So when I lived in the USA, i always noticed there was a giant fitness culture. 24h fitness and all the chain gyms would be packed with men and women benching / squatting / deadlifting. The guys in clubs and bars were almost all from the gym, with on average huge arms and chest. Similarly, the women took working out very seriously. I knew many women who did heavy squatting and glute pressing / dead lights. This is mainly in SF and NYC.

Now in Singapore, there's somewhat of people doing fitness but rarely heavy lifting. It's more just cycling and running / jogging or rock climbing.

How does fitness culture and the emphasis of it effect dating and relationships ? Does fitness culture raise the standards for men or women ?
