I'm going to jump in and mention I'd be extremely cautious about describing the pay gap as a myth.

The interesting part is that everything in the graphic is true. Men do pick riskier jobs, in higher paying fields, for longer, in less comfortable situations, etc. However, that doesn't disprove a wage gap.

The reason why is that when we run statistics to calculate gaps between the sexes, we're not just comparing all male salaries versus all female salaries. Instead, we're using linear regression, which allows us to ensure we're only comparing apples to apples (CFO's to CFO's or truck drivers to truck drivers).

The pay gap is still seen even in those analyses where we hold the factors mentioned constant. However, MR is right to point out that young, unmarried women compared in this fashion are now at parity (if not slightly above) men of the same age. The problem is when children are introduced.

With no change in hours worked, or occupation, or riskiness, or any other factor, becoming a mother significantly drops one's earning potential, while it does the opposite for a father. That tilts things out of balance at the aggregate level, even when holding all factors constant.

tl;dr

All of which is to say, please be extremely careful about observing trends and saying they disprove a related but not necessarily causal whole. Doing the math today still shows that the pay gap isn't a myth at all once you compare apples to apples, especially for mothers.

The most attractive women have about as much attention as women of medium attractiveness. I wonder why that is. Is it just a psychological problem for guys ("I don't have a chance with her")? Or is it something else?

Note how, as men become more attractive, less women actually contact them. What is that all about!?

It looks like women have inflated expectations of male attractiveness, but they don't all go for the best looking men - Their "messaging" curve follows their "attractiveness" curve almost perfectly, actually. I can't wrap my head around this :x

Strange collection of statistics right there, I see how stuff about pay is valid in a discussion about the oppression of men, but women's dating habits?

Plus, the bit on the left about single mother families is interesting, but when it has an enormous LOL FEMALES next to it, suddenly it seems less like it's saying, "Look at the danger of not having two parents" and more, "Women are shit at raising kids".

And finally, the gender pay gap. I like how they claim that it doesn't exist because women just choose to earn less money. No sexism there, women are just making different choices! In the same way it's not sexist that men work the majority of dangerous jobs, they're just choosing to do that, in no way does our sexist society contribute to this in any way!

Not nice at all. There are many legitimate issues for men and you pick these as representation of how men are repressed? A few of them don't even support your claim. E.g. Even if the pay gap is a myth (which I think it probably is) how does it show that men are repressed? This lousy logic is feminist thinking and is not what men's rights supposed to be.

Seriously? DHHS Technical Analysis Paper No. 42 was published in 1991 - can you provide similar data that's not over 20 years old? The pay-gap data is anecdotal in that the data presented here provides absolutely zero evidence that women earn less because they choose shittier jobs vs the proposition that they choose shittier jobs because there is extreme amounts of bias toward women in those specific jobs. This is know as the "false cause" logical fallacy.

I'm not trying to say that there is no bias toward men in society, but I am saying that this "infographic" is absolutely biased, wrong, horribly out of date, and logically unsound. Pay gap especially - the evidence presented here is infinitely more supportive of the idea that there is a pay gap and gender bias in the work world than the other way around. I suggest that the OP take a course in basic statistical methods and especially a course in classical logic if they want to make real arguments.

i actually didn't know that 2/3 of divorces are initiated by a woman. so i decided to look it up. turns out it is true and even more shockingly, among university educated couples, the divorce rate initiated by women is 90%. holy shit! 90%?!

edit: after taking a look at the article itself and the subsequent articles that cite it, i can not come to any conclusion other than the fact that the people who wrote these articles are biased as fuck or is afraid to seem in favor of men. there seem to always be a good reasonable reason for why women are divorcing their husbands. women can do no wrong.

one article even says "These findings are interpreted to suggest that wives are more sensitive to the quality of their marriages than husbands are. This is because men benefit from the status of being married (i.e., being a husband) regardless of the emotional quality of their relationship.(what the fuck?) The benefits that wives derive from marriage, however, appear to depend on the quality of their unions. "

I'm pretty sure that infographic is from 4chan. Not that it discounts the facts that may be included, but using something from 4chan doesn't strengthen your argument.
