I've been a barber for 19 years and a cosmetologist for 9 I have women ask all the time if I "know how to cut women's hair" ... oh no my fragile masculinity has been offended lmfao I just say "well we're going to find out"... also as a barber there are certain things I'm not confident in my skills to do and it's my responsibility to relay this to a client so they can go to someone who will give them the results they want.

I went to a barber once that was men only in the back to the point where my girlfriend was not aloud in the back, she waited out front (closed off). It didn't matter on the hair cut it was a men's only space. Don't like it then go elsewhere, that's what I did.

If you want a barber to cut your hair, it helps to talk in their language. 💯 she went in all wishy washy "well kind of short on the sides, but short but long on the top" and the barber went "lady, you need a salon," and she lost it.

Barbers are like contractors. If you give them exact measurements, they will give you them.

"I keep it 7 inches on top, but do a high skin fade on the sides" is all she had to say. But she didn't. You can literally go into a barber shop and they like it if you tell them the name of your cut and the measurements you like. Crew cut, ivy league, butch, undercut. It's not hard!

Close to me is the local gym I subscribe to, but I cannot go to it, because it is WOMEN ONLY. Mind you, ONLY this branch is women only, the same franchise has stores in many cities that accept a unisex crowd.
