To actually add to this conversation constructively. The problem is CLASSISM. Money and sex is what rules our society. We must value things other than money as a society in order for this to change. Women and men must begin to value companionship, love, loyalty, other positive traits over money. Meaning if there's a good person no matter what the make financially you establish a good relationship with them because they are good people. If someone is has negative behavior you leave them no matter how many trips they take you on, what they buy you, or how much sex they give you.

Its hard to find rich people but it's even harder to find good people because people change. The good people are overlooked and seen as push overs. But they are a since of normalcy and peace which no amount of money or sex can bring you. These good people turn towards their (hate to use a bible quote) fleshly desires and contribute to hypergamy once they've been hurt.

Then they must heal but some never do. They continue to contribute to hypergamy. There was a point in your life you didn't have any concept of sex or money and you were happy. Return to that become financially stable and return to it. IDC if you have to live in a van. Because once you do this you can properly because you aren't in survival mode. Over half this world is just hurt and wont take time to heal.

I have personally never experienced women exerting each other to compete for a HVM except for on those corny shows like “the bachelor”.

How does hypergamy affect your life? What is “uncontrolled hypergamy”? Is there a way to control it?

Do you concider yourself a HVM? What makes one so? If a high value male knows he is high value, why the need to be indifferent? Why not just be? Like just be uninterested if that’s what you are.

I personally don’t subscribe to the whole idea of HVM / LVM and I honestly don’t think hypergamy is that big of an issue, even if it exists.

It is Subjectivity that determines what makes a man or women High value, there is nothing objective about it. It’s impossible to universally categorize a person as either high value or low value.

That said, I see nothing wrong with people wanting to be with someone they consider “high value”. The truth is in most modern societies, women don’t need men. Those in relationships tend to do so because they want to be with a partner rather than need to be with a partner.

Women don’t need men to survive, women would rather be single than with a partner who makes her life harder. They don’t have to put up with undesirable traits anymore, so they don’t. This isn’t “toxic femininity” or “uncontrolled hypergamy”, this is simply women wanting to be with someone who positively impacts her life rather than someone who negatively impacts her life.

You also over look the fact that modern women also possess a socioeconomic status, yet a lot of men claim not to care about about how educated women are etc. By not caring about this and claiming that it doesn’t have an impact it’s likely you are considering someone to be hypergamous when they aren’t. You are throwing the word around without considering context.

If I say I mostly only consider dating upper middle class men who are well educated with a good career, who are handsome and kind, what I might consider a “HVM”. Does that make me Hypergamous?

From the title it seems like you want society to control hypergamy but in the body text you just refer to controlling toxicity.

I think trying to impose something they dont want is harmful so i disagree, it is in the nature of the woman to be hypergamous and we cant change that. That is just the way it is.

According to red pill theory, hypergamy is strictly biological. Meanwhile, toxic masculinity/femininity is, definitionally, a product of socialization. These two things have nothing to do with each other, unless you’ll argue that being attracted to attractive men is learned behavior.

Some women don't think it's a real thing, but I've experienced jealous, petty women trying to compete with me for a man. It's funny because before I'd even be dating someone, these same women wouldn't give the guy the time of day or look his way, and same happened once I ended things with the guy. But when I was with him, certain women would come out of the wood work. I remember one coworker would look at me as she was flirting with my then-boyfriend - it was 100% a competitive play. I didn't feel threatened but I just thought it was interesting.

With my ex, same thing happened. Random women would try to flirt with him. Of course, none of these women were actually very attractive. They were all less attractive than I am, but they were trying to compete with me. It wasn't even about my then-boyfriend. My ex at least understood that as he was trained in human behaviour and noticed patterns, but a dumb guy (like my other ex I worked with) wouldn't realize this and would genuinely think he's suddenly way more attractive than he is. Unfortunately, I've noticed that by dating someone, they genuinely suddenly feel way more attractive (and this happens more so with men who didn't get as much attention as me before we dated) so it's another reason why I actually prefer to be with a man who's attractive and is used to attention and knows not to get too affected by it. Someone who's savvy to the nature of certain women.

I'm not saying all women do this, but I do think there is something to be said for the competitive nature of women. They see a man with an attractive woman and suddenly he seems more appealing, or she genuinely wants to compete with her. It happens a lot with traumatized women with daddy issues, too. Hence why I am not really much of a "I support all women" feminist - there are some shitty women out there, I've been burned quite a few times over their jealousy/envy, so I'm not of the mentality that all women are "good" and to be trusted. Though I trust attractive women (of a certain calibre) more than average or sub-par women, because they feel less of a need to compete as we're similar and there's no "proving" anything to themselves. They get enough attention and don't feel as inadequate, at least in my experience.
