I'm in the same position of getting my shit together or un-fucking my life as you were.

Redpill, Keto, & a few other subs are actually supportive of people. I'm seeing more and more issues in various subs with mods being assholes.

There are enough great subs here that I keep coming back but over all reddit has a lot bullshit from overly PC douche bags.

[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

What's funny, is that /r/steroids might be the most supportive sub on Reddit. Someone was posting about it today there.

You get a small group of individuals who can have adult conversations, and it's crazy what can happen.

[–]Dark_Shroud 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I've heard someone else say that once before.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Mention steroids in /r/Fitness and it's like you shat in everybody's soup.

[–]Dark_Shroud 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ironically there is a big thread there about steroids right now.

I don't have much use for /r/fitness myself. I'm not crazy into supplements and I don't currently perform any kind of complex exercise routine.

[–]sp0radic 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hah. I try to tell people of the immense power reddit has by being such a great way to bring like-minded people together. I'm in a similar spot. And for the past 10 years have been finding the truth, vs "the truth" in one category of life after the other, keto and TRP being some of the recent and more substantial and life changing ones.

[–]etcomro 66 points67 points68 points 11 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Easy solution, don't mention the red pill but quote the studies we cite. You can give a redpill answer without talking about TRP

[–]8lp 18 points19 points20 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Then when they do stumble upon our sub they'll realize they already agree with us.

[–][deleted] 27 points28 points29 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I do that in most subreddits and my comments are highly voted. A lot of people agree with the basis of our ideas, but NOT with the name... like the opposite of feminism these days!

[–]th3f3tt 12 points12 points12 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It's really sad but true. The majority of reddit is such a circlejerk.

And if you mention TRP the comment typically gets downvoted.

I mentioned that a guy should check out TRP in r/divorce, and I think that was my second most downvoted comment. Lesson learned.

The hallmark of neoliberalism (vs classical liberalism aka libertarianism) is censorship. All out censorship or just censoring appropriateness of ideas via political correctness.

You will find a bunch of SJWs with no lives will take up moderating/adminning positions in influential reddits they had no hand in building up but sure crave to control. Then they bring in their friends to similiar positions.

Even happened at r/conservative. Self-described "Feminist Conservative" Mod there helped lead the charge to take TRP from the links on the side.

Just start advertising thebluepill or purplepilldebate in there. Those are so focused on us, any visitors will come here invariably.

You will find a bunch of SJWs with no lives will take up moderating/adminning positions in influential reddits they had no hand in building up but sure crave to control.

They do this in universities, governments, corporations, social clubs, endowments, and all sorts of other institutions. Just look around and you will see people of sub-mediocre talents conniving to achieve some position in a place they could never build themselves. Once there, they implement policies sure to bring about the rise of like-minded no-talent schemers.

When you see those people, do NOT self-identify as having either talent or recognition of who they are. Just get your feet moving as fast as you can to someplace away from them and the institution; it is now infected with parasites that will leech away any exceptional quality of that place.

I work in government and this describes 99% of my agency

[–]Xzal 42 points43 points44 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Sounds familiar to me too.

My job within my government was to monitor spend on Temp Workers (be as tight as possible).

I had specific guidelines in which to work to and if a worker ever reached certain criteria, their contract was to either become standard or employment terminated, due to the fact that temp workers get paid on average 5-10 times the amount the standard wage.

Temp workers are only meant for short term cover, Maternity/Paternity Leave, long sickness etc.

Well after a year of working there I found several people who were on the books for several years costing the council just shy of a 1/4 Million -each-.

The temp workers refused to move to standard contracts, so when I pressed them on the matter and escalated to the Finance Dept head, I was told to allow them to continue on the grounds that they were "influential" with Social Movements in the area.

One of them was on books for 7 Years. She intentionally got pregnant each year. Working time total would equate to about 2 years tops.

Its not just women though, a couple high ranking men were pulling this too. One of them responsible for abusing the temp hiring system rather prolifically as well as "over quoting" project costs to cover them.

As someone in IT, I thinks that's fucking awesome. I would do that shit to everybody if I was a judge.

[–]Xzal 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Yeah he first time per person would be funny, especially if the judge issued it jokingly, but repeatedly...

That would just be an abuse of position.

[–]stemgang 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The judge should send a patrolman with his gun drawn to escort the IT guy throughout the repairs/upgrades.

Maybe then we would notice the naked abuse of power.

[–]CaptainIncredible 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't think that's sufficient. I'd expect a few officers, one with gun drawn, the others with batons, mace, and tazers. That'll teach 'em!!!

I'm not sure if it was Susan G. Komen or another Breast Cancer charity, but a semi-popular Youtube pick-up/prank channel had girls ride a sybian-like vibrator (fully clothed so maybe just something that vibrates?) in public and they would donate according to how long they would last. The charity refused to take their money.

It's just so... WHAT? I'm sure these charities have taken money from guys who have very shady dealings, threw chemicals into rivers, poisoned water supplies, and fucked over their workers. But, give a few women orgasms? Fuck you.

The longer I've been here, the more I've realized that Reddit is a piece of shit. The voting system means only the lowest common denominator will prosper, and only tiny subreddits actually have good content. Then the mods are all power-hungry SJW assholes who will do anything to feel important. And, as the recent demise of 4chan shows, the SJWs will always find a way to seize control.... we should be on the watch for an SJW trying to become a mod here. If they haven't tried yet, they will in the future.

I won't be surprised at all when /r/TRP is banned for "hate speech" or "misogyny" or some other excuse. Honestly I expected it to happen after the Elliot Rogers thing (even though he was bluepill).

demise

Please explain.

[–]Xzal 11 points12 points13 points 11 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

I think its in reference to the mass change in Moderators at 4chan, coupled with Moot-drama (something or other about him wanting to wipe 4chan and start over).

Basically a lot of hoo-haa over the Gamergate and iCloud leaks has caused several influential mods there to start plotting to have 4chan taken down.

[–]Cheveyo 20 points21 points22 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Nah, the mods got replaced.

Moot's GF is a SJW. She converted him, got him to make her friends mods, and they've been trying to purge 4chan since.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Such a bummer that moot is a huge pussy. I really admired what 4chan was about, one of the last major bastions of free speech online.

[–]Xzal 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

There's an awful lot of it to be honest.

The kicking point was the ZQ Gamergate spark.

eh... 4chan itself might be dead (or dying)... But you can't kill the human spirit that is responsible for those types of posts... 4chan will resurrect someplace else as something else...

This has all happened before, and it will all happen again.

8ch/neupol is fantastic so far.

[–]goemon45 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I thought this sub was gonna be sjw modded before 4chan for sure. But I still see this sub suffering the same fate in the future or being banned

[–]Xzal 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This sub is too strong in its memberbase to allow this kind of thing, thats why instead of being SJW modded, its being shadowbanned from other subreddits, preventing X-Links to here, GroupDownvoting users based on KarmaPoints here.

They cannot influence the sub directly so theyre trying to indirectly.

[–]Endorsed Contributorgekkozorz 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

we should be on the watch for an SJW trying to become a mod here. If they haven't tried yet, they will in the future.

If this were any other sub, I'd be afraid of that. But I trust RPS & co to keep us pure of such toxic filth. This has to be the single best run sub on this entire sight.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Problem is they infiltrate. They might spend years acting like 'one of us' so that someday they might get accepted to a moderator position. Then they show their real colors and it's all over.

[–]Endorsed Contributorgekkozorz 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lol, the funny thing is that as I'm reading this, I'm watching The Americans.

You can script out how the debate will go before it even starts. The more intelligent might do subtle variants on the above, which can make it amusing.

[–]through_a_ways 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

Just start advertising thebluepill or purplepilldebate in there.

If you actually want to help win the media war, and you're motivated enough to spend a bunch of free time on the internet (not like you're not already), the best thing to do would be to write pro-feminist/blue pill/whatever comments that are just a little bit over the top in terms of unreasonability.

Example:

"I'm all for equal rights and feminism, but a woman having sex with an underage boy is different from a man having it with a girl"

"more than 30% of college-aged women will be raped on campus grounds"

"race doesn't exist. It's true that there are significant biological differences in appearance and some other physiological quirks, but this does not mean that race is biologically meaningful, and there are no genetic differences in cognitive ability."

There's three basic archetypes I used:

1) say something fucking stupid (like the one about rape)

2) ideologically contradict yourself, to lose credibility (like the one about statutory rape being different for men and women)

3) Mention some evidence/arguments contrary to the leftist dogma, and then attempt to disprove them very shoddily, or leave them conspicuously unaddressed. (the one about race)

Have fun, you fags

[–]Hexthorne 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

"race doesn't exist. It's true that there are significant biological differences in appearance and some other physiological quirks, but this does not mean that race is biologically meaningful, and there are no genetic differences in cognitive ability."

For anyone wondering, this is technically correct (best kind of correct?). By definition race is a social construct and there are no differences in cognitive ability based on race that don't disappear when controlled for socioeconomic background and "cultural" influences on the individual at a young, impressionable age.

If you want to put people into different biological groups the word you're looking for is ethnicity, which brings with it certain biological implications like statistically more likely to be lactose intolerant. Even then you don't really see cognitive differences that are consistent across entire groups (again, when controlled for socioeconomic status).

These are the academic definitions (sociology and biology) of the terms - how people use them outside of academia to make a point makes no difference to what they actually mean.

You know why socioeconomic status is such a big deal? The single biggest variable that affects overall cognitive ability (IQ, creativity, etc.) is access to nutrition of the mother during pregnancy and the child during first 5 years of life. All other variables are statistically insignificant compared to this.

So feed your sons well. They're going to need it in this great wide world that they're going to be thrown into.

[–]through_a_ways 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

By definition race is a social construct

Social construct doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Just means there is a socially accepted definition which may or may not correspond with the scientific one.

there are no differences in cognitive ability based on race that don't disappear when controlled for socioeconomic background and "cultural" influences on the individual at a young, impressionable age.

Haha, this is also technically correct. There are huge over/underrepresentations of certain races in certain brackets of economic achievement, so this is kind of beside the point. If red people are just as smart as blue people when you control for wealth, but there is only one red wealthy person for every 10 blue wealthy people, then it doesn't make sense to discount the possibility that red people might just be inherently less intelligent than blue people.

On the same vein, there's a lot of suggestive data that the environment plays a large role. I'm not saying that IQ is mainly genetic, I'm saying that it's foolish to write off the possibility due to the politically incorrect conclusions that may or may not stem from further research.

If you want to put people into different biological groups the word you're looking for is ethnicity, which brings with it certain biological implications like statistically more likely to be lactose intolerant.

No, the word I'm looking for is race. Lactase nonpersistence (not intolerance, as we don't call people cellulose intolerant, and most nonpersistent individuals can drink normal to large amounts of milk) is just a point mutation whose prevalence depends on whether your ancestors happened upon cows or not. It varies a lot by ethnicity only because it was so recently and strongly selected (A Punjabi or Tutsi is more likely to produce lactase than a Pole or a Greek, a Norwegian is more likely to produce it than an Iranian or a Nigerian)

This is what I basically mean when I say race is biological. Over a large number of SNPs, it's pretty clear. Also note the curious clustering of certain racial groups into "macroraces", in a fashion quite similar to the Caucasoid/Mongoloid theories of the late 1800s, which are claimed to be "discredited" now.

The single biggest variable that affects overall cognitive ability (IQ, creativity, etc.) is access to nutrition of the mother during pregnancy and the child during first 5 years of life. All other variables are statistically insignificant compared to this.

I wouldn't say the biggest, because I have no evidence for that, but it's undoubtedly huge, and definitely the biggest variable that people have some element of control over.

[–]Hexthorne 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If red people are just as smart as blue people when you control for wealth, but there is only one red wealthy person for every 10 blue wealthy people, then it doesn't make sense to discount the possibility that red people might just be inherently less intelligent than blue people.

I want to focus on this for a moment, because the implications can go any of several ways. In this scenario there's a disparity of wealth distribution between 2 races, red and blue. Assuming equal populations let's say 90% of the red are wealthy while only 10% of the blue are wealthy. This disparity likely arose either because there were economic opportunities available to everyone but predominantly red used them, or because the system is stacked in such a way that it's more difficult when you're blue.

In the first case it's because red is smart enough to see and/or use opportunities that blue misses, while the second is the system itself working against blue gaining wealth. With actual races in the world the correlation holds more often with the second (system is stacked against one race in favor of another, usually intentionally since resources are limited and we're biologically programmed to categorize the population in terms of in-groups and out-groups e.g. the generational conflict between Tutsis and Hutus, or Jews and Muslims). In reference to TRP vs TBP though, it's both.

The socioeconomic system is slowly being warped to the point that it's more difficult to be TRP, at least openly, while TRP also seems to give one insight to better courses of actions that lead to better outcomes.

On the same vein, there's a lot of suggestive data that the environment plays a large role. I'm not saying that IQ is mainly genetic, I'm saying that it's foolish to write off the possibility due to the politically incorrect conclusions that may or may not stem from further research.

Agreed, but doing so obviously reeks of secret Nazi eugenics programs to make a master race and disenfranchise women in the same stroke so you'd never get funding in the current political atmosphere.

That's an awesome plot graph - I wonder if there's a version that sizes the dots for each one based on population while maintaining some semblance of the actual distance like something out of a Hans Rosling talk.

I wouldn't say the biggest, because I have no evidence for that, but it's undoubtedly huge, and definitely the biggest variable that people have some element of control over.

Here's one study on cognitive development correlated against access to nutrition. - to be clear on this issue, being well fed doesn't make you smarter, it only prevents you from losing IQ points you would otherwise have. But the difference in IQ can be seen on page 4 of that pdf where the chart shows that the drop can be 8 points or more of IQ. As bad a metric as IQ is for measuring intelligence (really pattern recognition and conceptual math) it's still capable of showing trends like this.

Both the modern conservative and liberal are statists. They attempt to fool you by pointing out their differences. Look at the similarities.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, I'm a statist, just not a leftist.

[–]sir_wankalot_here 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The term liberal and conservative have been hijacked by both the left and right. They have ceased to have meanibg. Jefferson and Paine probably would have considered themselves "liberal". Washington would have considered himself conservative.

I consider myself "liberal" the the sense that Paine defined it.

Sounds like they got butt-hurt that some people actually liked what they found. If they are so sure of their ideology then why are they afraid to let others discover other things that are out there?

I asked someone this once. We were hatefully mentioned somewhere, and a BPer replied to the comment saying "don't directly linked anyone there." I asked, "why?" He said, "you should link them to somewhere like /r/purplepilldebate or [one of those lengthy bestof posts that explains why we're wrong] instead."

That's how you know we as a society are really going deep down the rabbit hole. The volunteer thought police are working round the clock to ensure no one starts thinking vile non-feminist things.

The hallmark of neoliberalism (vs classical liberalism aka libertarianism) is censorship.

The hallmark of pseudointellectualism is using words whose usual meanings you don't know.

Neoliberalism is a propaganda word used by leftists to describe the movement to liberalize the economy in the 80's, lead mainly Reagan and Thatcher.

Even happened at r/conservative. Self-described "Feminist Conservative" Mod there helped lead the charge to take TRP from the links on the side.

It's actually still on the sidebar, in the same category where /r/liberal is. BTW, that thread was heavily brigaded by SRD and other leftist nuts. It was funny when that "feminist conservative" mod asked "what's the conflict between radical feminism and conservatism"?

[–]2comment 25 points26 points27 points 11 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

Neoliberalism is a propaganda word used by leftists to describe the movement to liberalize the economy in the 80's, lead mainly Reagan and Thatcher.

Neoliberalism was first used in the 1938: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neoliberalism#Terminology

Specifically to oppose classical liberalism. Most but not all libertarians are classically liberal and oppose state intervention in the economy or private lives and are fans of von Mises.

But among many libertarian circles, it has social and not just economic connotations.

Edit:

It's actually still on the sidebar, in the same category where /r/liberal[1] is. BTW, that thread was heavily brigaded by SRD and other leftist nuts. It was funny when that "feminist conservative" mod asked "what's the conflict between radical feminism and conservatism"?

It's back up. Good. If you search theredpill in r/conservative, there the one discussion to remove it 10 months ago and if you search conservative in r/thebluepill, they have the discussion with posters mentioning it returned 2 months ago (near the top if sorted by relevance).

[–]fizolof 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

So back then the word refered only to economic policy that supported stronger state intervention, it didn't say anything about social issues like censorship. And it doesn't change the fact that right now, neoliberalism is mostly an anti-right wing propaganda term used by leftists - just search "neoliberal" on reddit look at reddit's usage of it.

If you want your terminology to reflect the current usage better, you should use "American progressive" or "progressive" instead - because the definition of liberal as social-democrat is pretty much exclusive to America. You could easily say that modern progressives want censorship, while I think "liberal" means "permissive" in most of Europe, so for example "liberal gun laws" are permissive gun laws.

[–]Spookybear_ -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

As far as I understood neoliberalism, or just liberalism is used to refer to what most people call socialists. This is funny because socialism is pretty different to liberalism

[–]ThePerdmeister 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

You've still completely misinterpreted what neoliberalism is. Moreover, the imaginary divide you've drawn between neoliberal values and libertarian values is completely farcical, as the two, broadly speaking, are compatible in some significant ways.

To say the "hallmark of neoliberalism is censorship" is beyond absurd. An economic model (and yes, I grant that neoliberal ideology has crept into political and social life as well) which fundamentally champions free trade, deregulation, privatization, classic economic liberalization, etc. is incredibly unlikely to prop itself up with anything we'd recognize as traditional censorship, even less likely to prop itself up with socially-conscious rhetoric (concern for disenfranchised people isn't exactly good for global free market values) or a sort of mass linguistic politeness in the form of political correctness; moreover, the vast majority of contemporary academic feminism (alongside the vast majority of left-of-centre academia) is harshly critical of neoliberal values.

If anything, what you see as feminist censorship is a direct response to the neoliberal do-as-you-please mentality, and the free market political de-fanging/centralization of the mass media (the latter, you could make a convincing argument is a form of neoliberal censorship).

The liberals today really do not tolerate dissent on reddit or real life, see conservative groups targeted by the IRS and the sudden disappearance of emails and blackberry emails/text from top liberals after investigation is announced. You guys try to intellectually justify being misogynistic because it promotes your own selfish agenda, which is to fuck girls that don't want to fuck you. It's creepy because you try to apply a calculated, premeditated formula for fucking instead of just being an honest, interesting, genuinely good person. You have a completely warped view of society and will eventually realize in a few years that you are nothing but a soulless, identity-lacking husk of a human being.

Of course, this post won't be removed because censorship is a neoliberal, truth-hampering policy. Unless you're a bunch of hypocrites.

EDIT: I didn't even realize that you guys don't let those unsubscribed vote or comment on posts (bit of a glitch for my account I see). [–]Jaereth 49 points49 points49 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It's really just the Karma system on these boards. That's all it really is. Once the loudmouth liberals/fatminists made the popular opinion of reddit be "TRP = LITERALLY HITLER" (Which they did simply by shouting it the loudest) the users don't dare respond with a contrarian opinion lest they get downvoted to oblivion. It doesn't matter if it's true or not, it's now the popular opinion.

Look at the subs that hate us the most, it's not /r/woodworking or /r/hunting or /r/business or /r/weightlifting. It's not a sub anyone would subscribe to because they have an interest in a topic or hobby, they are subs that are about reddit itself. Meta if you will. This is what is important to these people, to feel like they are part of this hip community more than actually getting a good read on some awesome content here and there. Nothing is more important to them than to feel like they are on the "right side" of all these issues that are really inconsequential in the long run.

So yeah, now that it's popular to hate, they are sure as hell going to hate, because they want that popularity with the reddit crowd more than anything. And it's so fashionable to hate TRP with the hip reddit set right now that it's a very quick and risk free way to reap that sweet sweet acceptance (Karma).

Yet, we are the neckbeard hate group, according to the narrative at least.

I recently had a pretty good conversation in /r/AskWomen actually. After the first comment or two where things like "misogyny, patriarchy, etc." were used, we then got to the real meat of some issues. We, of course, disagreed in the end, but we left it on an amicable note.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the We're just popular to hate right now thinking. I had one woman link me to an Imgur site that was supposedly full of screen shots of the bad things we say and do on here. Honestly, most comments were pretty tame and the few that seemed outlandish had little or negative upvotes.

We tend to police our own pretty well here.

It only takes someone compiling a few of the sort of angry, ill-informed, nasty, hateful comments that usually get downvoted to hell and/or deleted by the user later to tag this sub as a place full of woman-haters.

I occasionally see some angry chap making some utterly stupid "all women are fucking cunts" type comment and just know, out of the thousands of comments here, that will be the one quoted on some blog post denouncing us as misogynists. It's frankly depressing.

Skinner box

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operant_conditioning_chamber

An operant conditioning chamber (aka Skinner box) permits experimenters to study behavior conditioning (training) by teaching a subject animal to perform certain actions (like pressing a lever) in response to specific stimuli, such as a light or sound signal. When the subject correctly performs the behavior, the chamber mechanism delivers food or another reward. In some cases, the mechanism delivers a punishment for incorrect or missing responses.

I had a woman say this to me in real like the other day. We were talking about community volunteering and she venomously disagreed with my thoughts on it. She stopped the conversation mid-sentence saying that it was too much a trigger for her and that we should change the conversation.

I sort of chuckled at her and said, "Okay." -- I think that somehow pissed her off more.

Quick edit: I've been having a rough couple weeks at work and went to the bar for a couple happy hour drinks. I don't smoke unless I'm drinking, but decided after my shitty day that I would have a quick one while waiting for the subway. After about 15 minutes the train pulls up and I got on. The train was pretty full and a woman come over to stand beside me. All of a sudden she started gagging.

I immediately dumped everything out of the plastic bag I was holding and handed it over to her. She put her hand up as a "No" and, while still gagging, said that me reeking of cigarette smoke was terrible and making her sick.

I didn't know what to do. I picked my stuff up off the floor, put it back in my bag and went back to staring out the window. Am I wrong for thinking that was entirely unwarranted?

One thing that separates SJWs and feminazis is that they simply refuse to listen to this side of the argument and get into defensive mode at the first chance they get and accuse you of misogyny and what not whereas we try to find logic and try to look at people's behavior objectively.

[–]1Dis_mah_mobile_one 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Nothing went wrong. Men are still subject to the same base forces they always have been, and so have women. What has changed, is that now we are in an unprecedented historical time of very cheap energy and material abundance, and have been for a couple centuries, and this means that traditional masculine themes are not as much needed and even less wanted, whilst traditional feminine themes benefit.

This also means that the Feminine Imperative as laid out by Rollo has immense and deeply ingrained social forces that allow - even coerce - both men and women to behave in ways that benefit the Imperative and more recently Feminism. Feminism is not the prime cause of social ills. It is a symptom of larger social and economic forces which have taken a long time to get to this present point. That said, take away the undergirding supports and modern Feminism and everything else collapses right back to traditional Patriarchy as that is the best natural equilibrium.

That's actually what spawned the Red Pill in the first place, and what differentiates it from the Male Rights Movement; the realization that the game has changed but rather than seeking to abolish the changes, seeks rather to understand the new rules of the game and act accordingly so that Men can still benefit.

[–]SenorPuff 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The irony is that Red Pill is the natural condition of things, and given enough threat to the artificially created peaceful society, we default to it. In the 20s women were whoring it up something awful with all the excess, then boom, stock crash, Nazi's and Japanese, men were men again, women calmed the fuck down and loved their men. Then peace and whoops, divorcing their now no-longer war hero husbands (though not nearly as much as today) arguing for a place in the workforce, leaving kids to be raised by daycare.

I can only imagine that within the next 50 years something truly will threaten us westerners again, and we'll start the cycle all over again.

[–]Xzal 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What went wrong?

I'd warrant them being victims of their own theories. I mean think about it, if society in general rejects things due to group think, then even something like Platos allegory would be rejected by most.

Because its massively rejected its fobbed off as a parable, theory or a "vague thing of the past".

Put simple, Plato observed it and it still remains true.

[–]JazzerciseMaster 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Isn't it all a result of technology? Or a lot of it anyhow? And barring a complete breakdown, as we start to merge our bodies n' minds with computers n' such, we'll probably see a massive shift in defined roles. Just a thought.

[–]Xzal 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'd say that technology made it more apparent.

Before the invention of mass communication we only held small circles so it was harder to enforce group think. If someone thought differently to the group they could leave and find other like minded people, the social circle was smaller.

Now we have mass communication the amount of people within the group think is larger, so it is harder to hold non-standard views.

TLDR Mass Technology only compounded the effect by reinforcing the group think over a wider area.

Not only are people on the internet of generally no worth to you as an individual (no disrespect to anyone), if they're the kind of person who judges you on "Internet Points" then they're not worth having a second account over either.

I think it's telling that their content is so lacking they have nothing better to do than go downvote people who disagree with them all through their comment history. When i'm here, i'm just reading the articles...

[–]myschadenfreude 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm mostly on reddit now for the red pill anyway. It's like watching the fall of Rome. We at least knew the score.

[–]Homosubi 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The SJWs go into subs that they hate like The Red Pill, tag all of the names they see in the comments and then when they see them in the "wild" they attack you.

I assumed that this was the case when it happened to me, but it could be there are enough sick people who roll through comment histories before they reply to anything just to see if they can dig up dirt on you.

[–]Teeklin 24 points25 points26 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

This is a subreddit filled with a lot of angry dudes ranting about a lot of shit in very hateful ways sometimes.

It doesn't make this subreddit a hate subreddit, but someone who casually looked over a few pages in this subreddit would stumble upon a LOT of venting anger.

For every post espousing self-improvement and confidence building there is another post talking about bitches and spinning plates and calling people whores and sluts, etc.

It takes what might be an otherwise completely rational conversation and throws gas all over it and lights a match.

[–]MrRexels 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

1) There is nothing wrong the concept of Plate Spinning and it is an important part of TRP. 2) The line dividing ''Ranting on hateful shit'' and ''Expressing nonpolitically correct opinions that would be silenced everywhere else'' is very thin.

3) We don't call a woman a whore or a slut unless there's proof she is. Even then, we don't oppose sluts unless they are trying to pretend they aren't to screw over a guy in marriage. The concept of ''Slut shaming'' as bad its bullshit.

I consider this blocking mention of us as direct censorship, which is them fighting us now. This isn't just about a popular subreddit trying to squelch us. This is about culture and the old guard leftists trying to control it.

[–]sabresandiego 35 points36 points37 points 11 years ago* (14 children) | Copy Link

Underlying red pill theory is not hate based just like conservative politics is not hate based. However both of these things attract hateful people because of the nature of their beliefs.

For example, hateful people are often drawn to red pill because of their frustrations with women. While they read red pill, and attempt to understand women better, their frustrations compound as they begin to see reality from a different viewpoint and then get reinforced by other hateful and frustrated males.

What happens is that a form of extremism occurs. Red pill opens the AFC's (average frustrated chump) eyes to reality, but the intial response to this awakening is one of frustration and anger. This gets reinforced repeatedly and then red pill ideas are taken to an extreme and you end up with hatred/extremism. Red Pill and Conservative Politics are both hate groups, not because they actually stand for hatred, but because the kinds of people they attract tend to take things to an extremist level and the unifying emotion that brings them together is "hatred" "frustration" or "contempt".

[–]Xzal 12 points13 points14 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

The same happens in feminism and pretty much any other group.

Its where the saying Haters Gonna Hate comes from.

[–]sabresandiego 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

I agree with you in regards to feminism which can spawn hatred towards men, but not all groups are hate based. Also want to point out an interesting dichotomy that I see repeated in different realms.

Politics: Liberal = Good but weak Conservative = Evil but strong

Eating: Vegetarian = Good but weak Meat Eater = Evil but strong

Sexual Marketplace: Blue Pill = Good but weak Red Pill = Evil but strong

I am using extreme oversimplification of (good and evil) to illustrate these underlying analogies, but they do tend to exist. Wise men have said that its best to take the middle road and do "all things in moderation". There is a lot of wisdom in this approach. Ideally you want to be "good and strong" and I think this is achievable with the correct approach and attitude.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's all just ridiculous. Morality is subjective. Who are you to label one side good and one side evil?

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I live with that dichotomy on a daily basis. I am the most black triad social justice warrior you'll ever meet. Except I actually have logical conversations vs strawmaning like most sjw's. It gets me laid. So. Much.

[–]JazzerciseMaster 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

New here. I'll look it up, but black triad sounds like a 90's movie where Martin Lawrence plays a Cincinnati cop infiltrating a Japanese organized crime syndicate. begins writing.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Edit: Here's the context I commented on:

Seriously, is this entire sub for insecure dudes who can't handle the thought of an equal and healthy relationship?

The short answer? Yes.

To present an argument to that point, I would say "equal" relationships are rarely possible because most average people don't want it. People enter relationships with control in mind due to their own insecurity. TRP would make you the stronger person and give you control of the situation.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"That's not debatable" is hamster-ese for "I don't know how to debate that with facts."

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This comment rubs me the wrong way, because between the lines it proposes the idea that hatred is always bad and unreasonable. You have to look at what a person hates and why he hates it before you can judge it as bad. Hatred of injustice is sound. Hatred of hypocrisy is sound. Hatred of evil is sound. A human can feel hatred at times without being unbalanced or unnatural.

[–]1oldredder 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Somehow we're both angry misogynistic neckbeards that can't talk to women, and manipulative psychopaths using pick up tricks like some kind of sexual David Blaine.

And then you get the guy who actually tries anything here and says "well fuck. I guess they were right."

[–]cruxae 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sexual david blaine. That could be a great pickup line...

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Reminds me of when Obama was first elected - all the right wing rags raged about how he was simultaneously an empty suit who couldn't get anything done right and none of his initiatives worked, and he was single-handedly destroying the fabric of this great country with his over-reach of power and his iron-fisted culling of the producers of society.

Now they're focusing on other fights, but the point stands: When ideologies fight on mass media, the tactic is to throw all the shit at the wall and see what sticks.

In the reddit-wild, I mostly hear about TRP being neckbeards, manipulative, and abusive people who over-emphasize alpha-beta dichotomies. Recently there has been a tacit acceptance that it's bigger than that, but it's very clouded by the perception that we're just the beta-boys trying to be assholes to get women.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess we are subverting the dominant (feminist) paradigm. They tried to openly revile us as rapists and misogynists. But every mention of this sub drove people to us, swelling our numbers, and bringing our truths to men that need it.

So now it seems that agenda setting is in play. Our detractors want to make TRP an unperson in the Orwellian sense (an unsub?). No links to click on means no one will click here out of idle curiosity and take the pill themselves. They want to remove us from the agenda entirely.

It's not going to work.

How is this a place of hate? If anything I went from hating women to understanding them. My relationship with females has improved immensely since I've started browsing Trp.

[–]sciencegod 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

See this for what it really is my friends. Feminists hate when men self organize and they are left out of the loop.

Why would they hate that?

It is about control. There is no other reason to constantly oppose every effort of every independent men's group from which feminists are excluded. They have a pathological need to insert themselves into every male space, regardless of the cost or destruction of the space when they are finished. It is and always has been about control. The control of your thoughts. The control of your behaviors. Ultimately, the control of your sexuality.

You don't have to accept it. If is perfectly fine to defy them. You have the right to determine your own path in life. You have the right to purse happiness however you choose. But never forget you have the right to peaceably assemble with anyone else or group you choose. Feminazis cannot take away your rights unless you surrender them. Always stick with your brothers. Never surrender!
