There are just under 32M account records.

About 30M records have NULL in all columns except City, Zip and birthdate Unless you are from a small town, the City + birthdate does not mean much. Also, it could easily be a random made-up value.

About 2M records with Full name, Address, zip, phone number, birthdate. These folks are screwed

Apparently, there are docs that show revenue growth by year (not sure if its just percent or actual numbers) but apparently, the site is real, the members are real, they also released credit card transaction data showing real revenue.

I think this is getting blown out of proportion.

I read on an article that the user base of that site was around 90-95% male. If that's true, these women are either superwhores from the planet Slutulon, or, what I think is the case, the site is just really well marketed to give poor desperate married fools a hope. They are selling the illusion that this will be hookup central if you just pay the fee, AND your wife will never find out!!! And I mean come on, if the male/female community of that site is so badly skewed to begin with, we all know what's going to happen boys. The top 10% male will bang 90% of the females there. I think it's safe to assume most men probably don't get a lot of action on that site.

So what are we getting "leaked"? I'm guessing it will be a long, sad list of men in an unhappy marriage. They took to that site to tentatively "test the waters" to see if they could get a little play outside their relationship (remember, they are not selling hookups, I mean we got Tinder now - They are selling anonymity). And then they didn't, and probably unsubed, but they are still on record.

Yeah it would suck if you happen to be a dude who's girl was in the 10% of the user base going out on you but, again, you broke frame for anything to ever get that far. But I don't think the narrative will become "Guys, see if your wife is cheating on Ashley Madison!!" it's going to be "Women, see if your husband's name is on this list, and if it is, let the unholy bitchfest begin". Most will probably either take the money and run or try to leverage it into a "payback" affair of their own, in full knowledge of their husbands.

Don't think for a minute this will be in any way a benefit to men. This will be spun to fit the female narrative just like everything else is in this country.

Honesty I don't think this going to effect all that many marriages. You have to download the list from a TORRENT. How many women do you know, that have any idea what a torrent is, or how to download one? Not many. Torrents are for computer savvy people. More guys will find out about their wives, but once again not everyone knows what torrenting is.
