It has been years since moving looks discussion to the off-topic thread (that is a joke) and the climate of looks has gotten worse. I think this is the elephant in the room.

Every dating discussion is contingent on looks, it is silently assumed that it is a non-issue. Overlooking this has been fatal for well meaning discussion. Too many people are being given a false impression that it is not as serious as the malleable traits in dating. It is frequently leading to the "Im doing everything right and nothing is working." Except of course, that you cannot change your genetics.

This is causing harm to good discussion. Instead of admitting dating is not a meritocracy, people double down. "You say you are doing everything right, yet you are not suceeding, so that cant be true." Being attractive is a flat increase to your stats, its fact, and PPD does not acknowledge it enough. The relationship is causative. PPD operates under the guise that all people with dating woes are good looking enough to date. At worst, you are locked out of one of if not life's most human experience by looks. PPD does not accept this premise.
