I hear a lot of complaints from both men and women here; men often say "women have inflated self worth" and women say "I'm sure you can land some fatty". Now, I'm aware these are probably not attempts at finding constructive solutions to the issue, but more like animals making noises, or reacting to some symbols on the screen.

But if we think about it for a moment; what would be a course of action attempting to solve this issue, if there is in fact a solution? There is one that comes to mind; lowering of standards (not one's own, of course, but another person's)

Yet again, if we think about it for one more moment; has this ever worked in anyone's favour, really? Whether someone lowers their standards intentionally or unintentionally (out of desperation masquerading as "maturity" - let's not even go there); how would this even play out positively?

"People that I'm attracted to don't seem to be attracted to me enough; therefore I am going to go for someone less attractive, so that I can feel comfortable and take them for granted and finally be happy; oh, there you are, less-attractive-person; let's try this shit!"... Of course I'm exaggerating but in principle the point stands, I think. Can this ever turn out good?
