[–]Mundane_Natural5131 38 points39 points40 points 4 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link
I honestly wouldn’t but im just saying like if the girl finds you attractive then she would like it if you approached her but if she isn’t attracted to you i doubt that they would like the approach
[–]Evil_god7 25 points26 points27 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
that's the point to approaching, ain't it?You gauge her interest level or her attraction towards you.If she doesn't ,onto the next one!

[–]webDreamer420 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]Mundane_Natural5131 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You’re right guess ama have to start taking risks i actually haven’t made no approaches at all this year for the same reasons that women are tired of getting approached well like 75% of them lol
[–]Particular-Pop-2484 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
Hmmm. Depends on how the guys go about it, recently had a guy hit on me and he wasn’t attractive but that wasn’t the problem, the problem was he wasn’t getting the hint that I wasn’t interested and it really just started to bug me and I had to become stern with him to get him to leave.
I’ve had another guy I didn’t find attractive hit on me as well, and although I wasn’t interested I still was flattered and he was very polite about it. I guess I was more flattered because I wasn’t looking my best ( sweaty after a hike , no makeup)
[–]Mundane_Natural5131 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
How would you like to be approached then? I remember when i was cold approaching back 2019 in college i would just say hi first then introduce my self, after that i would tell them that i find them attractive and was wondering if i could get their number. If they said they had a boyfriend i would just say okay have a good day. You think that is a good approach? Or do you think i should do it differently
[–]Particular-Pop-2484 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Sounds pretty solid to me, also if they look like they’re busy or talking to a friend I would add a “ sorry I don’t mean to interrupt ——“ or if you want to leave the ball in her court, you can hand her your number and it’ll be up to her whether she messages you or not. Had a guy leave his number on my car at the gym once and I thought it was cute, nothing came out of that but he’s a cool friend today due to other reasons
[–]Mundane_Natural5131 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Okay thanks for the tip(: its good to get feedback from a woman il definitely use that if if they look busy or something. Also another method i used to use was i would ask them for directions to a class or something then switch it up like honestly i knew where it was at i just found you attractive one time this girl started cracking up when i used that one but i still didn’t get the number lol

[–]Real-Edge-9288 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I mean hints are cute...and sometimes I personally get it but I prefer to be told that you are not interested. Look we are men we can take the truth, we don't need things sugar coated. Maybe guys who seem they are really nervous, okay...I get it, you can sugar coat it for them.
It was so much more a relief when she said a clear no, or just clearly said it out not interested. I don't care about being rejected anymore...I do mind suprises at least for a while.
[–]EARLY20RAG3R 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Lots of guys get offended when taking no for an answer, youd be surprised how many times I’ve seen girls saying “you dont reject them because you gotta stay safe” claiming that women get murdered for rejecting guys.
So they resort to acting interested and then ghosting

Thanks for the upvotes but I seriously wasn't joking. A LOT of my opposite sex friends I don't find physically attractive (caveat: I've a ButHisFace. 46 and my body isn't that of a movie star but isn't a "dad bod") but I still hang with them and if they want to be sexual, no strings attached, bring it ON! Sometimes it helps to have a Chode. Let's put it this way, I can fit through a toilet roll lengthwise but not girthwise) /BraggingDone. I also, at 46 JUST got my Associate degree. A two year degree that took me FIFTEEN years to earn. It remind me of "Tommy Boy" "A LOT of people go to college for 7 years." "Yeah, they're called doctors." WELL, due to life, moving back home to help out family and, well, "Going Kerouac on everyone's asses" and looking for MY spot in this vast country they started calling me Professor. Seriously, LifeHack, when you get to 40+ showing up in a college you automatically can use the faculty lounge. Maybe someday I'll find my spot. Yeah, save you the bandwidth searching Google but Associate degree is the only one NOT pluralized. Hey, I don't make the rules I just arbitrarily pick and choose which ones to break.
A tooth infection DID knock out my two lowers so now I work at a DMV call center and bank them govt employee bennies to fix it because I DO want to date again. I DO have this huge scar on my head which makes me look like Frankenstein's monster. At the end of the day, I've got a college degree, a thick penis which is still multiorgasmic - more of a curse than a blessing when one is single-, obviously a GREAT sense of humor judging by the upvotes (you fuckers are alright in MY book), a job with kick ass bennies, and a terrific cat whose been by my side for near 4 years.
So, as Andre3k said before he went nuts, "I don't got it all my damn self". Thus, I'm not going to look a gift ho in the mouth. Attractive is so subjective. If she's homely and DTF, ok. If she's beautiful and is going to abuse my cat or me, hit the road bitch.

No. If the guy is socially calibrated and confident, most women will enjoy the interaction (at least a little bit), even if they are not into the guy or find him ugly. In contrast to that they will totally blow out a guy, they would have found attractive under normal circumstances, if he is not confident and has no social skills.
[–]Real-Edge-9288 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
can you tell us sarah your age range?
[–]focus_flow69 85 points86 points87 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Here's the quick answer, it doesn't matter.
Some women are gonna like it and some aren't. It was always going to be like this. You have to just do what YOU want and decide on the type of girl you want to attract. And the only way to do that is to talk to more girls. And to talk to more girls, you have to approach. 🤔🤔🤔
[–][deleted] 13 points14 points15 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yep, it's a newbie thing. 'I have to do as much as I can to make women attracted to me in order to increase my chances of banging X amount of women'.
Medium experienced guys such as myself, or even the veterans, stop caring.
You can't really control what another human will think of you. All you can really do is work on yourself and your own attractiveness, and see what happens. Throw the bait in the water and just see. Do the bare minimum for your own health. All these stupid Tom and Jerry games and implemented strategies get old once life starts throwing bigger fish at you to fry.
Women and a burning house are essentially the same thing. Fireman Sam pretty much has women covered, get in .... and get out!

[–]itizwhatitizlmao 137 points138 points139 points 4 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link
I do like it. It happens often.
I want you to be quick, direct and to the point. Just ask. Because I don’t know you so I’m going off purely physical attraction just like you are.
It’s when the man takes forever with the small talk that I get annoyed. Don’t try to talk to me for a very long time when we are both outside obviously busy. There’s no need. I already made a decision the second I saw you walking up to me.
Also men who make it awkward, or ask me why not. Or try to keep pushing.
It’s so simple. And it’s ok to be rejected, don’t take it personal.
[–]carlos1973633826 64 points65 points66 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Careful taking advice from a women. They can only talk for themselves and have never cold approached a women as a men.
A lot of guys are seduced with the idea of throwing 1 or 2 lines and getting a girl. When cold approaching you want her to get a feel for your personality build some sort of genuine cone connection. If she likes you she will talk to you and not rush to her nails appointment. Also don’t be direct to the point. Most women are not going to be in a social mood and might blow you off immediately unless she finds you physically attractive.
Remember your trying to get a date not a phone number.
we are not asking how they want to be cold approached...OP was asking if they mind it or not. different story entirely.
[–]TuckerTheCuckFucker 35 points36 points37 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
it’s ok to be rejected
While I agree with you, that’s easy for you to say… you’re not the one being rejected lol
I think many men get hung up when a woman gives a bogus answer for the rejection. The simplest rejection is “Thanks but I have a boyfriend” even if it’s not true.
If a guy pushes past this, then yeah.. creep
[–]siamachine 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Honest question, I’m not trying to be argumentative, but why isn’t a simple “I’m not interested” good enough? Why do some men feel they are entitled to an explanation from a complete stranger?
I’m not saying women should be callous about it, but I also don’t feel like I should have to explain myself to someone I don’t even know just because I’m not interested in their advances.
[–]TuckerTheCuckFucker 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I appreciate your candor.
You’re not obligated to do anything at all actually.
I’m just stating that “I have a boyfriend” is the most polite and effective rejection you can make. Not just for the man’s sake but for you as a woman too.
Let me explain
It lets them down easy, because they can at least have the reassurance that it’s not because of how they look or who they are as a person.
It also effectively lets them know they have no reason to keep pursuing you.
If you say “I’m not interested” ….many men will press and try to find out why. You will likely get harassed more than if you simply just lie and say you have a boyfriend.
If they press past this, it takes a special kind of shitty person to not take the rejection.
At that point, I would start roasting them and calling them out for hitting on a woman in a relationship.
I promise you lying about a boyfriend will save you the biggest headaches.
But by all means… you’re entitled to handle it however you’d like
[–]siamachine 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
I agree. I have often used that excuse even when it wasn’t true. I just wish there was more respect in these interactions and women weren’t required to do so much emotional labor (especially for strangers) just to protect mens egos.
Women are misled and rejected all the time, usually in much more hurtful ways than a simple direct statement right from the jump that reserves the time and energy of both parties. I don’t understand why it’s so socially acceptable and even encouraged to coddle men just to avoid a potentially uncomfortable or even dangerous situation.
[–]FaithInStrangers94 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
So what then? The whole “life’s short you’re cute let’s have coffee sometime” thing? I thought that level of directness makes most women uncomfortable
[–]Xombie0991 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
What about in a relaxed setting like a bar? I always prefer to talk to a woman and get an idea based on her reaction to basic conversation rather than going all RSD and just asking for her number.

How quick is quick. I heard it takes 5 minutes for a woman to decide if she wants to fuck. Some say 5 seconds.
Is it more like… I know I’m attracted to you, now i want to see if you can hold a quick convo?
[–]itizwhatitizlmao 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Your second thought is correct. I already know (subconsciously) that I am attracted to you or not from the moment our eyes meet.
Now let’s see what comes out of your mouth.
[–]coachmelloweyes 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Side note, when you do make eye contact with someone you’re attracted to.. is it always that extended glare or sometimes you continue as if nothing.
I have this debate with a friend. I personally believe that if a woman is attracted to you she will lock eyes with you for 2-3 seconds at least, instinctively. Otherwise she’s just indifferent.
What are your thoughts?
[–]itizwhatitizlmao 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I tend to hide my attraction until the man makes it clear he is also interested in me.
During the initial interaction I will hold eye contact the whole time. Usually I start looking away because I’m either not interested anymore or I’m actually feeling nervous because I am.
This is why I need personal space and for the man to back off but hover nearby doing his own thing. I am thinking and observing him.
If I liked him, I will keep glancing at him for a few seconds (can’t help it) and if our eyes meet I might smile and look away. I do get shy sometimes. I might find an excuse to hover around him as well while talking to a girlfriend or something. The goal is to allow for natural attraction and both of us get closer and closer until we start a conversation again.
If I don’t like him, my body language and face will reflect indifference and I might turn my back to him entirely and ignore him. I will maintain distance or leave entirely.
[–]basedbhau 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I think the key is distinguishing between "hitting on" and "approaching".
Also, I am the 69th comment lol.
[–]ZachMoore88 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
What's the difference aside from connotation?
[–]basedbhau 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well in my opinion, hitting on is just too direct. It's like, you already know the destination. But women like journey more than the destination. They want it too but not just straight away. If they want it straight away, they'll let the right guy know. It's just me tho, any woman can argue on this point.
[–]carlos1973633826 56 points57 points58 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Here is the truth if they are attracted to you Yes. If not No. I was flirting with a girl from my home country in the Caribbean and she was super into me. Another who did not have same cultural background try flirting with her and she became very uncomfortable. I’ll break this to you right now. Most women are going to be annoyed by you. They will say who is this weirdo talking to me. But there will be women who are super happy and into. Now you make the choice, not approach and don’t bother any women. Or approach and give women who are into you a chance. Which woman’s happiness matters to you the most? The ones that like you or the ones that don’t?

Aslong as u dont approach at night or somewhere dodgy and take rejection like a champ youre good
[–]rovestbaci 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I was actually talking about this earlier with someone! Our idea was that if someone looks focused, moving in a bee-line, clearly busy with something - it would be best to not approach. But if someone is taking their time, smelling the roses, then that might have a better outcome. Depending on the surroundings too though - make intentions clear up front and don't corner her or approach her somewhere she can't leave right away (like an elevator).
Essentially - gauge the surroundings and make a best judgement on it from her perspective.
[–]Only_Commercial_774 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Rusalka96 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I’ve had good and bad experiences. It’s nice to be told I’m attractive and I feel flattered if someone asks for my number even though I’m happily married and will decline. Most of the times the person asking will just say “okay, thanks anyways” and leave. But I’ve also been called a cunt, stupid bitch, fat bitch, and ugly piece of shit for declining to give out my number. You just never know how someone will react. I don’t get hit on as much now that I’m older, and if I do it’s usually men in my age group or older and they tend to take the “rejection” with class
[–]quadfintryfin 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women like it even if they’re not attracted.. they love the validation.
When a woman says they don’t like it… what they’re saying is that they don’t like men who are creepy or won’t leave them alone after a rejection

This is why its referred as a game. It all depends on the moment and your move. If shes in the middle of a conversation she might get a bit annoyed but if you approach a lonely girl at the bar with confidence you might get your chance. no they do. I've been approached by many in my lifetime. However its pretty much only by cougars, BBW's, single moms, or some combo of all the above. Very rarely is it a girl who I would normally be into on my own.
You will need to do the approaching for girls you are into, even if you look like Chris Hemsworth with a permanent IG filter aura radiating around you.

[–]ZoeticLark 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
There's a huge difference between cat calling a woman and actually walking up to her and talking to her about something that's relevant or somehow related To either what you're doing or the environment/place, hell even the weather if you have nothing else- anything but her physical appearance. We're all still animals and pacing is a delicate dance. I think more people ought to try it using their gut instinct instead of heady pua crap that is all about numbers. If you want to connect you have to build the path to connection one step at a time! If you do it right she will open up.. If she closes up.. think about pacing. Women generally have very valid reasons for being hyper vigilant, dont make threatening gestures, corner them, or zoom in too much and she might find herself weirdly curious. Dont force anything, and if you do get a chance to chat, trying to be positioned side by side.. if its a first chat. its less confrontational than face to face interactions can be and doesnt put pressure for constant eye contact.. This is one way of pacing...you are near her, but by her side, viewing the world together... hope that can start to unravel some other ideas about being physically non confrontational while also making your presence felt. Sometimes a thoughtful gesture like holding the door for someone (even if its not her) can establish you as a person to trust who is aware of others and their surroundings. I guaruntee, most women are hyper aware of whats happening in the room and the temperature, even if they dont act on the knowing or respond. Non response is another protection mechanism so if you ever get that, dont take it personal, its a survival instinct and hard wired. If you use your gut instincts and your heart, i think you will find ways to make many new friends!

The issue isn’t being approached, it’s being treated like prey.
A lot of men “test” women to see how willing she is to indulge their interest in sleeping with them, before they decide how much they will respect her. It’s predatory.
Being approached by someone who is respectful, whether the woman is interested or not, isn’t the issue. The issue is being approached by someone who wants to see how quickly they can get your pants off, before they’ll consider treating you like a person.
[–]ffioca -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
Some women do the same thing. Is it still predatory when Janice does it?
[–]siamachine 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
Absolutely.
[–]ffioca 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
And why is it a negative attitude? Some people are interested in some things, some in other things.
[–]siamachine 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
There is a time and place for everything. Jumping straight to “how quickly can I get my d*ck wet” after introducing yourself is disrespectful. Hire a sex worker if this is how you’d like your interactions with women to play out right from the start.
[–]ffioca 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
"Hire a sex worker if you want to have sex with somebody" Seems so very legit.
[–]siamachine 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
That’s not what I said, and you oversimplifying to support your own argument doesn’t discredit the sentiment.
If it’s acceptable of you to immediately jump straight to trying to sleep with the girl you’ve only just introduced yourself to, is it also acceptable of her to expect you to immediately provide her your credit card to pay her bills, or say - cover the tab at whatever bar or restaurant you’ve approached her in, whether you find chemistry in said interaction or not?
Because that’s what the kind of transactional interactions you seem so in support of look like.
[–]ffioca 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Most interactions are transactional. Almost nobody does anything not expecting something in return. I don't support this, it's just the way it is. Also working to have somebody want to have sex with you and expecting to be paid for doing nothing are two veeeeery separate thing. In the first one both win sex, in the latter one wins money and the other loses money. Typical double standard.

I’m not really seeing where you interpret it as a double standard.
If you make no effort to get to know the person you’re talking to, before trying to sleep with them, you also “did nothing”. If you just happened to stumble upon a woman who is willing and ready right away, they probably would have slept with anyone. It has nothing to do with you “winning” anything.
And treating ALL women as though they’re going to be that one, when the VAST majority of women have been very vocal about how much they hate that, is a super douche move. That ONE is one in a million, and the other 999,999 are going to think you’re a creepy asshole.
Again, hire a sex worker if putting in any effort to get to know someone before trying to sleep with them is too much for you. That’s why the profession exists. It’s ok.
Edit: And no, most interactions are not transactional in the sense you are referring to. At least not in healthy relational dynamics.

Being physically attracted by somebody is not being creepy. Stop making biased associations. You can be willing to have fun with somebody and treat them with respect at the same time. Why judge. It's a very natural thing. Of course you can also be creepy and insistent, and I despise that too because it's disrespectful towards the other person, making her/him uncomfortable, and to him/herself, because it shows that he/she is being very very needy. And yes, interactions are transactional: would you keep saying hello to someone who never says hello back and ignores you? No. Why? Because it would damage your dignity and boost their sense of power. Would you be friends with someone who never helps you and tries to bring you down? No. Why? Same reasons. She/he doesn't reciprocate. How to describe this? Oh yeah, Transactional.

Well we live in a digital age, so approaching random women during your/her day-to-day activities happens far less. It's almost socially unacceptable, compared to say the 60's or 70's.
If the guy is physically attractive (8 and up), I don't think the women will mind. Anything less than this and you're going into the sex offender registry. Whether they reject the hot guy or not, it's nonetheless an ego boost for the day that such a hot guy approached her.

I’m definitely not an 8, 6-7 more likely and I’ve never had a bad interaction where I was called a creep, if that happens you’re definitely doing something very wrong. It’s not that complicated, I usually start with a compliment, then an observation, try to sneak a joke in, if she seems to reciprocate well and if you’re socially intelligent it’s pretty clear if she is, then make the ask, sure I get rejected sometimes but sometimes I don’t but I certainly don’t get put on a sex offender registry for having a nice conversation and then asking for a date/number. You gotta make some like sexually harassing remarks or whip your dick out for that.

Meh its not as bad as you're portraying here. Austin Dunham has a video on his vlog channel cold approaching at some stores with his boys and they range from good looking to average at best. They all got rejected including Austin, but the women were polite about it and no one had a bad experience per say.
With that said, I think that video echos most peoples experiences where it's largely a losing endeavor and more for just getting your social skills up / overcoming social anxiety. It's actually a pretty shit method in terms of time invested versus results.

Usually no. But now I’m so lonely I’d like a little bit of attention and if a guy actually liked me at first glance, I’d love to know it.
[–]Healthyred555 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
What would you like them to say on the approach?
[–]Prestigious-Sense942 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah. Like it. If it’s respectful.
[–]CenturionLegio 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
approach over 200 girls only if she finds you attractive :) otherwise she will find it insulting or meh with a bit of flattering feelings
[–]illraceyou96 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No. For me it never ends well. It goes from ‘friendly’ to weird and creepy so quickly and I have never felt safe.
