I think it's fair to predict that in the near future, we would eventually have technology to build ultra-realistic AI bots. Robots that look, feel and behave exactly like your fellow humans, to the point where you would have no way to distinguish between them and actual humans.

So assume there's no AI takeoever and we will always have them under our control. Assuming that every person can purchase multiple bots at affordable prices, do you think they will solve everyone's problems discussed here at PPD?

Assumptions:

  • You can purchase multiple bots at affordable prices
  • You can easily program the bots however you want, including appearance and behavior
  • The bot will always obey your commands. You can make it your personal assistant, you can make it your partner, you can fuck it, shit on it, have it cook for you, help you job-searching, whatever.
  • For purposes of discussion, ignore issues relating to AI consciousness and ethics. They are and always will be robots.
