None of the statistics in the article have any references.

This article at least is more scholarly. You will note that in terms of accidents/mile (or km) that the accident rate is similar between UK males and females.

Also, the scholarly article that both of these articles are quoting does not make the link between motor vehicle deaths and deaths of children in motor vehicles. That is a leap of imagination by the author in the original post. I have seen other studies that show that males tend to only kill themselves in deadly crashes because they are driving by themselves. Also, that women tend to drive children more often and are therefore responsible for a higher percentage of automotive accident induced fatalities in children.

In short, it is a poorly written article.

I am writing you to express my offense and indignation at a certain article on your website written by Jim Pollard, which calls for draconian and unacceptable measures to be taken to prevent males from driving automobiles, on the basis of pseudoscientific and unsupportable claims. Don't more men drive than women? I don't really look at other drivers when I drive but when I was younger I saw many more male drivers than female drivers...

I never understood the argument to increase driving age. You're not fixing the problem, only moving it. A 21 year old with no driving experience is just as dangerous as a 16 year old with no driving experience.

Instead of increasing the age required for a driver's license, it should be decreased. Driver training should start as early as 13 or 14, maybe even 12. That way by the time they're 16 and can get an actual license they will have 2-4 years of experience driving and will be safer at it. That is unless you subscribe to the "male's brains are not fully developed until their mid-20s (or ever!!)" theory, in which case then of course you would think males should never be allowed to drive.

There's a woman in the capital region of Finland who stops at crossings to let children cross the road-but then hits them with the car when they're in the middle of the road. She hasn't been caught yet.

According to these feminists she'd probably be disregarded as a "special case". However if it was a man instead, all hell would break loose amongst them.

This is an outrageous lie. id like to point out that they don't give references to where they got that 94% and also id like to share some truths. i spend most of my work day driving and during the work day, about 3/4 of drivers on the road are male plus most women dont spend all that much time driving compared to men so it is only reasonable to see how men do cause a higher percentage of accidents. however, 94%.... are you off your fucking rocker..... and secondly.... can i buy some pot from you?

BZZZT - Just checked NHTSA's website for statistics, and its closer to a ratio of 3 to 1, or 2 to 1.

Men are responsible more often, but nowhere near 94%. That's so exaggerated its just plain dishonest.

Young adult drivers 21 - 25 F/M: 24% to 76%, a 1 to 3 ratio. slowly goes down to over 65 F/M: 43% to 57%, almost 1 to 1.
