence
[–]hestolemymoneyFDS Newbie23 points24 points25 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
My first ex contacted me a few months ago. We broke up 5 years ago and it was a long distance relationship. He messaged me to apologise for cheating on me and that I was his "The One that Got Away". Note: he's still with the girl he cheated with. Clearly, he is veeeery guilty. But I have already moved on.
[–]i_said_what_i_said_FDS Apprentice64 points65 points66 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
A few weeks ago I had a message from a guy I broke things off with about a year ago. I ended things with him because after a small disagreement he gave me the silent treatment for 2 days. He was MAD when I told him why I wouldn’t continue to see him.
(Side note - an ex of mine years ago admitted to using the silent treatment as a form of punishment. This behaviour is extremely deliberate)
Anyway, he messages me a wall of text asking for closure (?), some flimsy excuse about work issues, some poor-me waffle, some I’ve-been-thinking-of-you waffle, then asked if he could take me out to a fancy restaurant for a “special date”.
No. You’re clearly on the prowl for some sex. Do you think I’m stupid?!
No reply. Blocked.

Oh dear oh dear. This series of bullshit events has 0 to do with any apology - it is always to do with some scrote combing his mind for someone who might possibly potentially have sex with him again after he fucked up the first time. Gross.

I had a low value friend who did this to me years ago. I think she forgot that she told me about this tactic when we were "friends". She said when she's feeling low, she likes to transfer that energy to other people by calling them up and telling them she had a "dream" about them. It was just a way to make sure the people she fell out with think there's still hope for friendship and she ghosts them shortly after.

Really, the Block and Delete options are your best friend, ladies! It's like a safe wall behind which you are protected from an unwanted attention, stalking, anxiety, emotional manipulation, guilt tripping, verbal abuse and the temptation to text someone you shouldn't be texting.

Do you put them in a different folder, so you can look at them later? My brother is actually blocked, and his emails go to the trash bin, which is emptied every 30 days

where would I be without this sub's support. This was exactly what a guy that sexually assaulted me last year did and my dumbass was almost grateful lmao

I honestly think my ex smokes too much weed to even formulate any kind of thought like this. I imagine he forgot about he three days after the last time I saw him, because he literally smokes weed and watches porn 90% of his waking hours. Which is fine. I hate that I think about him every day and I hope I can forget him and move on from the trauma he left me with soon.
[–]saltedpretzel2FDS Newbie1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Usually I block all of my exs, so I've never really had any of them come back and message me. But there was a guy I was seeing casually, he was rude in the way he told me he wasn't available one time when I tried to arrange us to hang out once, so I replied and said "okay then.... maybe we should go back to being friends, and can you please give my things I left at your place to our mutual friend, I will collect them off him" . He never replied and I just left it and I never spoke to him again lmao
I didnt feel the need to block him cause it was nothing serious, and then 8 months later, when I was in another relationship, I got a message from him saying "sorry I didnt reply"
Hahaha. Wtf. I left him on read lol

Girls spend all this time coming up with a good comeback and thinking he regrets it when it just shows him he still has a hold over you. Even after all the shit he put us through we still feel bad blocking or ignoring. It’s hard to admit but chances are he is just bored or needs some supply until he finds his next victim.
