just another good reason not to get married at all.

[–]1kingofpoplives50 points51 points52 points 11 years ago (42 children) | Copy Link

Marriage is dead. Monogamy is dead. Polyamory is the future. This shit is already happening. It has mainstream backing. The trend will only accelerate.

Either you're an unattached alpha, drowning in pussy, or you're a sad sack beta, paying out the ass for occasional duty fucks (in between cuckings), or worse, an incel.

We're gonna see a few men fucking like crazy, while more and more drop out of the sexual market entirely.

[–]TRPtophan 12 points12 points12 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Dude, wake the fuck up.

Yeah, I agree monogamy is dead. But....

Polyamory unabashedly favors women. The goal is to change men's natural, instinctual polygamous nature into polyandry.

Just be a man, not a polyamorous man. Drop that label. You will have much better sexual success if you do.

[–]1kingofpoplives6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

Polyamory unabashedly favors women.

No, it favors alpha males AND women.

Drop that label.

Never said I use the label. Plate spinning is polyamory, whether you use the label or not.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, it favors alpha males AND women.

No, just women. I guess it really depends on how many children the Alpha can afford once the females get the state involved.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I think Polyamory is the comfortable next step for married betas. I'm beta and married to an asexual, we just had the talk about moving to an open/poly relationship. We have 2 kids and I'm a part time dad but I have my needs and I don't want to lose them.

[–]RP_Student7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"My wife doesn't like fucking me." =/= "My wife is asexual."

God, shouldn't that be obvious at this point?

[–]Shiningknight1243 points44 points45 points 11 years ago (29 children) | Copy Link

I think you spend too much time on this subreddit. Marriage is declining, but people are generally going for serial monogamy. And there isn't much evidence cheating is any more prevalent than it was 20 years ago.

[–]TheReasoner9416 points17 points18 points 11 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

Women are making a strong push for polyamory, I know hardly any young women that still want monogamy. Give it another 10 years polyamory will be considered the norm. These sluts are everywhere, you don't have to spend a lot of time on this subreddit to realise that.

[–]Shiningknight1246 points47 points48 points 11 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

I know hardly any young women that still want monogamy.

Confirmation bias. Almost all of the young women(early to mid 20s) I know either want to be single or in a monogamous relationship. And statistics show that the majority are still aiming for monogamy. The reason it appears that way is that women who want to be sluts are hanging out with other sluts, while women who want monogamy hang out with other women who want monogamy.

If most of the women you know want polyamory, you are just in a slutty culture.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I feel like you are getting into a NAWALT sort of spiel.

Ya ya ya, I know all about confirmation bias. But there is also the points where women who identify as wanting monogamy and "practice" it find loop holes in the trend that curb the slootness, so to speak.

IE. Having "breaks" while in a monogamous relationship which is always used to fuck a dude they have been pining over. Fucking a dude when their boyfriend "upsets" them and then rationalizing it in some way that puts the fault in the boyfriends corner and "forces her" to cheat. Meeting an ex and fucking them just to rationalize it as a one off thing that can't be considered cheating, of course.

Then there is the case that more women than not fucking say they want one thing and practice another. C'mon man.

[–]Shiningknight128 points9 points10 points 11 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Women are hypergamous, but really, not all of them do one night stands. A fair number actually do stick to sex in relationships.

I have found it does depend on geography a lot though. When I was in Austin, most of the women were sluts. Now that I am in a smaller more conservative area, most of them are monogamous.

[–]BrunoOh10 points11 points12 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This. Not all women ride the carousel, but they're all watching it.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

When I was in Austin, most of the women were sluts

haha I had a ex that went to school in Austin.

She was a definite sloot. I'm sure it has to do with the night life and University of Texas being right there.

[–]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Been all over the country, I've fucked enough wives and girlfriends to know that more are cheating than will admit it. They're all sluts, some simply hide it better or don't have the opportunities to cheat. I hear the husband bragging about how good his wife is, doesn't cheat, and how much he trusts her because she'd never do that. Meanwhile my cock still smells like her and my load is in her ass. The funny thing is, I'm not the only one on the side.

Awalt.

The more religious appearing are simply the most discrete. Watch out for your own confirmation bias.

[–]DarkyDarkskin0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

What is the most surprising affair you have consumated? Im interested.

[–]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours-2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Married mom, married daughter, not at the same time. Mom was first, about February, daughter was March - April. Both were lazy enough to get caught, both betas took them back.

Least surprising but most fun, 22 yo with Bf, 44 yo me, 3 way with our mutual female friend.

It's not really a challenge to fuck a taken chick, and most of the attractive ones have a branch already. Simply appear better than her branch and she will make a grab and fuck you to attempt a swing. I'm 5'8 and fucked the wife of a 6'3" guy who made 150k a year. Had nudes and her playing with toys on webcam within an hour of talking to her online. I was in Korea, she was in the states. Got a blowjob in the local Walmart parking lot when I came home on leave, then fucked her every time I came back for two years.

[–]antidoxdevice0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Where do you live? I have a feeling small towns would be different to large cities

[–]Shiningknight120 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I actually mentioned that in another post. I live in small town Texas and used to live in Austin. huge difference.

[–]SportingCP210 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Perhaps, but this is the way it is for women in my culture. I'm from Los Angeles, polyamory and open relationships is the norm for women here.

[–]Endorsed ContributorTDCRedPill0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If most of the women you know want polyamory, you are just in a slutty culture.

I think that's exactly what he's saying. He's right. The push for poly and cucking is everywhere. Single mothers are revered for, with societal and monetary incentives. If you agree in the 80/20 problem existing, then you have to see how it's being pushed for way more in the mainstream, and is beneficial in both the long and short terms benefits for women. It's inevitable, even if you disagree that it's happening immediately in noteworthy amounts.

[–]destraht1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Marriage is broken as a legal instrument so just use trusts to setup an environment that is fairly similar. You can create a trust legal structure that encourages the arrangement to be preserved rather than destroyed and picked over.

I'm thinking about this from another angle and that is I want to marry a woman in Ukraine and I'm here now just living (and not specifically looking for a wife on a short term trip) and the problem here is that a woman would not have enough guarantees from me that I wouldn't split and so I would setup some structures that would give her some long term guarantees if she gives me 2-3 children and the best years of her life.

I'm thinking that in America you need to drastically limit her options but over here I think that its fair that I'd put a few more on the table for her as in reality a marriage here wouldn't lock me down in any way that would give her that kind of comfort.

[–]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You can get her 20s easy enough, but then you pay her until shes mid 40s for child support.

They can try to make me commit and be exclusive, but it won't happen. I'll get what I want and withhold everything.

[–]destraht0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You can pay her whatever you want or close to nothing but I do believe that there is some magic range that will buy you more easy years.

[–]PlanB_pedofile0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sounds like FWB into your 30s.

[–]Kolbykilla-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Your crazy if you don't think women want monogamy. Believe me if your an alpha guy who has his shit together women want to lock that shit down and make a baby. Must not be as good as you think if this is the case.

[–]SportingCP210 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm often the back up. Not to drive her around and buy her shit, but for when she wants to be hate fucked and have her ass turned into a playground.

[–]1kingofpoplives1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Marriage is declining, but people are generally going for serial monogamy.

The masses are followers, they lag behind the trend. Especially in modern cultural centers, more and more people are becoming openly poly. The masses will catch up.

Just think of how fast supporting gay marriage became a de facto mainstream opinion. This is on the same track.

[–]randomtask20050 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We are living in the antibiotic bubble.

One of the reasons monogamy had been pushed the last umteen thousand years is that VD doesn't spread well without sexual relations. In millennia past, it would be referred to as "God smiting the wicked". The antibiotic boom has allowed for us to get ill and get better with little consequence. That period is coming to a close. It will snap right back to how it was 150 years ago when diseases were untreatable.

Biology is more precocious than technology.

[–]PlanB_pedofile0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Forgot the third stage, Dad's.

There's a few good fathers around. What really happens is you pop out a kid and the pussy dries up. Not on her part but also yours because raising a kid is a lot of work. Mine is nicknamed "Cockblock" because that's what the little shit does, cockblock me when I'm about to get my sex on. Damn kid is psychic.

I don't mind it. My Testosterone is lowering because of age and I've found pleasure in mentoring my little one about life and the world. My legacy trumps pussy.

Absolutely disgusting. I can't believe the comment that compared this to people that were against interracial dating. If you don't let other dudes ram your wife then you're like a racist?

Like Tomassi said, their could be a future where husbands that refuse to let their wives sleep around could be viewed as controlling and emotionally abusive. Just sickening. And did you guys catch the part where she said that marriages are transactional. Another reason to not get married. If you want to be a slut then get the fuck out, but i'm not gonna finance it.

[–][deleted] 24 points25 points26 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Yup at first its gonna be a bunch of ultimatums:

  1. Either I'm leavin you (divorce rape), or
  2. Let me jump back on the CC

Which will the develop into all the women that carried that out gossiping about their sexcapades with heir friends. Which will of course lead to more of the above as people get jealous of the their friend's new found freedoms. Rinse and repeat and you have a new standard mode of operation.

This will only help to exacerbate the 80/20 rule. Its going to be a 1%ers dream and everyone else's nightmare.

[–]NidStyles2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Think about what this will do to the population.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Like the first poster said, its just going to be normal. People will fuck around and in the event they decide to get married they will keep fucking around. Marriage will be a hollow institution whereby the man agrees to pay for the children in exchange for nothing.

Marriage rates will continue to decline until its just a dead letter. Then the new norm will be single-mother "families" supported by copious amounts of child support payments.

There will also be a correspondingly large amount of men (perhaps the majority of men) who are unable to get steady action. But unlike their Asian counterparts, I don't expect them to sit idly by and chew on grass. That is of course, unless they are well programmed from day one to accept their pitiful fate.

[–]sedatedinsomniac5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

More likely men all over Western Civ will get vasectomies and our reproductive rate will drop off a cliff...worse than it already has.

With the threat of child-support being a reality regardless of marriage, the male subset of the population that engages in slutty behavior will embrace vasalgel the instant it or some similar product becomes available.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Seriously do these dumbasses not understand there's a saturation point where marriage 2.0 gets SO bad not even BP men will engage in it? It will continue to decline the more and more fucked up it becomes. And shit like this just destroyed the last remaining pillar BP men had to look forward to in a marriage: exclusivity.

[–]sedatedinsomniac6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They aren't thinking that far ahead. For them, it's all about instant gratification with no eye towards the long term or near term consequences.

[–]bitches_be_crazy860 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think they will make it a law that regardless of whether you are the father or not you will be forced to pay. Or they will outlaw DNA testing. They managed to bring rape culture and consent can be withdrawn so they might as well invent any BS

[–]PlanB_pedofile1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

they decide to get married they will keep fucking around.

Seems like those swinger events. Or in the 70's when they had Key Parties.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

where husbands that refuse to let their wives sleep around could be viewed as controlling and emotionally abusive

When I was away from my ex gf for a month I got into huge fights with her over going to clubs. The club may seem harmless to the uninitiated, but I'm not stupid now nor was I back then. I felt like a girl grinding her ass into a random dude's crotch surmounted to some sort of cheating. It is sexual contact in my eyes. Guys usually get hard and the chicks know it. She couldn't understand and was labeling me as controlling and such a terrible person for not being ok with it.

No one dances in the club anymore especially hip hop clubs which is the ones she goes to. Modern day clubs are fucking human mating centers where females dress up and let males vie for their affection like male spiders do to impregnate female spiders. They aren't going to let some ugly sonuvabitch grind on them.

I honestly don't trust any girl to not cheat if she is willing to get that intimate with a dude while in a relationship. First grinding, then touching, small talk, and kissing is inevitable if the dude knows what he is doing.

[–]alpha_buffalo11 points12 points13 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

TRP is amazing, I literally thought there was something wrong with me because as a rule of thumb I will absolutely not tolerate dating a woman who finds it permissible to frequent nightclubs and even worse dance with other males.

It happens all around me and everyone seems to think its ok , ''just having fun'' as they say? Really ? Not in my world, im not that blind. The Second a woman does anything that stimulates any sexual organ with any male other than her partner, its if you want to say ''attempted cheating'' and it can't go without repercussions''. Leave her immediately.

[–]PlanB_pedofile3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The dry humping is them fulfilling their sexual CC without "technically" cheating.

Do married men go to strip clubs? They'll be shamed if they did so. The club is a woman's "strip club" where she can grind her ass on random dudes.

[–]BlackHeart890 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

For the record whenever I got to a hip/hop club, the vast majority of women are either dancing with other women, by themselves, or just sitting around looking pretty. They literally go there just to be seen and dance. At first, I thought my game was wack or I was unappealing in the club scene. But as I watched more closely, the women generally didn't seem interested in anyone in the club except each other.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yea, I agree. What I meant is that if a chick dances with a guy it is most likely because she really wants to dance with him and finds him appealing.

Other than that the club scene is such shit at picking up chicks compared to other scenes. A smaller bar with a small area for dancing is better at picking chicks up, for example. Sometimes its more the venue that is the problem than a person's attractiveness.

[–]TheReasoner9410 points11 points12 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Well said, these sluts we call women are fucking out of control. It makes me sick to think these whores are gonna be raising kids and brainwashing their sons into being future beta cucks and daughters future cock hungry, immoral sluts. What a messed up view women have of love and relationships these days.

[–]scarletspider35 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I still can't believe that some peoples mind has been so corrupted that they don't even see a problem.

[–]DarthRoach5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women have no view on anything. That's why they were kept in the kitchen for so long. They only understand hedonism.

[–]1grendalor36 points37 points38 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Note how the husband is not interviewed, and the article never says that he has any action of his own going on at all outside the marriage. My guess is that he does not, and this is a fairly standard situation where the guy's SMV is in the tank compared to his still-in-shape cougar wife, and so he's fucked up the river without a paddle.

Bastard had no choice, really. I mean I'm sure she basically told him she wants to fuck other guys (and girls), and so either she's going to do it while they are still married, or she's going to ass-rape him brutally and remorselessly in a divorce after he has worked his life to support her and the kids. Guy was fucked -- had no chance. Made a horrific choice to marry a divorced ho of a wife, and that's what you get when you make a colossal fucked up decision like that.

Of course, don't marry. But if you MUST marry, fucking don't marry a divorced ho who had an affair which broke up her first marriage, just because she is a nice piece of ass. Don't be stupid, gentlemen.

[–]ioncloud94 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

He still has the choice to get in shape and fuck girls 20 years his wife's junior. That'll put a stop to it real quick when she sees how much better he is getting out of it.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

won't put a stop to his divorce-rape tho

[–]PlanB_pedofile6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

sometimes you gotta swallow the divorce rape and move on. Better to be a poor man happy than a rich man with zero dignity.

[–]Endorsed ContributorBluepillProfessor1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Look up Rollos SMV chart. You are wrong that the guy is fucked just because he married a ho. He is fucked because he insists in remaining a oneitis dope.

Women's fun is on the tail end, it's like a sprint. Ours has a really late start, but we blow up in our 30's, which makes total sense. That's 9 years away, though. It sucks but I gotta focus on the now. To capitalize on the future, you gotta focus on the present.

[–][deleted] 153 points154 points155 points 11 years ago (57 children) | Copy Link

“If you look at marriage, it developed as a survival strategy and a means of raising kids,” Wade said. “But relationships are no longer a necessary component of life. People have careers and other interests — they can survive without them.”

Yeah women can survive because daddy government is holding a gun to responsible single men's heads and forcing them to pay taxes on single mother subsides that create ghetto neighbourhoods like Baltimore. Take away child support, alimony, low income, WIC, food stamps, welfare, and section 8 and see how far these "independent womyn" get.

Yup. I just moved into one of the nicest apartments in my city in southern California. I pay 2600 a month and have to have a roommate to do so. Guess who moves in to the unit next to me. A single mother on low income credit with 2 kids. Same size unit and everything. With low income, she only pays 1300 a month for a 2600 dollar apartment. Bunch of bullshit. Plus I bet she gets WIC, food stamps, and discounts on utilities. Talk about equality for all in America. She makes the life choice to have two kids and leave the baby daddy or get knocked up by a trashy dude that doesn't stick around. I make the life choice of having a full time job and getting an education plus making some on the side. Who get the better treatment here?

[–]nomad-oz29 points30 points31 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

There was a chart in the Newspaper here 2 week ago that showed A single mom with two kids earning $30k + $38k child benifits had an after tax disposable income of $66k. A single man earning $80k had an after tax disposable income of $61k.

[–]soccerplusaviation6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

That is bullshit. How the fuq is her after tax income double her pre tax income. It's like they are taking the income of single men and given it to single mothers wtf.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yup. That is exactly what they are doing. The taxes that the single man pays is going to pay for her non-taxable benefits. Top that with the major tax breaks she is getting for the kids on her actual paycheck and you got those figures.

[–]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Also the father paying child suport pays taxes on the money that she gets free, it doesn't figure into her taxable income. The amount is based of the father's gross income, so he pays full taxes despite getting a fraction of what he earns. For two years Nebraska left me with 2% to 4% of my net to live on, and they wanted more. That was between $100 and $400 a month. State law dictates they must leave $950 a month, but that includes what you pay in taxes. Your take home is shit, but they let you pay your taxes and couch surf.

[–]nomad-oz0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

On earnings of $30k tax here in Australia is $2000. The $38k is tax free Government handouts for child support. Total after tax disposable income = $66,000.

Tax on $80k is $19,000. Total after tax disposable income is $61K

There's some people born in this country that don't want to be citizens anymore because they are being leeched dry by welfare recipients and other bullshit taxation.

How are productive people supposed to be proud of living in the US? One of the reason women have so much perceived power in the West is because their lives are much more easily bankrolled by the government, which means taxing people who actually produce value.

[–]Shiningknight1210 points11 points12 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Unfortunately there really aren't any better 1st world countries. The US gives welfare to parents and the disabled, but many countries are bankrolling unemployed adults too.

How about Japan? It's a lot nicer IMHO.

[–]Shiningknight123 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Japan has a better approach to this. Japan has its own issues though, in particular a very large elderly population this is going to take a lot of money to support.

[–]destraht2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Every time someone from the government says that you need to do something it will eventually be a gun to your head if you rejected that mandate. It might start out simple but eventually it will escalate until various licenses (also free people don't need licenses) that are required to function properly in society are revoked and then when you go ahead and do it anyways its eventually a dude with a gun (if you are lucky and not a lesbian) coming to force you to not do that. A lot of people are very fine with all aspects of this.

[–]Shiningknight126 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Who get the better treatment here?

I will add that this system isn't good for the women either. It promises a glamorous life but screws them over in the long run. For one, most of them suck at finances and generally only afford these extravagant expenses thanks to debt. Second, at some point the kids move out and the welfare, child support and (most of the time) alimony payments stop coming in.

Then the single mother has to move in to low income housing and ends up working at McDonalds at 50.

[–]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Heres how I see it. She frivolously divorced her kids father to get the tax free money from him, and be able to suck any cock guilt free. She takes the short term 18 year cash grab and hopes to lock down another provider. She then does the same to him, and extends the gravy train a little longer.

Then she gets to the point my ex did last month. No more money from the father. Same place my cousin's ex got to when the $50k a year ended when the youngest turned 19. My ex got herself a spineless yes man that is her personal atm, but he's a disabled vet so he has some income. Now she has to live on $3000 a month rather than $6200 a month she got while I was her indentured servant. She just bought a $130k house, leaving her with about $1500 a month to live on. I see foreclosure within two years. My cousin's ex had to move in with their oldest daughter until she could get an apartment, no more free money, now she's working at Walmart.

The guy my ex married is 55 and failing fast, probably dead by 2020, at which point she will get $1300 a month, and she is too fat and ugly to get anyone else.

They don't plan ahead or even consider what happens when the money ends. They deserve what they get when they're broke and have to work in their old age. I had to give up everything to support that cunt since I was 28, she never worked for long, and when she did she was going to be fired for abusing the rest home residents.

Meanwhile I am rebuilding my life, and with the extra money that isn't going to her i am investing in my land and my future. I have to live longer than she does so she can't steal from my kids again when they inherit what I've built.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

True. I wrote that out of anger. But you must admit that all these social welfare programs were mainly developed and expanded by women politicians on the whole single moms have the hardest job platform.

[–]Shiningknight124 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

These programs are an attempt to eliminate responsibility for women at all costs. You married and had kids with a boring loser? Here! Have him pay you so you can end the relationship and go fuck other guys while keeping the kids.

Where its failing is that guys have free will and those of us who aren't super thirsty are opting out of the system, which is leaving women who actually want commitment out in the cold.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's the thing. Yes, we are opting out. But big daddy government is just cocking the gun put to our heads by raising taxes and expanding social welfare programs. Yes, they see that marriage rates are plummeting so they respond with upping taxes on guess who to compensate for these worthless women left out in the cold.

This is such a blue pill reply. It amounts to "But what about the CHILDREN!?"

I live in a country with no social safety net (Thailand). People get on just fine. Everyone operates some sort of side business. The fact that there is no big daddy government to rob Peter to pay Patty means that families stick together. That's why Asian families are larger and more functional compared to American micro-families. The divorce rate in the US is above 50% while in Thailand it is about 25%.

People taking care of their loved ones is much more efficient than having the government rob from one man to give to someone else. The government is a very VERY fat middleman that takes such a big chunk as to reduce the actual "safety net" to a tiny fraction of what was stolen through taxation.

Lastly, you get more of what you incentivize. When you give free money for degrees in Women's Studies and White Privilege theory, more students will study those useless ideological dead ends. When you give money to single moms you will get more single moms, because they will raise their children so poorly that they will continue the cycle of poverty and poor decision making. Hence why the African American population is absolutely fucked. The AA family survived 300 years of slavery, only to be dismantled in 50 years of liberal policies.

It's not the third world that is fucked up. It is YOUR world view that is fucked up.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not to mention, subsidizing bad choices only sets a bad example for people who have the capability to make good choices.

[–]Daily_Dosage_33 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You really need to make a post about living in Thailand.

And what you say about the AA family is true, along with a media-inspired victim mentality that keeps them down.

[–]alpha_buffalo6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Absolutely agree, im an African but live in Africa and I can't help but laugh at how easy AA's have it in America but yet are brainwashed by the media to always assume they are the victims.

Most misfortune on their part in this day and age is through bad decisions and sadly structures have been systematically created to subsidize bad decisions.

Us Africans from Africa do not know a single thing called welfare or food stamps or any of that stuff. Even with bad policies all we understand is simple theory - shut up, work hard and provide. There is absolutely no room to complain in this environment, no media, no bureaucratic channels.

I currently study in Europe and I love every bit of it and people like me, because my world view is completely different. I believe in self-sufficiency, self reliance and that excuses are an admission of weakness. This is all thanks to the environment I was brought up in. Not one where you cant find a job because you did not go to school and it's dangerous on the street but one where a masters degree can still have you unemployed, where electricity is almost non-existant, where water is manually sourced from a well, where cooking is done on fire and there is no such thing as a 911 number. Being Alpha is your only choice.

Ha! Dude, Thailand may be alright, but the third world in general is FAR from ok. Pot bellied kids, child sex slavery, massive drug cartels running entire cities. Murder on a scale that would be incomprehensible to anyone from a first world country. Being snatched from your bed as a child, watching your mother get gang raped, your father executed, a gun put in your hand, and the next thing you know your raping and executing and snatching children. Generations of nothing but profound suffering. Forget women, forget alpha, beta, game and family. poverty in the third world is FUCKED UP. The AA family survived 300 years of slavery, only to be dismantled in 50 years of liberal policies.

Look man, you sound idiotic when you make statements like this. The African American family did not survive okay? Kids were sold off. Entire families wiped out. Young African American women raped. Thousands dying every year from exhaustion, disease, etc. It did not survive. It was systematically dismantled every day for profit. You know what sounds like a blue pill mentality? being uneducated. You sir, are not educated on American history, at least not on American slavery.

Furthermore, I'd hardly call it it just liberal policies that destroy the African American family. Reagan was a conservative. His policies set the African American family back DECADES. It's not just policies that are liberal or conservative that are hurting the family unit. It's unorganic, top down policies on both sides of the aisle that are killing American families. Sometimes, its conservative policies like strict enforcement of drug laws or limiting abortions, sometimes its liberal policies like welfare. But make no mistake, both sides of the aisle are doing it.

[–]Endorsed ContributorFLFTW1611 points12 points13 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The African American family did not survive okay?

Read this. My statements about the AA family are based on the writings and lectures by Thomas Sowell. So you are not really disagreeing with me per se, but with one of the most accomplished economist / political philosophers of our time.

[+]wllm4821-8 points-7 points-6 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, Paul Krugman has a Nobel, and he argues that a safety net is essential to a modern economy. Does that mean that, since his e-penis is bigger, he's right?

[–]meet_me_at_high_noon-5 points-4 points-3 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yes, yes I am. I appreciate Sowell. He seems incredibly intelligent and well intentioned. But on this particular subject he and I will have to disagree. Slavery destroyed african american families. The evidence is clear on that.

I agree that government policies are not always in the best interest of people, hence why I am an anarchist and made the comment about how people on both sides of the aisle do dsmaging things to minorities.

That being said, the idea that you don't need some form of protection for african american communities is bullshit. Look at what happened in the south under jim crow. I have no problem disagreeing with a brilliant man when I think he's wrong.

No one I know thinks its omay or right for black people to ser themselves as victims. Mlk didn't want that. But on the other hand its important to recognize the systemic injustice inherent in the system. When you have laws that are being enforced differently for african americans and whites thats a lroblem. I don't excuse blacks for offing eachother in massuve numbers or for smoking crack. But I also have enough nuance to understand that blacks face a bigger uphill struggle than whites often do.

Howell is brilliant. But the african american communith has been having this debate a long time. Booker t washington and web dubois had it.

I'm happy to disagree with a man when I think the facts shownhe may be mistaken in some points.

EDIT: on my phone sorry for spelling errors

[–]Newdist20 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That being said, the idea that you don't need some form of protection for african american communities is bullshit.

In practice, that "protection" has been wealth transfers from working white fathers to non-working non-married black women and their bastards.

[–]meet_me_at_high_noon0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yea you're right that's a big part of it.But I think its possible to have a middle of the road kind of approach here. I subscribe to anarchist ideas. For me wealth redistribution is a capitalist and socialist policy. Its part of the problem with capitalism. It creates large wealth and monetary gaps which leads to calls for redistribution. When I say protections I mean the right to vote and equal treatment before the law not wealth redistribution.

Intervensionist big government leads to high taxes, overregulation, and economic decay, all of which make it nearly impossible for small businesses to thrive - small businesses that would eliminate any perceived need for such a safety net.

[–]rpwunder3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You forgot the biggest contributor to the decline of small business: regulation. Regulations are "agreed to" by the "Walmart's" of the world, who get a seat at the government table because they have lobbying dollars. They agree because they know they can pay the cost of regulations and "mom and pop" cannot. This is why we see mergers in all areas of industry. It makes sense to consolidate companies to reduce overall regulatory burden.

Sucks for consumers and small business owners, though.

“The single mom is better off earnings gross income of $29,000 with $57,327 in net income & benefits than to earn gross income of $69,000 with net income and benefits of $57,045.”

In the USA, even if the single mother wants to work, she’s discouraged from earning more. Why try to earn $69k when you get more benefits earning $29k?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. Especially here in California. It is almost better to have never have gotten a degree with the cost of student loans and just live off the system. If I wasn't paying 300 bucks a month in student loans and then having to pay full price for my apartment, I could easily live off welfare/unemployment and state benefits. Hell, after this year, I might just take a year off and go live in Mexico all the while using a friends addy for the benefits.

[–]antariusz1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Look at New Orleans after Katrina.

That is what happens when the support system is taken away.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No. That is what happens when one of the biggest disasters in America happens. Top that off with people living in a city that is literally below sea level. So low, in fact, that they have to build giant walls to keep the water out. New Orleans is sitting at the bottom of a bowl sunken in water.

And then comes the fact that the city is a shit hole already because the social welfare has driven most of the city into a ghetto state. It was no wonder that the city couldn't rebound. Maybe because it is packed full of thugs and welfare single mothers who only care about themselves and not their city. And let's go ahead and state the untold obvious, the white parts of town didn't have any problem rebuilding their homes. The only parts were the ghetto areas because government assistance puts its homes in horrible areas and calls it "rebuilding the future".

That is what happens when the support system is taken away.

I am assuming that you are talking about how FEMA didn't show up until late. And here is my response. When you count on government, you get let down. I am from the South where tornadoes happen all the time. Do you ever hear of FEMA going to small town Kentucky? Nope. That's because those people don't count on government. They count on themselves. They count on their volunteer Firefighters and Police. They count on the guy with the lifted 4 wheel drive truck and a chain. They count on their neighbour with a chain saw.

Now, before you go spewing your opinion, how about you learn some facts and actually take a trip to the place that you are talking about.

Most of our tax dollars fund illegal wars, but a good portion of it goes to the shit you described above. I've given fuck up's enough of my hard earned dollars (literally over $100,000) and they still have the nerve to shame me for refusing to get married/in a relationship. I'm just like dude, the government didn't give you all that shit, I did. That nice car you just bought? The alimony you live on? Maybe you should say thank you to single men instead of shaming them (we fund your cause, government charges us the most). Oh wait, that was a nuanced point. Most of US tax dollars go to paying entitlements. Social Security alone has a larger budget than the US military budget:

http://www.cbpp.org/research/policy-basics-where-do-our-federal-tax-dollars-go

However, if you slice the budget in another way by looking at both current military spending and past military spending (i.e. military pensions, VA budget, etc), you'll see that a majority of the budget is spend on both current and past military.

Military dominance is expensive, as most empires have discovered.

[–]Endorsed ContributorBluepillProfessor2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There is no way VA spending, pension, etc combined with current military spending is the majority of the budget. You could mean the majority of the non-social security budget.

Yeah, they send us off to protect oil profits, then bitch about what it costs to keep us alive or not under a bridge somewhere. People pay in to social security, I paid more social security than I did taxes most of the time. That is my money in there, but they want to use it to bail out banks and fund the oil wars.

The GOP is already calling for reductions in VA benefits and compensation, yet they are the fucks who sent us to Iraq and Afghanistan in the first place. You want a revolution? Leave war vets no means to survive. Already kids working fast food have a higher standard of living than disabled veterans that can't go out and get jobs. Veterans earned the benefits by doing what the elected officials directed them to do, and they were elected by the people, thus the people owe the veterans for their sacrifice when they come back too fucked up to work.

Yet single moms get all kinds of free shit, all they did was squeeze out some fuck trophies.

Maybe this is just bias working against me, but every time I read an article now I look to see the gender of the author.

There's a correlation between bullshit and female authors. It's not absolute, but it's there.

That’s not wrong, says Helen Fisher, a biological anthropologist and one of the world’s leading relationship researchers.

I'll bet the hamster is strong in this one.

“Nothing about this is new. It’s as old as the hills,” Fisher said. “What is new is that women are now also being more adulterous — and so people are beginning to be more open about it.”

At least she doesn't deny that modern society is fundamentally different from our natural environment.

She and her husband still have sex, still go to social functions, still celebrate anniversaries.

Read: She will occasionally starfish as a form of service fee on the limitless credit card that is her BB, use his social influence to look for new branch swings, and let him grovel when it's that time of year again.

More and more women will make this choice or consider it, Fisher expects; it’s in keeping with decades of widespread social change and women’s empowerment. Just 30 years ago, when Jessie was in her 20s, the average woman married at 23 and had her first child within the year. Her mother’s generation didn’t even leave the home. The majority simply raised kids, preached chastity and finger-waved their hair. “That’s all sliding away from us,” Fisher said. “We’re shedding all these agricultural traditions . . . [and] returning to the way we were millions of years ago.”

Millions of years ago. When we were sub-mammal creatures in the primordial gloop, maybe. There was no CC back then, or even before the rise of feminism since then, as women were treated in the way that poor little boys treat found toys - greedily, with aggresive guarding. Then came marriage and a gentler but still firm hold on one's woman. Now comes this utter shit.

Internal data from Open Minded would appear to back that up: Thus far, most of its self-declared “monogamish” users are under 33. In other words, they’re women (and men) who paid off their own student loans, fooled around on Tinder — and grew up with a notion of personal independence much different from the one taught in the 1st century A.D.

Yeah. It now goes something like 'fuk effort ur perfect lol'.

But there's hope in the comments, gents;

1 Yes...one might say marriage is joke these days and that we all ought to buy into the new 'progressive' outlook of having it all at any time while supplies last... Not me...I am content at going it alone and letting others run on empty values.

2 This article and many of the comments can be synthesized to this logic: non-monogamous relationships are common place (i.e. everyone is doing it), ergo they should be as socially acceptable as monogamous relationships. You know what else is very common - lying. People lie all the time! Perhaps we should all just promote lying as equal to telling the truth... To say nothing of the totally twisted understanding of the meaning and nature of love that a person would have to espouse in order to live such a lifestyle... If you feel this way, do the world (and your potential spouse a favor), don't get married.

3 From the article, "Dogs mate for life."
If this demonstrates the level of knowledge of the world around her or science possessed by this woman, it is reasonable to dismiss the rest of her
science" for what it is, garbage.

[–]MrRexels27 points28 points29 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The second thing I do after looking at the gender of the author (the female author to bullshit ratio is certainly strong) is to look whether the first paragraph begins with introducing the personal story of some real and/or fictional character used to deliver the story.

Seriously, every. single. leftist/progressive/liberal piece of writing starts with something reassembling ''Meet Bob, Bob is mostly normal but is/does this thing I want to write about. Now get ready to read about Bob while I deliver my crap in an emotional way while having to give zero logical arguments and facts.''

[–]2 Senior Endorsed Contributorvengefully_yours0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I should add stories about Bob when I reply to technical inquiries. Bob has a Carter carburetor, Bob installed a large cam, now Bob can't get the secondary opening to change.....

Of course the way to keep it the same would be to have Bob caress the carbs aura, and offer it milkshakes with tequila.

I love how people act like we have always fucked like jackrabbits even back to hunter and gatherer times. They seem to forget that ancient humans are essentially the same humans that we are today. They are attributing pre-homo sapien ideals to Homo Sapiens lol.

On top of that, before the modern age most people lived and died within the same community. That meant that whoever fucked and dated was essentially town knowledge. This is why you always hear about the "town slut" and so on because people actually knew this shit. It was only after the industrial revolution that we started to cement into a non-agricultural society thus putting most of the population together with millions of other people making having sex with 20+ guys not matter.

making having sex with 20+ guys not matter.

I think it does matter to the majority of men. But the problem is that there's no 'ho-fax'.

Oh I agree. Most guys would gag if they were told their gf/wife fucked even 10+ dudes before him.

It's funny because a lot of the Blue Pill guys and girls on Reddit would have you believe most people are quite alright with promiscuity.

This is absolutely disgusting. The bitch's first marriage ended in an affair. She's a slut. She probably got bored of sneaking around with her side boyfriends (yeah right a ho like that would wait until a "Big Conversation" to sleep around), went up to her husband and said "hey your dumpy, bald, prius driving ass can go try to get some but I'm going to be bringing one of my four (what?) lovers around to bang in our bedroom every now and again and if you don't like that, give me half of the shit you've spent your lifetime earning."

Another astonishing piece of stupid from the "were-just-smart-monkeys" people. Here's an alternative description of people such as Jessie: self-indulgent, self-absorbed losers unable to hold off near-term physical gratification long enough to experience the success, joy of working through life's hard times with a committed person, AKA spouse. Good thing there's an army of people with PhDs willing to make them feel okay about being self-absorbed, self-indulgent losers.

This was a fad in the 60s, called "open marriage." It led to lots of misery and divorce. If you want multiple partners don't get married. Have yourself tested regularly for STD

[–]moose_war15 points16 points17 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

One of the most disturbing things I've noticed recently is how quickly cuckolding seems to be catching on.

For one, women today seem to be completely into "open relationships"...which is really just the best of both worlds for the woman. A guy can fuck and chuck a woman and be satisfied, but women DO enjoy having the emotional side of the relationship from at least one guy. With this "open relationship" bullshit, she can get sex from the guys she wants while just getting the emotional, romantic side from some well-off beta.

Secondly, guys seem to be into it more than women sometimes. I have no respect for any man that is into stuff like filming his wife getting fucked. What a piece of shit. Even worse is FinDom. When I learned about that shit, I lost all hope for the modern man.

At this point, I have no desire to form a long term relationship with a woman. The odds seem stacked against a woman being capable of love and I can't put my neck on the line for something so dicey. Traveling the world alone, training in martial arts, lifting weights, building a career and eating good food all seem like way better time to be spent.

[–]Tarnsman4Life2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Men, specifically white men have been trained from birth if born after 1970 to believe they have original sin. The sin in this case is "oppression of women" , therefore to make up for this they feel the need to masochisticly allow women to do whatever or whoever they want. We raised a generation of cucks and beta bux. Ironically, women "really" want men of old, the men we told our boys they didn't want to be.

Women want a man who will make all the hard choices , discipline them when their childishness burns out of control. They want men who will ravish the shit out of them without asking for affirmative consent.

[–]SportingCP211 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yep every woman seems to be into this open relationship and polyamorous bs, they know they can have chad thundercocks to fuck whilst having a beta hubby to love, take care of her and be her little lapdog. It makes me sick thinking about it, thinking about how future generation children are going to be raised by whores and weak pathetic men. It's only getting worse bro, to sit back and watch society crumble is a sad thing indeed.

[–]Senior Endorsed ContributorVasiliyZaitzev26 points27 points28 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

This only gets praised when the wife goes out and gets banged. If it was hubby, he'd be a Durty Dawg. The hamster is fine, when the hamster is getting its hamster tingles, but once hubby plows some new 'tang, suddenly it will be a horrible idea. Like what happened with the "Wild Oats" project, where the wife goes out and whores it up in a domestic version of "Eat, Pray, Slut", and then gets bent of shape when hubby lands himself a younger woman.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. I'd love to see the reaction if the genders were flipped. Babe, I still love you but I really want to start banging my young, hot secretary. Oh, and I'm gonna make a Tinder profile.

At least in that situation the wife could divorce and collect payments. In this situation the guy is literally fucked no matter what. I feel so bad for this guy.

[–]isthatyourdaughter 7 points7 points7 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Exactly. I'd love to see the reaction if the genders were flipped.

You're playing checkers, women are playing chess. Read the article, this is being portrayed as women flipping the script on adulterous husbands (which is, it is implied, what all husbands once were, or at least wanted to be).

[–]SportingCP212 points3 points4 points 11 years ago [recovered] (0 children) | Copy Link

Sums it up, what we are witnessing is a rebellion from these bored housewives to try and "get back at evil men" for years of "oppression" and adultery, something women have also been doing for generations. Nothing will come of this, truth is most men wouldn't put up with that shit (not even most betas), there will always be a minority of manginas and cuckolds who accept this, and these are the women who are writing these articles trying to encourage other women to be lowlife tramps and whores, the ones with cuckold hubbys. They hold no significance in society on the whole. Articles like the one posted should be greeted with a hearty chuckle, a small shake of the head before pressing x and getting on with your life.

First of all, we are to believe that this full throated slut stayed faithful for twenty years and that her fairly prodigious philandering is only at the book ends of that monogamy. Hmmm. There's a reason she hasn't told her kids, if she was so confident this was the right thing to do why so much shame? Because you're a fucking slut that's why.

Tell me we need more women's rights.

The only plane men and women cab be equal in an economic plane.

They've succeeded in destroying the family unit. With the advent of free sex, everything had become watered down. Men are not men and women are not women.

This mode of living won't be able to sustain itself for long. Maybe a decade or two.

Once men and women become dissatisfied, they'll run to create a system where two pieces make a whole. And the roles for each of the two are specific to that gender assigned.

Even if one or two men are better are child-rearing or if a few women are better are business.

It's like this, half of India studies to become engineers. 5 percent of them are good at that shit, and even less of them get jobs. The rest are mediocre or cast aside by the world.

Tell me you want to comfort all of these people. You can't. A handful of exceptions does not negate the whole.

The world tomorrow, is devoid of any worth. It's like having meth for the 1000th time. There is no high, not anymore.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Nah. Promiscuity is just going to continue to rise. Single-mother families will become even more standard. Fueled of course by large amounts of child support payments. On the flip side, the majority of men will get laid sparingly if at all.

I think that's the system we had before marriage sans the child support. And then that group of men got sufficiently large and sufficiently angry enough for a revolution to happen and thus marriage was instituted.

There will be a major social push for normalized polygamy in the next ten years:

http://www.gallup.com/poll/183413/americans-continue-shift-left-key-moral-issues.aspx?utm_source=twitterbutton&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=sharing

[–]2popthatpill7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Yup.

1) As I explained here a while ago, the push for gay "marriage" is a stalking horse for what women really want - socially accepted polygamy.

2) If you look at the second list at that link (acceptable/wrong), you notice something unusual: pornography is less acceptable than abortion. Abortion is 45/45, whereas porn is 34/62 against. That means at least 11% of the survey population thinks that abortion is fine, but porn isn't? How does the logic there work? (That's a rhetorical question - as redpillers we all know how it works).

Too bad they didn't ask about the acceptability of hiring prostitutes - that would have been verrrry informative.

Don't trust political polls. They do fucked up shit all the time to get the answer they want.

Asking women for political answers is even worse because you can ask a question that is a 'value' question or that reminds them that they are with a BB - and suddenly their answers turn into what an extremely sheltered 12 year old Christian girl would say/think.

It's completely insane watching people lie. Men lie to protect themselves - and they know they're lying. Women lie to get what they want - and half the time; I'm not sure if it's calculated - it's just a reaction.

[–]2popthatpill2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

Well, if women were lying about the acceptability of one, why wouldn't they lie about the acceptability of the other? However true your reservations might be, they don't explain why people have more liberal views on abortion than on pornography (figures broken down by sex would be even more helpful). Are you saying that people are more likely to lie about one than the other?

The point I was trying to make is that women self-servingly support or oppose things based on how helpful/unhelpful they are to their sociosexual strategy. Abortion is useful for the female strategy, whereas pornography is bad (gives men an alternative). Hence, women will support the former at higher rates than the latter.

[–]Endorsed ContributorBluepillProfessor1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

5 years ago I dated a younger girl that was an 8. she was 30, no kids, perfect body, teeth, skin, tits, exercised, no cellulite, etc. she had a BB boyfriend when we met and she tried to use me as an emotional tampon, which I countered with "if you aren't happy come over to my house and I'll "please" you and give you the validation you seek." and no shit it worked. after about a week she came over showing her birth control implants off. after her next period she started asking for raw dog and internal cream. she had plenty proof that she was on birth control and I went for it. she never got pregnant. this woman would have sex with me, get up without cleaning herself at all, dress, and go home for her bb bf to go down on. i ended it when she told me this and asked if he could come over and watch, and get his dose of me "fresh" out of her.

Jessie already had an inkling that maybe she wasn’t quite like the ladies she saw at church

You see, she is different. That's what makes her a cheating whore - not her choice. You can't choose to be different.

She thought about cheating on her husband of 20 years. She considered bars, parties, a review of the lapses in her mid-20s. Instead, she sat her husband down and told him something that more and more progressive couples are beginning to realize.

Instead of going out there and cheating on her husband of 20 years with a stranger because one day she woke up feeling like it, she sat down with him an told him I want to fuck strangers because I feel like it and you're gonna like it. Practically a saint.

But you see, more and more progressive couples are doing it so it's totally right.

in the age of Tinder and Ashley Madison and OkCupid, they also both wanted to have other options.

Both.

And yet the article lists only her profile and talks only about her "polyamorous" life.

But he guesses that most of his 70,000 users are people like Jessie: Those in committed, conventional relationships, who realize that, statistically speaking, few modern couples stay with a single person their whole lives.

Well, statistically speaking, if you go around telling people that cheating is okay and everybody is doing it then I can imagine you'll see more of it. Statistically speaking.

But you know, statistically speaking most people do not stay with a single person their whole life so me sucking Chad's 8 inch cock on my knees in the club's toilet is totally natural and not my fault, and you shouldn't feel threathened by it.

What you say, I never done that with you? But that's because I love you and I respect you too much for acting like that with you. Of course it is.

But relationships are no longer a necessary component of life. People have careers and other interests — they can survive without them.

Yea, sure. So let's stop alimony right away then.

There’s a long history of married men sleeping around, Fisher said.

You've done that first!

And the romantic notion that relationships are anything but transactions is relatively recent.

Yea, like just some hundreds of thousands of years old, no big deal.

We’re biologically programmed to form pair-bonds, yes, but some people — many people — are also programmed to seek out variety.

You have a strange definition of biologically programmed then. When you say biologically programmed I think of things like "feel hunger when no food for a long time". But of course I am pretty sure there's many people out there that don't feel like eating after a 7 days fast.

Jessie doesn’t like that word. Adultery. It conjures images of lipstick stains and burner phones. Or worse, stonings and scarlet A’s. It also reminds her of her first marriage, which ended after an affair. She hated the lying, the sneaking around. This time, she wanted to be more honest.

She doesn't like the word - it smells of personal responsability.

She hated the lying and the sneaking around. But she loved the thundercocks. Let's keep those and get rid of the rest.

More and more women will make this choice or consider it, Fisher expects; it’s in keeping with decades of widespread social change and women’s empowerment

Yeah, women's empowerment. Like, literally. At the expense of whom?

Just 30 years ago, when Jessie was in her 20s, the average woman married at 23 and had her first child within the year. Her mother’s generation didn’t even leave the home. The majority simply raised kids, preached chastity and finger-waved their hair.

What a terrible world they lived in. All that of course while their husbands went to war, broke their backs in the fields and generally expended their life just to make so that they were safe and well fed.

But nobody seem to remember that too. And that's of course still part of the deal.

“That’s all sliding away from us,” Fisher said. “We’re shedding all these agricultural traditions . . . [and] returning to the way we were millions of years ago.”

You're so right, and you don't even know it.

I am so disgusted right now.

In 2010, Jessie approached her husband with an idea she called “ethical non-monogamy.” They would stay together as each other’s primary, lifelong partners, but they wouldn’t rule out other relationships — as long as they happened openly.

At which point he should have told her no and probably just left her.

Jessie has shown her husband her profile on several dating sites, including Open Minded. When she returns from her weekly date with one of her four extramarital partners, she tells him as much, or as little, as he likes.

One of four? Wow. This dude's wife is getting railed by four other guys. I wonder how many other girls he's fucking in this open marriage. The article doesn't really seem to go into that...

A couple of years ago the LA Times had an article about three lesbians living together and having children. The article stated at least a couple of times that this is "a growing trend" and said things like "We see more and more of these unconventional family arrangements...and they're thriving!" Zowie! That's so...diverse 'n' stuff!

This kind of horseshit has little to do with reality and nothing to do with "growing trends." Are there more dyke threesomes living together and swapping sperm donations now than there were two or three years ago? I very much doubt it. In fact, there may be fewer such arrangements today since they've always been almost nonexistent to begin with.

These stories are all about titillation and, most of all, social conditioning. The assholes who run and work in media want to sell clicks and products with sex and they also want to push "progressive" ideas on to the public. Hey, all the "smart set" is feminist or queer or shoving baseball bats up their asses! They don't so much care if you do it too so long as you become dulled to the showboating weirdness and idiocy and become afraid to criticize or call it out for what it is - abnormal and very possibly destructive to human life.

"Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, nor to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to." - Theodore Dalrymple

The whole article seemed pointless to me.

She wants an open relationship after 20 years. So what? Honestly, I always found it hard to believe that a couple could live together with one another for 20+ years and still only be exclusive to one another for the entire time.

My thing is, a man should NEVER consider sharing his woman with another man if he himself is married or plans to marry this woman. Regardless of him being completely okay with it or not, if she decides to leave for one of her several dozen on the side lovers, he's getting fucked. For every guy she fucks, that increases the chances of her leaving and fucking him over.

[–]SportingCP210 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You just contradicted yourself with your first and second point there.

[–]BlackHeart890 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

How so?

Point one is saying that one shouldn't be surprised if a monogamous relationship fails after 20+ years.

Point two is saying that you should never share your wife with another man if your aim is to be together for as long as possible.

I don't believe in the whole 20+ year thing, which is why I'm definitely against marriage. But for anyone who insists on marriage, they more than likely believe they are in it for the long haul. In which case, never share.

[–]SportingCP210 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

My bad I read it wrong. I wouldn't share any woman with other men if I was in a relationship either, however she's welcome to share me with other women. Any woman who asks to fuck other dudes is a slut and i'd drop the whore on the spot for even suggesting such shit.

No doubt, like you I don't believe in sticking to one woman for 20+ years, after a year i'm usually bored and move onto the next one lol but I don't catch feelings for them, as soon as you start saying shit like "I love you" that's when the bullshit games start and the shit tests begin. [–]the_red_scimitar0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

I think that's practically self-evident, as it takes real confidence for a man to open a relationship. Insecurities of that kind are incompatible with open relationships.

[–]Hoodwink 2 points2 points2 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Usually, it's not confidence or anything like that.. usually the wife prefers a not 'open relationship' at all. It's usually pretty one-sided and the rich man takes advantage of the woman. At least, that's what the cultural environment tells me - I don't expect the wife to go fuck male prostitutes on her vacations... but maybe she does.

In a way, I think 'alimony' is an attack against this arrangement and 'forcing' a woman to accept the arrangement because the man is rich.

There's no confidence. It's just cynicism about why the wife is there (money) and acting on it.

Where do you get the stats to back all this "usually" stuff?

I see a few others claiming stats that are not verified. I can't find ANYTHING, for example, on studies that might show who initiates these.

In fact, you claim it's usually the man who wants to. Another person posted that it's "70% the woman who wants this". So people have opinions, but are representing them as facts.

So... source, please.

Not as many as women, i'd say it's about 70/30 that the woman asks for an open relationship rather than the man.

She wasn't, she cheated in all her marriages, she never proposed this after 20 years of sexual fidelity I can assure you of that.
