Women vote. they comprised the majority of voters for presidential elections for the last several American cycles. That majority has consistently voted in support of women's issues, and against men, and against men's issues.

I presume when you say women have a wider variety of health concerns you are referencing the fact that women complain about their health more. This is likely because hospitals regularly note female health issues and advertise women's issues lots. It's not necessarily a sign that men are served better by people that they are less aware of their health issues. Women face less health issues and are generally healthier.

Also, nice subtle dodging of people's points. You make a post about this "but I have never seen it shown that men face gender inequality at the hands of women." someone points out an obvious stat where men are worse off than women, dying more, and you dismiss it as unimportant and try to divert the conversation to race.

Black men do live shorter lives, and live much shorter lives than black women. They face a lot of the worst gender discrimination and it's been quite bad for them, along with racial discrimination.

From the paper:

The paper repeatedly refers to biases.

There is no systematic discrimination of children by teachers of both sexes.

The abstract literally uses the phrase "actual discrimination".

No, it doesn't. It's your interpretation that this explains the disparity, this is not a claim made by the study's authors. In fact, what the study says contradicts the idea that the difference in grades is merely a reflection of the students' perceptions:

Interestingly, an analysis of teachers’ grading practices shows that these belief only partially match teachers’ actual behavior. Indeed, teachers are more lenient with students of their own gender. Male students’ choices are in line with the fact that male teachers give them lower grades, but female students’ choices are not consistent with male teachers’ grading practice.

Primary aggressor policies? I don't know what that means. Do you mean in consideration of domestic violence? If a woman says a man hit her, he should be arrested. If a man says a woman hit him, she should be arrested. That's because of the fact that abused people can have the shit beat out of them and call the police, but not file charges. Sorry, but every single person I've actually known in that situation were women abused by men. Every single case of a woman abusing a man, that I know about, was reciprocal abuse in that the husband and wife were beating each other. Are there men who are beaten by women, yes. Should those women be arrested, yes. Does that mean that men shouldn't be arrested just because a woman says he hit her, no. If a person says another person hit them, that person should be arrested. Issues of false charges should also be dealt with. That would be the real issue for me.

Shared parenting? Well, the best interests of the child should be taken into consideration at all times. I know a lot of people with shared custody now, whereas that wasn't happening when I was a kid. I know men who have full custody of their kids. What more do you really want? The law allows for all these options. Society may not, but the law does. Perhaps champion for more lawyers to take cases where fathers want more visitation or something. But you know what is most wrong with child custody... lack of paternal involvement and dead beat dads. That's a real issue... a real legal issue with it comes to child support payments. And the men on the sub have whined more about trying to get the mother to prove how she spends the money than these men have worried about if their child is actually being properly cared for. Non-custodial mothers should pay child support too, but what I've seen is custodial fathers not insisting on it if the woman defaults. My position is that no non-custodial parent (except the very rich) pays for half of their children's care.

Men get harsher sentences for a variety of reasons. If it is simply a sexist thing, that is never going to be fair. But men do indeed commit the most crimes, they have longer records than women. A person with a longer record should get a harsher sentence. If you compare sentence lengths with criminal records, is there still sexism? Maybe not. If we looked at first time offenders would women still get lighter sentences? Maybe, maybe not. I don't know.

My point about the draft was that not one man stood up to that Fire guy and pointed out the fact that signing up for the Selective Service does not mean women owe him compensation. That was his deal, nobody disagreed. In fact, somebody slammed the US Navy in order to prove that my military service meant nothing. Not a bunch of men convincing anybody there are real men's rights issues in America.

Primary aggressor... that somebody is sometimes the woman. That does indeed happen. The law doesn't say in domestic abuse situations, when nobody presses charges, the male must go to jail. It says that if an accusation is made, the person accused goes to jail. That's a good thing. Look up the history of why they started doing that. And it stretches beyond male/female relationships. It could be a father/daughter, mother/daughter. Heck, I saw an episode of Cops where the daughter called 911 and in the end, despite her not wanting to press charges on her mother, they took the mother to jail. The reasoning behind the law is good. The application may have issues and false reports should always be charged.

Shared parenting. If both are declared fit or unfit???? If both are declared fit, and both parents want custody, then custody is split. That is the exact thing that actually happens. I know because it has happened to the people around me. I know a mother who tried to prove the father unfit and it backfired on her, she lost full custody. Some judges don't put up with false accusations.

Are you saying that women are paroled before their minimum sentence is served in greater numbers than men? Is that due to overcrowding in women's jails? Women with no prior crimes getting out faster or people just want to keep men in jail for no good reason??

The "Fire" guy with piss poor spelling and grammar said women owe him compensation. Nobody called him out on his BS. That is part of what makes this sub look bad. Not the random fool saying something, but the fact that no man called him out. I would say the same on any board about any issue.

Some women aren't taken seriously either, which is part of why the original law was created. I've been there when police didn't arrest my uncle after he beat my aunt because it was a domestic issue. Back then, a woman might have wanted to press charges but wasn't taken seriously. Or the police were tired of showing up to the same house as the same person was beaten by the same person, but the person beaten wouldn't press charges. The issue is a serious one because of past problems. I agree that men should be taken seriously if they say that they have been abused. I have seen cases where the women are arrested though (well in California at least). So, either the tide is changing or abuse isn't being tolerated as much as it once was. Legally speaking, the law is on the side of the abused man.

If both parents are unfit, I'm not sure why the children should go to either parent at all. Both parents should be put into parenting classes or something. I hate suggesting kids go to foster parents, but I guess putting them in the hands of the least unfit parent can be understandable. I simply don't know of any case where the children are ever places with either parent if both are unfit. Shared custody should be the default, if both parties are willing to have custody, I agree. I don't believe there are any laws specific to this.

Well, I don't know where in the hell these women are from that actually believe no woman should ever be sent to jail. That's just crazy talk.

I know trolls don't need to be fed, but allowing him to go on and on makes every man on here look like they agree. Though I did tell him people probably just didn't read his crap.

You were the one who brought up Nazis. Legolas simply noted that, contrary to your claim that women hated seeing men going to war, numerous women pushed their men to go to war. They supported their men going to die horribly.

The likely reason is that these women enjoyed testing their men. If their man was unwilling to go they knew he was a coward. If he did go he was sexy and was worthy of sex.

Many women (especially drama loving women) love testing men with dangerous tasks. You would do well to teach men this lesson rather than ignore it. You sound like a mother, from the order in which you described men.

How would you feel if your son, ignorant of the whims of women, joined a gang to impress a woman? Or beat someone up to impress a woman? Or did some dangerous task to show he was sexy? I have seen women advise men to do many stupid things. As you have said " The draft is a male created system, a system created and kept alive by other men, not women. " so your sons would have no knowledge that a woman could ever lead them astray.

If you are willing to risk your child (I assume you have one or more) dying you can ignore this, but it seems like a fairly important lesson, that people of both genders can lead you astray, and have repeatedly done so through history.

I would consider that peer pressure. I have taught all my children not to give into peer pressure and only do what they really want to do. One of my children would never do anything he didn't want to do. My daughter would do some of the things others asked if she felt they might like her and my youngest son most definitely does things to make others happy. No, sorry women do not act that way anymore than men act that way. In fact, I don't know a single woman who has ever asked or wanted a man to do something dangerous to prove his worth. Tell me one stupid thing a woman has actually advised a man to do? A real life example of someone you actually know. Of course both sexes have dared each other to do all kinds of things, I just haven't seen women declare to a man go do this stupid thing so you can prove you are worthy. In fact, what I see is women telling men not to do stupid things all the damn time. lol Hell, I have to tell my dad not to do stupid stuff nearly every time I see him.

My children all have the knowledge that anybody could lead them astray for any reasons at any time. My older son complained that the girls won't ever like him because girls like big guys with muscles. I explained to him that isn't true and he'll find that out in the long run. Not too much later some girl had a crush on him and he found out girls like nice guys too. I'm not going to teach my boys that women are manipulative psychos as you seem to say, and I won't be teaching my daughter that men are manipulative psychos either. Some people will pressure others into doing crap they don't want to. Those people aren't good people and my kids understand that.

No , they don't but they don't mind sending somebody else's sons to war ... which is what the White Feather campaign was all about .
It's like riding the bus : %90 of people favor others riding the bus more . Not them though ... they don't have time .

Let's not pretend that a large number of women have always been more than happy to send men off to war . They do it for the same reason some women will shoot their mouths off to men while standing behind a big one they think will defend them . Women get away with a lot of behavior that a man would not be able to . You may not realize it because , as a woman , you simply take these things for granted but using shame to get men to do things for women is a very common tactic and has been used since time immemorial .

I'm not suggesting that men are faultless or that no woman is good . I'm just pointing out that people are people and we have good characteristics and bad ones . Women are not immune from doing things that we would classify as selfish or hypocritical any more than men are .

Okay, you do have a point... people will choose to send their neighbor off to war before they send their own. But that's because people are selfish, not just women.

Ya know what, I think it is fair to say that some people will take advantage of whatever they think they can. So, yeah some women may shoot their mouths off when they have someone there to defend them. I've seen the same behavior from men. Women may use shame to get men to do things for them, but men may use shame to get women to do things for them too... it's just those things differ. Can't we just call those people jerks and not turn it into a sex war? I mean really, I've had men try to shame me into doing sexual favors for them. I've had men try to shame me into shutting up. Isn't that just something the jerks of this world do? It's not limited to sex.

This thread began because you were claiming women were universally good in one particular respect:

women probably would all vote against a draft.

Nobody is saying women are the only ones who sometimes act selfishly, you're arguing against a straw man.

Pointing out that men sometimes act selfishly too does not in any way rebut the observation that women sometimes push men into war. This may be an example of some women acting selfishly, but it is not an argument that only women are selfish.

In other words, if you can seriously tell yourself that women are not marginalized in our society, if you can tell yourself that spousal abuse is swept under the rug, and if you can tell yourself that it is men who face more gender related issues than women, without providing any evidence of it, then it is you who are illogical.

Not sure if you realize the irony on calling a dissenting opinion "illogical".

Oh, and just so you know, the MRM isn't an egalitarian movement. Egalitarianism is, like feminism, an ideology. The MRM is an advocacy group. There are a lot of egalitarian MRAs, but there are quite a few people who share different beliefs. What brings all of them together are concrete areas where the rights of men are at risk or do not exist. You are clearly a feminist, but I recognize it doesn't prevent you from being an MRA. It just makes it very, very hard.
