I spent the last six months working on myself, being introspective, and overcoming an addiction. Being gluten intolerant, I have limited choices when it comes to alcohol (wine, top-shelf gin, ciders, and gluten-free beer), and many of those choices have a high ABV.

Here are my reasons for stopping:

  1. Alcohol is a quick fix. Alcohol enhances my game for a brief amount of time, but then it completely crushes my game. I lose the ability to reason, to interact and remember information about the girl (her name), and I make poor choices (escalate when waiting would have created more attraction).

  2. I can't remember details or reason properly. I approach women and women approach me. But when I drink, I can't remember anything about them: name, face, or what they talked to me about. It is often just a hazy blur. My two most enjoyable nights were when I went to a concert and didn't drink, and I went to the bar and I didn't drink. I remember everything about both nights. The songs, the women, and my interactions with all of them.

  3. The hangover ruins the future. If I have one drink or five, I still have a wicked hangover the next day. I rarely drink, but when I drink socially once a week, the alcohol destroys my system. I have tried everything from different drinks, to eating properly, to hydrating, and I just don't react well to drinking. Not only that, it takes me days to overcome the hangover. In that time, I experience anxiety, paranoia, depression, and brain fog. I never experience those symptoms when I am sober. However, while I am recovering, women are usually trying to talk to me. Since I can't reason properly from being hungover, I am not on top of my game. I'm more AFC when hungover, and I would rather quickly end a conversation then keep up a game with a girl. Not only that, many of those ladies want to go out the next night or meet me for an event, but I can't because of being hungover.

  4. I look for women with qualities that I find in myself. I have my ducks in a row: career, place, car, hobbies, and friends. I have dealt with my demons. I don't look for women stuck in life. I avoid women with emotional baggage and who are hung up on their past. I avoid drug abusers and alcoholics. Why would I expect a woman to tolerate otherwise? I have blown up more potential relationships from drinking too much than I can remember. I used to blame the women for the relationships failing, but as I reflected, much of that had to do with my actions as well. I set a high standard for others, but I need to live to that ideal as well.

  5. My best experiences didn't involve alcohol. I love my job, and I enjoy going there everyday. I am never hungover when I work. I enjoy seeing my family. I enjoy working out five days a week. I am never hungover when I see my family or lift. I want to be on top of my game for those experiences, but I am off my game when I drink. As I said before, my two best experiences this summer involved me not drinking. If part of /r/seduction is becoming the best version of yourself possible, then correcting destructive decision making elements in my life is part of that becoming.
