This article is from a few years ago, beaver creek candle company now manages it. They buy cans and donate the money to soup kitchens. They also employ developmentally disabled people. You can find the site here . The candles are 10 dollars each but there is also wax melts it seems.

It's unbelievable the way that some people will shit on a man who's doing good for people who need it.

In the same way, last week there was a big stink over a 20-year-old guy who's a YouTuber and, in the last few years, has given away over $500k in cash to poor and homeless people.

But some scumbags decided to dig back through his Twitter feed and found that 3 years ago he said, "Windows 10 is gay". So apparently that makes him a homophobe. So that means he needs to be torn down, and none of those scumbags care that his comment was only a joke made in passing any more than they care about all the good he's done. They still did their best to tear him down all the same.

This happened several years ago, but it doesn't stop it being ridiculous and ugly that feminist SJW types leaped on a boy who turned an act of charity into a business and a bigger act of continual charity because he had the temerity to do it by selling scented candles to men.

Nevermind the fact he also had a line of scented candles for women, no, the very fact he sold to men made him a target.

It was disgusting and quite probably marked the start of my journey towards disillusion with the narrative.

My dad had a candle that smelled like a garage. Whenever he was working on cars (career auto mechanic) and did not want my help I would smell the garage scented man candle and wish I could hang out with my father. He always smells like Old Spice and gasoline.

So let me get this straight, women have a gargantuan, enormous, massive, incomprehensibly large amount of products marketed to them as "Sexy", "Beautiful", "Feminen", "Divine", "The real you", etc. Yet when this guy decides to make a masculine product he gets chastised.

This is so anti-male and sexist, I don't even. I have no words for how stupid and hypocritical this is.

And whether he donates the cans to the homeless or not is beside the point. Sure it makes it even worse how awful these people are, but until I start seeing L'Oreal, Chanel, and all the other brands that market distinctly to women start donating there is no reason for this expectation.

I'm going to sound like an idiot here (wouldn't be the first time..) but just so I understand, they were angry at him for marketing candles to men...? With scents that would supposedly appeal to men? Is that it?

I just don't get it from their perspective. Is it that they felt left out, or was it "sexist" to say that those smells appeal to men? Or..? Not expecting a reasonable argument for why, but is it just because the word "man" is in the product name? Cause I can't really see any other reason anyone would be mad.
