The most reliable way to win the game is to not take part in it.

[–]dankmemezrus 86 points87 points88 points 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I wouldn’t say you win that way sadly. But you also don’t lose

[–]Frird2008 90 points91 points92 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You're correct. I should have been more specific: The most reliable way to not lose is to not play

[–]thejosecorte 40 points41 points42 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You're completely right. But at the same time it's sad that it has come to this, and it's going to get worse instead of improving.

[–]Frird2008 20 points21 points22 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The more time goes by, the more you "win" by simply not participating to begin with. Worst thing is, we aren't even the worst country in the world when it comes to this. There's a handful of worse countries out there, but even in America it's a risky game to play.

[–]omega_dawg93 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

if it's just about having sex, you can simply PAY TO PLAY.

as the quote goes... "you're not paying for the sex, you're paying for her to leave."

[–]HamletsRazor 54 points55 points56 points 3 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

My divorce cost me $500K. If I had never been married, I would have retired at 40.

You have a 50% chance of suffering the same fate, and 80-90% of those are initiated by women. I assure you that not playing is absolutely winning.

[–]omega_dawg93 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

young guys say, "pussy is free... you just have to have game."

that's funny to me bc all men pay in one way or another: some pay a little, and some pay a lot, but we all pay.

and you'll NEVER hear a divorced man say, "the pussy was free," bc she's taking half your assets, you'll be paying alimony (and child support), AND she gets to keep ALL the pussy.

[–]Your_Agenda_Sucks 61 points62 points63 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Every dollar you keep for yourself instead of funding a parasite is a win.

[–]NohoTwoPointOh 21 points22 points23 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Next month?

Bout to grab a thermal scope for the LUPO, volunteer at my kids’ school, and then fly to LATAM to enjoy the company of some lovely ladies. All on MY terms. No nagging, circular logic, or Live, Laugh, Love pillows.

No, winning works in this context.

[–]NickTesla2018 20 points21 points22 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

If you nutty broads are so great, marry yourselves. Problem solved! Imagine all of the needless drama though. And who will pick up the bar / dinner tab? Will they both just sit there and stare at it?

[–]omega_dawg93 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

there's a trend of women literally marrying themselves... complete ceremony with pics and everything.

smmfh.

broads are dating themselves and marrying themselves just to get that "i'm a princess for a day," level of attention.

this shit is nuts.

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Seems like some are going solo based on how popular this song is:

“I can buy myself flowers. Write my name in the sand…”

It seems like they have their theme song figured out.

[–]Frird2008 -5 points-4 points-3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What's a "nutty broad"?

[–]gaynazifurry4bernie 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A skirt that needs to see a head-shrinker.

[–]Darkwolf90 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No? That's not how it works. You're taking the game but ignoring arbitrary rules, others try to demand you play by, despite them having 0 authority to do so.

[–]Angryasfk 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh don’t worry. The powers that be will just up your taxes to pay what wasn’t taken in divorce etc.

[–]PlzSendDunes 144 points145 points146 points 3 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

So now gold-digging is redefined to a lack of economically attractive men...

And as always, men will be blamed for everything...

Anyways how this kind of article is useful in any way? It's not like it offers any solutions in solving of why so many men are underpaid for women to be comfortable to consider them marriageable men?

[–]Apprehensive_Bit1471 54 points55 points56 points 3 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Who do we blame for all the fat women then ? Men i guess ? Theres far to many of them. Its absolutely insane. Slim women are an endangered species.

[–]KrazyJazz 39 points40 points41 points 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Who do we blame for all the fat women then ? Men i guess ?

You accurately guessed.

[–]Revolutionary_Town21 29 points30 points31 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That guy in the video, went from slave to chad.

[–]Arvis1983 14 points15 points16 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Well yeah… you can’t expect her to have accountability

Morbidly obese ( which is probably more mental than anything, and she can and should get help), mom who definitely has too much say so ( another mental health issue she has)

It’s no one’s fault but hers, and this dude needs to get away now if he hasn’t already

I know people who have had this surgery… it’s tough, but they got on a treadmill and stopped eating to get where they needed to be, and it changed their life

This woman’s probably still huge, or she’s had the surgery and has already over-eaten her restrictions to start gaining again since she has no accountability

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 10 points11 points12 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

My sister used to have the job of screening patients who wanted gastric bypass surgery. She had to approve before they could get it. She had them do things like no drinking calories and log it. The surgery isn’t going to work for people with no self control. She had a lot of stories on how pissed some of them would get at her and is why she hated the job.

[–]Arvis1983 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I friend of mine went through, and I remember him sharing all the details and challenges before they would do the surgery

Thankfully, he was committed, and it changed his life. He dropped over 200lbs, but I think he has to lose around 30 lbs on his own before they would do the surgery

I’m glad this is an option, since people who get 100 lbs or more overweight often times can’t make the changes to lose the weight in a healthy manner. I think also going the surgery route loops in the mental health side too as to how they got so big in the first place

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That’s awesome. I’m so glad it worked for him. I lost 50lbs over about a year to go from obese to the medically healthy range the biggest surly to me was the improvement to my mental health. I 20 lbs of it back though over the last 3 years so it’s time to get to work again. It’s nice to know I can do it though.

[–]Prince_of_Chungustan 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think she's not addressing the elephant in the room

[–]SerqetCity 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So I don't know about this particular episode of My 600 lb Life, but in every single one I've seen, the morbidly obese person has an enabler, someone who brings them the food. It could be the man here, in which case the fat lady would be right in her singing, but it could also be the mother, since she seems to be taking the fat lady's side.

If he were the enabler, then him breaking it off is actually the best thing he could have done for her. She is going to have a much harder time getting the food herself.

[–]ParamedicExcellent15 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yuck, just yuck 🤢

[–]PlzSendDunes 17 points18 points19 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's a golden rule I would say. Women who are unable to take accountability will always blame men, basically for everything. Even for things men barely have agency over.

[+]HotRaise4194 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women tend to gain weight after marriage, men tend to make more income after marriage. I’m not getting the analogy.

[–]NickTesla2018 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You guessed it. Frank Stallone. (Norm Macdonald reference for ya)

[–]Sandwhale123 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We obviously oppressed them into being fat.

[–]Current_Finding_4066 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. Let the men with careers pick up the slack or stop complaining. It is certainly not men fault they want the cake and eat it too.

[–]dankmemezrus 55 points56 points57 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Give that author a gold medal for mental gymnastics please

[–]corporate_robot_dude 57 points58 points59 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

They get offended when being called a gold digger, they just want a man who is ambitious and generous.

[–]calmly86 29 points30 points31 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

“Ambitious” and “generous.” I wonder if the data analysts at online dating apps can tell us the percentage of women’s profiles that use these two words.

[–]corporate_robot_dude 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Atleast with height they are direct about that. They know that asking a guy about their income is like asking a girl about her weight. And if you disagree you're a misogynist.

[–]haekz -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I would prefer them having a stronger preference for income than height though.

[–]McGauth925 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The good thing about weight is, the number correlates closely with appearance. Thus, a person doesn't really need to ask for the number. A glance tells us all that's relevant.

[–]KrazyJazz 214 points215 points216 points 3 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

F: 'We want to have careers and make our own money!'

M: 'Sure thing, ladies. We understand. Best of luck!'

F: 'Wait! What? You won't continue to pay for our stuff?'

M: 'You just said you wanted to make your own money. You have it now. Don't you like equality?'

F: 'Yes!...No!...YES! Of course. But not like that!'

[–]Pz5 60 points61 points62 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Most of the reporters writing these articles cant come to grips with the fact younger man are abandoning the idea of getting married in growing numbers. So instead of asking why men dont want to get married they simply blame men. Its a feminist mentality.

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 36 points37 points38 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It’s like they don’t realize it took a lot of social norms (often reinforced via religion) to get young men to have the drive to achieve enough to support a family. If “smashing the patriarchy “ is getting rid of all gendered social norms why do they have that surprised pickachu face all the time?

[–]CrowMagpie 23 points24 points25 points 3 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

instead of asking why men

It's a common feminist tactic; instead of asking why men do anything ever, they tell us why we do things.

[–]Angryasfk 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Again it’s the all too common female belief they can read any man like a book. And coupled with feminist entitlement and belief they know “the secret” that’s the result.

They don’t look at why men aren’t marrying, they instead think they can just badger them and force them to the alter and it will be then business as usual in the March to the feminist utopia. And they don’t even acknowledge that it that long ago it was big name feminists who were denouncing marriage as “slavery for women”!

[–]ERiC_693 37 points38 points39 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

A man only has worth if he has money and high social status.

Been that way for hundreds of thousands of years, why would it be different.

'Equality ' is women selecting what is convenient at any given moment in time, not actually having any principles centered around the meaning of the word "equal".

[–]haekz 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's how the world works, twisting words and meaning to market a concept that is absolutely horrible.

[–]vestibularam 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

equality is basically a buzz word for give me everything for free

[–]Plus-Ad4037 36 points37 points38 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Women cried over taking up what used to be men’s college places/jobs whilst having no intention to be the breadwinner of a family.

Then wondering why less men are in positions to fund a family.

Marriage is a dead practice with all the casual relationships anyway. No benefit at all for men

[–]GoldenLeopard317 10 points11 points12 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Graduates earn more than non-graduates. Women graduate more then men. Therefore, women earn more than men. But … women don’t want that? Then why do they keep encouraging women to get degrees, when they fully intend on working part-time/semi-retiring once they have their first child?

So much of social media is full of women in their 20s lamenting about not having a rich man. They wish they could stop working, like their mothers did. But that’s the price you pay for feminising the education system.

[–]Plus-Ad4037 15 points16 points17 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly.

Interview a girl doing a high-paying degree and there’s a high chance she has no intentions to work full time, or even at all once she has children. She expects a man to pay for the house and childcare needs.

On the other hand there’s a man who would love to study and work if it knew he meant he was going to be providing for a loyal family. But he never got the chance due to female and inclusivity quotas in colleges and the workplace.

So instead of having traditional two-parent households with a healthy family unit, we have increasing groups of men and women who are completely incompatible.

Women drive 80% of all consumer purchasing, which basically confirms the fact

[–]Dkpokefan72 46 points47 points48 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Murderer kills victim

Wait victim was a man ?

It's his fault for not defending himself

Authors say many young men have 'little to bring to the marriage bargain'

Yeah, dating up is always a bargain it also conveniently provides a safety net in divorce..

Complaining that women are now working and feel entitled to find men who earn more than them is ridiculous.

[–]disayle32 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

For decades now, women have been screaming at men that we're not entitled to anything from them. It is painfully obvious that in all that time, they never even tried to internalize the corresponding message about men. Well, here it is, ladies: you aren't entitled to economically attractive men. You're entitled to NOTHING from us. Put on your big girl pants and deal with it. Maybe actually start giving a shit about what men want in a relationship instead of just making demands, demands, demands.

[–]Wasteofoxyg3n 19 points20 points21 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Fight for the right to work, supposedly so they can stand with men on equal ground

Still leech off of their boyfriends/husbands

Women moment.

[–]RalfMurphy 19 points20 points21 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'd love to know how many women in that survey were economically attractive themselves

[–]NibblyPig 8 points9 points10 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is a big part of it. I've had it shoved down my throat that women should be strong and independent and CAN do anything a MAN can do.

So me, aggressively successful, judges women by that exact criteria. And most women are found wanting. I've had it hammered into me that women can do all these great things. So I'm like great, find a woman that's just like me then, aggressively career focused with a well rounded set of hobbies and lofty ambitions, because any woman that isn't like that is obviously defective and inferior, because I've been told that enough times.

Oh look, there aren't any. Well how am I supposed to be attracted to someone that is a failure under their own definition of success?

[–]haekz 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They probably work at McDonalds and Costco's.

The successful ones are working in HR.

Who TF is paying 33 grand for a wedding??? Mine cost about £500 and we’re happy as pigs in shit!!!

[–]upsidedownbackwards 12 points13 points14 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

My brother and his wife sold their second car (and even cut most insurance on their first) to fund their $20,000+ wedding back in 2008ish. They were willing to give each other rides everywhere for almost a year and a half just for one day.

They're divorced now.

That one day was the last time I shaved. Hopefully I'll never have to shave for anyone again. Don't get married.

[–]j97hUlaO901leIoeA79l 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Some women just obsess over the fantasy of the dream wedding, doesn’t matter who can give it to them. My buddy’s wife just wanted the $50 wedding in Court, and they’re doing great.

[–]Franksss 9 points10 points11 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think it's a company with a vested interest in inflating that figure.

My assumption is it includes multimillion pound weddings and removes any weddings that don't use a wedding planner or some shit that allows them.to.disqualify you.

[–]Reading_Rainboner 18 points19 points20 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It says in the article that women have more education than men now so why can’t they be the ones doing the vying for economics?

[–]motosandguns 19 points20 points21 points 3 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Because their plan is to be a stay at home mom as soon as they pop out a baby.

I’m all for stay at home moms but not if they take 60% of the university spots, a bunch of entry level careers then drop out of the workforce when they have children.

Either keep earning (and help support your family) or get out of the way.

[–]GoldenLeopard317 5 points6 points7 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Noooooo, you don’t understand! Being a mother is a full time job! Ignore the fact that the father is also an equal parent, with equal value to the child. The woman had to carry the child for 9 months - how can they be expected to work again! The father is the lesser parent who must break his back to provide for his selfish wife.

Thankfully some women aren’t like this, but too many are.

[–]Maijemazkin 13 points14 points15 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What a pity that women, children and animals are all loved unconditionally, but men are only valued if they can provide high numbers

[–]HonestCanadian2016[🍰] 31 points32 points33 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Trust me guys, don't get married if you can avoid it. If you do fall victim to the women of today, have an iron clad agreement for Separation and record everything!

Like how fucking stupid do you have to be to honestly think every problem both genders face is because of men?

[–]GoldenLeopard317 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women want equal pay. Men start earning less relative to women. Women start finding men ‘less economically attractive’.

It’s like there’s no thinking ahead whatsoever. If women start earning more and doing the higher paid jobs, men will appear less economically attractive. Basic maths. You can’t have one without the other. Sure, some men still earn lots more than their partners. They’re the ones that are married. The outliers are the role reversed women that earn 5 times more than their husbands.

Just make your mind up. Do you want your husband to earn more than you. Yes? Then why are you screaming about equal pay?!

The problem hasn't gone away, the authors are four years older, and them eggs don't stay fresh forever.

Tick-tock.....

[–]chiboulevards 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just pointing out that this article is from 2019... Not that it doesn't change the frustration with the thesis, but this is not new news.

[–]Noonbright 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ah right, men don't bring enough to the marriage bargain

[–]WhereProgressIsMade 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sounds like a good excuse: “Guess I won’t get married then since I’m just not marriage material.”

[–]Etere 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Holy fuck that site is atrocious, with an ad after every paragraph. And companies wonder why so many people are using ad blockers. That'll teach me not to change my default browser.

[–]NibblyPig 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

Yeah right, I'm an economically attractive man, I earn stupid money. I can't see anyone that's even worth my time. All I want is someone that isn't fat as fuck who is pleasant to be around and happy who has a few interests and hobbies and aspirations that isn't a massive fucking whore.

Haven't seen anyone matching that yet. So, single I remain.

If you're a woman struggling to find a mate, perhaps it isn't because there aren't any viable men, but rather, the men you find to be viable men just ain't interested.

[–]RunningQuestion16 -2 points-1 points0 points 3 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

Why are you so damn angry? This may be downvoted but the bitterness is not warranted.

[–]NibblyPig 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Why are you not? It's a shitshow out there.

If you don't want to listen to pushback against this kind of article, then you're in the wrong place.

[–]RunningQuestion16 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

The article is bullshit and hypocritical, but your comment is venomous and you seem to be venting about your life rather than annoyed at the article. Not all women are ‘whores’, I would guess only a few are.

[–]NibblyPig -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

My comment is a scathing indictment of the current state of dating and relationships, as observed by myself, running contrary to what is written in the article.

Not all women are ‘whores’, I would guess only a few are.

Nobody asked but ok

[+]RunningQuestion16 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Not all women are whores. To say that they are demonstrates misogyny.

[–]NibblyPig 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Ok? Not something I said

[+]RunningQuestion16 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

You said you wanted to find a woman who wasn’t a whore. That indicates that you believe the vast majority of women are whores.

[–]NibblyPig 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I want to find a woman that isn't a psychopathic murderer too. Does that indicate I think the vast majority of women are psychopathic murderers.

What's with the character attack? What are you trying to gain?

[+]RunningQuestion16 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

It’s dishonest to insinuate that saying “I just wish I could find someone who is ______” indicates anything except that that type of person is hard to come by. That’s just what it means.

I have nothing to gain by talking to people on Reddit, I just think you are angry at the wrong people, such as every single woman, and seem very bitter at not receiving something i you think you deserve, as in a woman who meets all your criteria.

[–]McGauth925 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Not all women are ‘whores’, I would guess only a few are.

You do realize that what defines a woman as a whore is vastly different from what it was in the past? That makes it something that the rest of us define; it's a moving target.

[–]RunningQuestion16 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I am aware. To be classified as a white by people now you have to do a lot more than in the past, making it less likely that a large percentage of women would be one by todays standards.

The Western world makes me angry

Where are all the wealthy Chads that are worth my time to divorce grape and return to the cock carousel.

[–]Imaginethinking20 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Always the mans fault because women are perfect

[–]dizustin_honda_wmen 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You are not entitled to a marriage honey.

[–]Morden013 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, please do set another imaginary hoop for the men to jump through. Congratulations on pulling so many out of your ass, because this stuff didn't come out anywhere near the brain.

Stuff like this shows that the modern feminists and idiots who are stupid enough to put this puke in writing, are nothing but spoiled children with less logic than an amoeba.

If they had any logic, they would ask themselves:

  1. Wait, didn't we just the whole society upside down, just a couple of years ago, to close that imaginary pay-gap?
  2. Are we, at this point, really saying we don't want to be equal and men need to be paid more?
  3. Is the money everything we look for in a man, or are we able to find other qualities important - like the character of a person?

Nope. So expect more of these articles on a weekly basis.

[–]Enmanyan-V 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So… It’s men’s fault that women have ridiculously high monetary standards?

[–]LocksmithBig4103 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Are we honestly surprised at this point? I seriously wish I was.

[–]PrudentWolf 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wish they could define "economically-attractive men" term.

I could make a list why man from UK should not marry, even if I never been there and probably never will. And these "journalists" brought none of them and just write some nonsense.

[–]Sandwhale123 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Maybe lower your unrealistic standards?

[–]McGauth925 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Or, do without marriage.

Women are driving a lot of this; they're the ones deciding that they'd rather not marry a man who isn't as educated, and who doesn't make at least roughly the same money that those women do.

[–]Obliterous 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wow, that article is almost 4 years old!

[–]Realistic_Practice16 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Should be renamed to ‘Superficial women to blame for decline in marriage rates’

[–]AaViOnBando 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But lack of feminine women isn't to blame for this decline?

Inflation of egos due to social media isn't? Hook up culture isn't??

[–]Vaudeville_Clown 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And don't forget that if a well rounded man with a median income happens to choose a kind woman who has many good things about her but just doesn't make very much, perhaps she's working the register at Costco, well then, HE CAN'T HANDLE A STRONK WOMYN!

Like, all the Queen Bees are entitled to have first pick, didn't you know?

[–]slick4hire 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"The researchers also stated that many racial and ethnic minorities, specifically African American women, were experiencing especially low of economically attractive potential mates."
