Remember, a 16 year old girl who willfully engages in sex with an older teacher or even a same-aged fellow student was raped because underage children cannot consent and aren't mature enough to make informed decisions about such matters. Her youthful naivety was exploited! It doesn't matter whether she wanted it. It doesn't matter whether she initiated it. It's rape.

A 14 year old boy who gets fucked by his teacher though? I mean, clearly he wanted it. What young boy wouldn't jump at the chance of sex with their semi-attractive older teacher?

Listen up, feminists. That is actual rape culture. A fucking court judge telling a young boy that he's not a victim because he (should have) want(ed) it is the most glaring example of an actual, honest to God rape culture I can imagine.

I'm glad this guy gets it, it's stupid the double standards everyone has on it that's the problem and already in the comments page for that image there are people trying to dismiss it.

At the age of 14 I would have probably jumped teachers like that and not given a fuck ( I had a pretty good understanding of sex at the time so I could hardly be called innocent :P ) but everyones different, if somebody says no or doesn't understand what's going on then it's fucking assault or rape, no matter how you try to spin it.

Pisses me off the way those fuckers in the comments pages will scream about the men doing this but immediately jump to the defence of women claiming it's 'just' a relationship. Simple thing for me is, you either treat both genders the same, or make it so having relationships with consenting 14+ year olds isn't illegal, that really is just how I look at it.

By the way, I thought I recognised him and that's Larry Wilmore from the daily show.

I'm not a huge fan of these state-to-state legal differences. In NY (where Wilmore films) 17 is the legal age. A teacher in NY who has sex with a 17 year old student should be fired and prevented from ever teaching again, but should not serve a prison term.

I agree with everything, except the "sexually assaulting a minor" part. The age of consent is 16 in Penn. This woman abused her authority, willing participant or not, the punishment should be equally applied. Lauren Cooper got 23 months for sex with an 18 year old student (with possibly others, I don't remember all the details), while I still think it's not quite enough for abusing your position it's definitely better than this ruling.

When underage girls have sex with their teachers, or someone older or whatever, it is still the same situation. They want to have sex with their teacher, in their minds they are "jumping on that candy", just as much as the male student in this case.

But the law is the law specifically because these minors would "love to jump on that candy". That's the whole point.

When I was 17 I knew exactly what sex was, I knew what it entailed, I knew I wanted it, and I knew that if I had the opportunity to bang my teacher (or better yet, if she wanted to bang me) I would've taken it in a heartbeat and owned the fuck out of it. Nobody in that situation is getting harmed.

If a high school boy didn't want to have sex with his teacher then he can complain. But I find the likelihood of high school boys not wanting to have sex with their teachers is very low. More like a dream come true.

If that's unequal then fuck it, imma get mine unequally.

I don't know about calling it sexual assault at 17, but it's something.

But, my concern about the whole thing is boys being conditioned to accept it and think it's "cool". Then years later it comes crashing down on them.

That's why we have these rules to begin with. To prevent that sort of thing from happening, the effects of this aren't always immediate. You don't really know how something is going to turn out years later.

How hard is it to not fuck your students? I mean honestly, be responsible adults for fuck's sake. Is that really so much to ask?

I agree that men and women who have sex with teens should be treated the same. Giving women a longer sentence would do this. I do not think giving women stiffer sentences is the best solution. I would rather see men get lighter sentences. The criminalization of sex has gone way to far and we should be trying to bring it back to a sane level. Men and women are different. Men will always be prosecuted more for sex crimes. As MRA I think we need to decriminalize sex.

PS and lets git rid of the sex offender registry for all but the WORST sex offences if not getting rid of it all together.

Stop trying to turn the 17-year-old into some kind of fuckin' martyr. 30 days in jail for the teacher is too much, not too little. And that applies to both genders.

Can we stop trying to be feminists and stop hailing posts like this as if they are a breath of fresh air?
