It often correlates, as one of common reasons for having no success in dating is low social skills or other issues with creating and forming bonds like certain mental issues, being on the spectrum, low emotional intelligence, low empathy, just feeling no need for human connection etc.

From my personal sample I’d say that there are men who have friends and struggle with keeping a partner or vetting for the right one, but they can get dates and get into relationships. If a man gets zero dates, chances are high he has no friends or no close friends either. For example, a guy from my university was low-key bullied and didn’t get on well with anyone most likely because he had spectrum and didn’t get any help for it and his communication style made others uncomfortable, so it wasn’t surprising he couldn’t find a romantic partner either.

I think there is a one-way correlation. If a man doesn't have any friends, he's definitely not gonna be able to get a relationship either. But if a man does have friends, that doesn't necessarily guarantee he will be able to get a relationship.

Yes. Romantic interaction is mostly a friendship with sexual attraction. If you struggle with friendships you will struggle with romance.

Absolutely. The entire red-pill ideology seems to condense a lot of basic human interaction together in order to achieve a specific goal: sex. Asking "is this woman attracted to me" before asking "do people in general seem to like talking to me" is just insane.

Obviously there's a massive correlation. Looks, social status, and overall charisma (all of which are largely defined by innate, genetic traits) are extremely important for attracting both romantic and platonic bonds.

i think average guys and below can pretty easily make friends from similar interests and hobbies.

like if a guy plays super smash bros he can find other smash bros buddies. or if he likes cars he can find other car people.

this won't transpose the same into romantic relationships because women don't care about your hobbies.

attractive guys that can't make friends easily can make girlfriends easily though

Yes. Physically attractive people are more likely to attract friends and also more likely to attract romantic bonds. So that’s one reason why they’re correlated

I don't think so, you seem to mostly be looking for confirmation for your thoughts but from what I know many guys myself included can have fulfilling social lives but lack romantic relationships, that being said having a good friend group does make romantic relationships less of a pressing matter which I think is what a lot of guys who don't have friends or a romantic partner don't realize.

It is an interesting question.

Women tend to want social proof. I think it is more likely that a man who is an extrovert with a lot of male friends will attract your average female. I don't know if that is actually observed in practice because extroverts are exhausting to be around.

What is the difference between a friend and a romantic interest? Simple, sexual attraction. You can have tons of friends, and have the kind of mindset and behaviors that make you a very amicable person YET lack the attraction to pull relationships. Just remember Friendzone is a thing.

If you want to argue that there's a overlap, yeah kinda, but pretty minimal as the guys that are bad looking will be having difficulties pulling both friendship and relationship.

It might seem like it, but no.

As someone that usually had more girl friends growing up than male friends - it's different communication levels. Especially gamer / nerd crowds are super finicky and sensitive - more so than the average woman. As a relatively fit guy - very few women will start judging me, or calling me politically incorect - especially here in eastern europe. But men - holy fuck - they took these norms and apply them liberally like it's the 10 commandments.

Yes, having female friends means you learn how to interact with women (hint: like normal human beings) and have practiced building up the friendship that is needed for any successful relationship. It shows that you're someone people like to spend time with and have the confidence needed to start platonic relationships. You're also exposed to female friends and acquaintances that can turn into something more.

Knew many men who were good friends but couldn’t attract women. Straight men aren’t concerned about how fuckable their male friends are.

I’d say this is especially true in nerd circles. So many guys who are good friends and really present and actually quite charming but then none of those dudes get any.

It’s cause - looks are way more important to making ground.

It's so easy to get long and be liked by women. It's quite different to get them to want to fuck you. Hell, given the choice some women would rather fuck a hot guy they hate than a guy they really like who's unattractive.

No correlation. Maybe slightly if the problem is you cant talk to people at all. But thats rarely the case. Making friends and making sexual relationships are two different things. There's things you can do in friendships that you can't do in relationships. You don't really know a person till your having sex with them.

I wouldn't say there is systematic correlation, as many men manage to have fullfilling friendships while failing romantically. But there surely also are many cases of men who struggle both with friends and with romantical interests due to similar reasons.

I have many male friends(although not all that close) but terrible with romantic relationships and female friends in general actually. We just don't click.
