Well I love black eyeliner/lipstick/nail polish wearing dudes so I may not be the best judge but...

If I found out my guy wore subtle makeup I would most likely be fine with it. It'd be weird being the one that doesn't wear makeup in the relationship, but only in a funny/bizarre way. As long as he is happy and chill with me not usually wearing any we would be fine.

i wouldn't care... but i also preferred the guy who was judged to have spent a lot of time on his appearance, and i don't care if he's not an uber-manly dude to begin with... so no surprise there.

i don't find hypermasculine guys all that exciting or attractive, so it wouldn't bother me to be with a guy who isn't that (and honestly, i'd probably just be happier).

No, not at all. The issue I think both genders experience is when it looks overdone. Personally, I think spending too much time on your appearance is a turn off, and likely makes you incompatible to me. That being said, appearance is still important and there's nothing wrong with an appropriate amount of time/effort which isn't affecting your daily life to an extreme degree.

I've seen men's BB cream and other forms of male makeup being sold and would highly encourage all guys to do this.

A guy bleaching his hair looks bad or unnatural? That's not true. He just has to use a toner instead of just bleaching it. A lot of times dudes just bleach it or color it straight without highlights and balayage. Btw it looks good on a black guy too.

The thing with bleached hair is that it has to match your undertone (cool and warm aren't skin colors, anyone from Rutger Hauer to Wesley Snipes complexion can be cool or warm) and it's not a simple case of darker toned people having to use a dark toffee toner either, the lightness of the hair color doesn't matter as much as the undertone. What really makes it look natural is when you color the root area just a tad darker than the rest of the hair. This doesn't even have to be a real hair color.

Also, plenty of guys slay and look flawless without being goth. There are many men who do makeup videos on youtube.

Of course i care. However, i am well aware that we all look like shit when we wake up, to some degree. My gf looks great with makeup on but is still pretty without it.

If she looked like an ogre without makeup, but used makeup to hide it, i would probably have a problem with it.

I'm fine with a guy wearing a bit of makeup. I'm always puzzled why guys don't contour their chin/jawline areas just a little... I'm not into contouring mostly because clumsy contouring on the nose is a dreadful thing, but the chin/jawline is a place where careful subtle contouring is unlikely to be detected. Also, concealer... why ever aren't guys using this more?.

I mean yeah sometimes it looks a bit too pretty boyish, but nowadays there are a lot of sexually successful guys with dyed hair, subtle makeup and a carefully trimmed rugged look.

Yeah, but I also don't get fooled by makeup, even if it's natural looking, so I appreciate the work and think it looks good, but I know if they are trying to hide some flaws. My gf only uses it like once a week/month and a little bit when she goes to work, but I often see her without it if we go on holidays or swimming.

After reading several 'rate SMV' posts, I noticed a pattern. Women dislike dolled-up looks on men

You read posts, you read what women want you to think they are attracted to. They aren't. Women in real life love dolled-up perfect men.

What does it matter that a woman has make-up on? A beautiful woman is still beautiful without it. Make-up is just common courtesy and grooming. Its lovely that a woman takes the time and effort to do it.

Tell you what. In college I had this girl in my classroom. We had classes at 8 AM and considering where she lived she probably took almost 2 hours to get to college. When you looked at her you knew she put a lot of work into her natural beauty(she was beautiful btw).

She always had her hair done. Always had make-up on. Nail polish. I never saw her twice with the same clothes. She was always so well-dressed. I had a huge crush on her. I would have dated her but I couldn't afford her LOL.

I had to content myself with just banging her :/

Definitely turn me off. I want good genetics, not a gay guy friend who gives me make up tips. The only thing I agree with is hair cuts and beard trimming, no make up or hair dye.

Dye can look good and normal on guys, I'm not sure why that wouldn'the be the case. I'm meh about makeup in general, but I certainly wouldn't mind if I found out my boyfriend wore it and I just hadn't noticed. It would probably get on my nerves if he spent hours in front of the mirror every morning.

He's way too lazy though.

The "rugged" guy in Atlas's post was some kind of TV pirate lol, nothing about that look was natural. I think a lot of guys could benefit from subtle makeup and hair/beard styling to boost their attractiveness.

I'm Army Reserve, and military guys are some of the most vain men you will ever meet. Preening at the gym, obsessing over the perfect haircut, pouring over their next tattoo, massive wardrobes (albeit often full of TapOut). I was even taught what makes a well-fitted suit from a SF/former infantryman.

Depends on how MUCH they obsess over it. They don't lecture ad nauseum over it, they just take their hobbies and image pretty seriously; for many it's up there with cars, guns, and videogames.

No, I wouldn't care. I've been with a lot of men who've been really into grooming -- it's something that they do to look good for me and the world and I appreciate it.

Subtle make-up (like eyeliner) is super hot on the right kind of guy.

The guy I ended up with, however, gives no fucks unless he has to (occasions, shoots, parties etc) and I really like that, too. I appreciate his authenticity and of/c am super pleased that he's gorgeous regardless of whether or not he tries.

I think this is also, generally speaking, how men feel about women and their grooming habits.

What changes in the morning are: smaller eyes and eye cavity, imperfect skin, messy hair. If you're horrified by what you see in the morning, that is mainly because your beauty standards are about these 3 factors, and props are you never believed that woman was truly beautiful.

I focus around the face's shape and features, it can hardly be faked through make-up. I usually prefer well defined jaws, cheek bones, round forehead, thick lips, face symmetry, face proportions (eyes are in the middle, mouth is at the quarter).

Once you find a woman that you truly find beautiful you'll still find her beautiful no matter the make-up and the ageing.

Boys need to learn to recognize coloured potato when they see one. Same goes with breast and body types.
