Who are you to decide how much a person should earn? Should a person who makes and sells goods have a salary cap that you decide? What if I make soap and sell 2 billion bars a year for 2 bucks a bar? Am I not entitled to that money? Go take economics.

You're only proving my point.

Now, apply that to your comment. Your whole comment just goes off in a tangent about whether anyone should be earning that amount of money, rather than about whether men and women should or should not earn and were or were not earning the same amount of money, which is what we were talking about.

What part of declining middle class aren't you comprehending, Riktrat?

Okay; so we are still living better than folks in Somalia. That argument is irrelevant to the context because the issue is that the average citizen is not being paid what the American standard of skilled labor would merit in the rest of the first world economy. 40 years ago, our Middle class was prosperous because of the fact that our workers were being genuinely paid their worth for producing goods that were at the top of the stratum in the world economy.

But because profiteers have taken over our industries, we are now producing shabby second-rate goods and workers are barely being paid less than three-quarters the worth of their labor output, while the CEOs and upper-end shareholders are making nearly 50 times what their predecessors made in the past.

Stop trying to rationalize corporate greed, Riktrat. It's just flat-out wrong; however you spin it.

please, those first ones are called aging. And in no way are at the least cause a shorter life directly.

Not really, they make more money in the few years they play, but those are short careers, while b.ball, soccer, etc. Take a much longer time to retire and leads to more money.

80hrs of work a day.. so bad? You know how you probably like to play games, beach, family? well this things and more are sacrifice for this. It is their choice to work those hours but much like the athletes who get their bones broken doing what they love, that is what they sacrifice for it.

SO if the athlete deserves 15 million a years for "sacrificing" his body for entertainment and doing what they love, why isn't the CEO who leads a company that contributes to society in a much "greater" way that what sports do, and sacrifices his/her life for it, why doesn't s/he deserve to earn that or more?

And keep in mind they just play a game, She "leads" a multibillion dollar company that thousands of people depend on.

Yes, but that is the path they picked. You have to keep in mind from your teens to your mid 30's is your physical best as a human. As the mind if all goes well it won't go dull. The athlete has a small windows for the reason that it has only around 15yrs of probably being an elite athlete before you fall behind the young people. As the mind is the opposite if you do well you get smarter and deal better with problem, this is why people always want to hire people with most experience.

Yes it would suck if she just got 14mill to be the face, but i don't know the reasons she was hired for. She could be 100% qualified for it, or she might just be a 40% and was just hired as a tool. Granted her future is probably filled with high paying jobs, but for all we know she "earned" it with life of work. Now, if she didn't and gets fired, maybe another better person will take her job.
