im 5'7 never has been a huge problem for me. sure some girls here and there turned me down for it, but over all hasnt been a huge issue
[–]Hanmura 30 points31 points32 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
same. I’m 5’7 and I get more girls than guys who are 6ft lol
[–]CrypticResponseMan 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
5"9 here. Girls complain to me about taller guys, saying we do it better because we're not full of ourselves. Turns out it's not all about size... Only when you don't have it 😅

Yes height is important but it isn’t everything. Money, confidence, and a nice physique will easily beat out height. There’s a lot of 6’ + people who don’t get any girls because other thing aren’t in order.
[–]thelambofdeth 35 points36 points37 points 4 years ago (50 children) | Copy Link
And a good-looking face. That also very handily trumps height. Height isn't important at all tbh. I would easily trade like 4 inches of my height for a better looking face.
[–]Glucksburg 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (38 children) | Copy Link
What don't you like about your face? You can get a better jawline and cheekbones by losing weight.
[–]thelambofdeth 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (37 children) | Copy Link
I'm 6'3 175lbs, I can't really lose any more weight lol. My face just doesn't fit the rest of me. From the neck down I have a lean, model-esque silhouette, but my face ruins its. It's too rough and broad. I have slight scarring from old acne, my nose is too big, my face isn't symmetrical enough, my hairline is meh...It's just bad. I'm not grotesquely ugly, but just ugly enough to ruin and advantage I'd have from my height and body.
[–]Glucksburg 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Have you tried growing a beard? That might cover some of your scarring and improve your symmetry.
[–]thelambofdeth 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
I have...it just makes me look ten years older lol. Idk, it honestly didn't seem to make a difference one way or the other.
[–]Glucksburg 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Well grow it out for 6 months and see if anything changes? A tall man with a beard is powerfully attractive. You may have a lot of other things to work on but hopefully it will be less than most. You're in a good position.
[–]thelambofdeth 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Lol I literally shaved my beard on new years. I'd been growing it since the end of summer and was tired of looking at it...it made no real difference...neither has my clothes, my fitness, my grooming regimes, etc...all the things I have to work on, I have, painstakingly. If this is less than most, christ alive I'd hate to see most lol. If I could trade my height for just a decent face, I would.
[–]Vulturo 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
A smallish cosmetic surgery can give you a completely new vibe. Nose-job, acne scars, botox, not sure what will help the most but a qualified person can figure out something minimally invasive and effective. If you really hate your face so much you should consider it.
[–]thelambofdeth 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Oh I've been considering it for some time, but the procedures aren't exactly cheap.
[–]Glucksburg 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Sorry to hear that man. Best of luck to you.
[–]Woujo 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link
I am almost certain this is all in your head. Has a woman ever told you that your face sucks?
[–]thelambofdeth 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link
lol what woman is actually going to tell you you're ugly? She'd have to be the biggest bitches ever. No, no woman has literally told me that, but I know it. If you're tall, in shape, dress well, and you groom, hygienic, etc and you've done everything you can to maximize your physical potential and you go out and you habitually get very little to no attention from women, clearly my face is the blatant issue. It doesn't need to be said literally, I can tell.
[–]Woujo 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link
Ok let me rephrase this another way:
Do you have any reason to think your face sucks other than your own insecurities?
And no, you can't go out and just expect women to approach you and "give you attention." That's not how it works. Women are generally much more shy and insecure than men, so they rarely approach you or give you attention. As the man, you need to approach.
I am almost certain this is all or mostly in your head.
[–]thelambofdeth 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link
...just bc its an insecurity doesn't mean it's not true, though...I'm not saying I'm grotesquely, hide the children ugly...but I objectively know what a good-looking or average person looks like, and it's better that me.
I'm not expecting them to get in a single file line or any thing, but with my height, build and fashion sense I should get more than blue moon attention. That's how I know I'm ugly. If I was even just average looking I would get least get IOIs, hints and signs.
[–]Woujo 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link
HAS ANY OTHER PERSON OTHER THAN YOURSELF SAID THIS TO YOU? A FRIEND, A GIRL, YOUR MOTHER, ANYBODY??
This is just wrong. That's not how the real world works.
Are you approaching women at all?
[–]thelambofdeth 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (14 children) | Copy Link
Dude, if you're ugly you just know. No one has to literally tell you. Who actually, seriously just tells someone they're ugly...like legitimately and not as a joke?
This is just wrong. That's not how the real world works. Are you approaching women at all?
No, I have severe approach anxiety. But I looks for IOIs, and hints or whatever and they pretty much are never there. If you don't see any interest it's pretty pointless to approach.
[–]FairandStyle -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
You can treat the scarring. Check natural remedies for dark marks. Tomatoes and lemon work. Some brands also have products for that. You can get a great hairstyle or get a great wig installed that will give a different hairline. All noses matter, big noses aren't bad. It's simply media brainwashing. There are many good looking people who lack symmetry. Nowadays I think symmetry is kinda overrated.
[–]thelambofdeth 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I've tried most everything for my acne scaring...not natural remedies, but dozens of products. And I'm a man, I'm not wearing a wig lol. And media brainwashing or not, most women are going to find a more sculpted, narrow nose more attractive. And I honestly would just consider facial symmetry a generic, net positive. Like...it's only a good thing. I don't have it and I'm ugly so that kind of demonstrates that lol.
[–]FairandStyle 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
Try natural remedies and avoid the sun for a while. If that doesn't work, I guess you'll have tried. About the other stuff, initially I thought you were open to some suggestions. But you have a rather fatalistic stand. So maybe you've decided to be alone forever. I can't tell. But whatever you're reason is, you are the one who has made it. I don't call any of God's creations ugly. However, there are many 'ugly men' out here with the women of their dreams. Some wealthy, some not (just with a great personality or immense confidence). But no one will do the work for you of course. You choose. Many men wear wigs and you can't tell, especially actors. Don't know how not wearing one for you is related to bring a man.
[–]thelambofdeth 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I'm open to suggestions, but I've tried a lot and very little has mattered or changed. Like there's a reason so many people can be successful in so many areas of life except women. It's not just on you in that regard. You can't just make people like you. If you're ugly...you're ugly. And it's not like I haven't tried, painstakingly so to maximize all other aspects of myself. I've done a lot of work...like at some point I'm not the who has made it that way. Those are the cards dealt. Those ugly guys with women they truly desire either found some exceptional way to compensate for their appearance, or they have a very large social circle that has helped to bridge that gap. And it seems like without those, you're pretty fecked.
[–]FairandStyle 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
You refuse suggestions but say you are open to suggestions. Find a way to bridge the gap like those guys or simply let this go. I feel you are looking for sympathy more than a solution. You can continue giving your power away to those who made you feel this way or you can create a solution. However if you continue like this the most you'll get if you're lucky is someone who wants to be with you cos of sympathy and codependency and not much else. That will even suck some more.
[–]thelambofdeth 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Lol I can't simply "let it go". If I could stop desiring and being attracted to women, I would, but I cannot. Bridging that gap is much harder for some of us than others, and you can't extend an olive branch if no one wants to accept it. The goal is a solution, but creating one is so much more difficult than people let on...at least for some of us.
However if you continue like this the most you'll get if you're lucky is someone who wants to be with you cos of sympathy and codependency and not much else. That will even suck some more.
Lol nothing is worse than nothing, and beggars can't really be particular.

I have a handsome face, and a short height, the only reason I know men think height is important is because of the internet, never even occurred to me before.
[–]Woujo -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
A good looking face is like a tiny, tiny part of womens' attraction. Unless you have some kind of deformity, you can fix your face by working out and eating better.
[–]thelambofdeth 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
A tiny, tiny part? To women your face is literally the most important physical aspect. You can be short, fat, a slob or whatever, as long as you have a good-looking face, you're pretty golden. Height, fashion sense, grooming, fitness...they're tiny parts of a woman's attraction that individually don't mean chit.
Some of us work out all the time and have healthy diets and still have chit faces. If it was that easy to fix, no one would be ugly.
[–]Woujo 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
To women your face is literally the most important physical aspect.
You are completely wrong. It is clear you are suffering from some kind of body dysmorphia and now you've decided that faces are the most important thing to women. You are pinning all your insecurities on your face and it's just stupid.
In terms of physical appearance...what matters more than a face to women. You can't even say its a body, because some women like buff guys and some women like lean guys...but every woman likes a good-looking guy lol. Face is easily the most important physical aspect to a woman.
[–]Woujo 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
In terms of physical appearance...what matters more than a face to women
Height, musculutare, posture body language, confidence, looking healthy, looking like you can kick ass. Literally everything else.
We've established that you have body dysmorphia and are using your face as an excuse to not take action. You need to get a real opinion from somebody you trust on your face, and you need to get off of this subreddit if you are not approaching women.
All of that is subjective. Some women like short guys, some like tall guys, some like buff guys, some like lean guys, some some aggressive looking men, some like passive looking...but literally ALL women like good-looking men period lol. It's universally desired.
[–]thelambofdeth 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes. These things, in this order. We are all a unique compilation of attributes. And we will not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you consciously work on yourself, mentally and physically, it will hold a lot of weight in your favor.
I’ve been on dates with a few good looking 6’ dudes which were not the brightest bulbs…needless to say, I did not let it go past the first date. So height was the the deciding factor.
[–]zystyl 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Women aren't some sort of homogenous population. Different women like different things. If you aren't focussed on money and the gym you can lead a happy and fulfilled life by finding a partner with similar goals. If you get rejected just find someone else who is interested.

It is not. Im 5'6 and never had a problem. Ive said this before and will till i die. Women want confidence and potential. So what if youre not 6'. Anyone who dates via looks is not someone you want to be with. The number one is be yourself and not give a fuck. Lose interest if they pull that card.

They want a man they see as moving up in the world. Studies have shown that women prefer a competent man who is moving up over a man that has already made it. They want the adventure, not necessarily the prize.
[–]TTV-DontEvnTrip 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
That is a complete fking lie you just typed. What world are you from where someone already accomplished is less attractive than a nobody trying to make it? Come back to reality
[–]Woujo -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Nope, this statement is supported by numerous scientific studies as well as by tons of anecdotal evidence. A woman would rather fuck an aspiring rapper who lives in his mother's basement but is hustling and grinding than a rich real estate mogul that spends all day watching TV.
Of course, there are tons of women that are prostitutes, gold diggers, or just strategically end up with the rich guy to take his money and screw him over, but in terms of pure sexual attraction women are more attracted to the guy on the adventure.
[–]stanthemilkman88 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

[–]Woujo -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

IE there are no studies.
[–]throwawaynibs -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]Woujo -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It matters, but the amount it matters goes down proportionally to your confidence - potentially drastically. It's been a while since I wasn't getting laid by someone attractive
[–]Sxru 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
172cm is almost 5'8" so you would be just below or above average height in most places
[–]1hundredeight 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yeah, I was wondering about this we use a metric system so I was not 100% sure but 172cm > 5'6'' that's like 168cm I think.
[–]Sxru 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
yeah it's a little misleading when you do the cm to feet conversion because it'll give you (in this case) 5.64 feet but you'd actually want to convert to inches.
[–]1Nan09[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I use the metric system and i converted it on google to check it says 5'6 one way and 5'7 the other way bit confusing ngl.

Confidence is everything, and it doesn’t matter where you find it like for example do you think Kevin hart could pull anything he wants, now you don’t need to be as funny as Kevin hart, but maybe workout more because if you get jacked you’ll look taller, that’s a fact, at the end of the day you just got to prove you can take care of her.
[–]thelambofdeth 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link

[–]damiancontrol 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
Kevin hart got rich because he's confident. It's literally the job of every celebrity
[–]zystyl 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Being funny might have had something to do with it too.
[–]thelambofdeth 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
He got rich bc he was exceptionally talented, not just because he was "confident". I swear this sub wants to pretend confidence is some magic cure-all lol.
Uhhh exceptionally might be a stretch there buddy haha. I think confidence is more important. In most non-science related fields, confidence will always matter more. Being good is important too (you need both) but confidence is what takes someone from being a 2 to being a 10
[–]damiancontrol 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Confidence isn't a magic cure-all. All I'm saying is that celebrities are paid to be confident that's all.
He can't showcase those talents if he wan't confident in the first place and if he couldn't showcase those talents then he won't be rich.
[–]thelambofdeth 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link
They're paid to be talented, and they're confident...bc they're talented. And it's much easier to be confident when you're successful.
[–]damiancontrol 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
Dude are you telling me right now that you have to be successful first before you can be confident?
I can name a bunch of celebrities that aren't talented per se and I'm sure you can too.
And Van Gogh died poor but no one can dispute his talents.
[–]thelambofdeth 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Well I can't speak for other people but regarding myself as it pertains to women...yes...how could I be successful if I've had no recent success? It's not logical.
[–]damiancontrol 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You don't have to be confident mate... but you do have to be comfortable.
[–]Accomplished_Bar_853 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link
You can’t get rich 🤔
[–]thelambofdeth 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link
WTF is the point of mentioning height and confidence then if the answer is "just be rich"? lol that pretty much overrides anything.
[–]Accomplished_Bar_853 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link
You can get can get confidence from being rich, being a gang member, being jacked, being a waitress, you can even fake confidence, that was my point, I just used Kevin hart cause You don’t know my 5 foot neighbour
[–]thelambofdeth 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
Fake confidence isn't a thing. If it was everyone on the planet would be confident. Confident comes from being good-looking, rich, successful, having high status, etc. Like, you need a tangible reason to be confident. You have to be exceptional in some regard to just "pull anything you want".
[–]JohnnyLazer17 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Fake confidence is most definitely a thing. What you mean to say is “Fake confidence isn’t a thing that I know how to do.”
[–]thelambofdeth -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Whatever you say, mate.
[–]FairandStyle 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
You don't need a tangible reason to be confident. Someone lied to you.
[–]thelambofdeth 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
It's not a lie, it's common sense. If you don't have an actual reason for confidence it's artificial, and people can easily sus it out.
[–]FairandStyle 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
It's not common sense to need a reason. It is simply you were taught you need a reason from the time you were a kid. You can simply appreciate yourself and that will give you confidence. That is not artificial. It is different from faking it. Faking it will make you look fake. The reason you are saying you need a reason is because you are relying on an outside authority to give you a reason. And then you believe you have to work to meet that requirement. This is why many people end up insecure because they haven't met certain expectations/reasons that they assume their society expects. That's also the main reason OP is asking this question. Appreciating yourself naturally makes you want the best for yourself.
In most case confidence is accrued via positive reinforcement. For example, you're not just going to be confident with women if you've recieved no good will from them. I can appreciate a ton of things about myself but that doesn't somehow mean women will or that it will lead to success with them. If you could just be confident, then everyone would be. I totally want the best for myself, but again you can't just magically align that with women. It's not a binary thing you just get better at. There's too many variables and factors at play you have no control over.
[–]LordCarnifex 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You can view height through the lens of any other heuristic or benchmark; it may help you or hurt you, but you benefit much more by focusing on the things you can control. It might sound boomer and as I'm in the 5'11-6'0 range it doesnt apply to me, but I don't advise fucking with apps for that reason. Apps encourage women to try and build a dude like a subway sandwich and attraction doesn't work that way. Give me the malleable dude willing to present himself with style and charisma at 5'6" over the 6'0" lame running normie Disney game any day of the week.
[–]Gagz_ 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
As long as you question it in your head, it will affect your chances. As soon as you let go it won't. I know people who are 6'5" and are insecure about their height (but the other way round) ! What you believe will project out of you, and will make/brake your chances.

They may literally see me, but its not it's like I'm not even there. Standing out bc of height when you're ugly isn't exactly a good thing. It just means there's more of you to avoid lol.
[–]creative_i_am_not 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Most of people aren't ugly though and can get to average+ with good skin care and grooming, bring in decent shape. You have an advantage to be tall, that's attractive/impressive on it's own. If your looks are in order then it's a confidence and mindset thing, the rest will work out by itself.
I am 6'4 but nothing ever happened to me while I wasn't making it happen. Turns out I am even attractive to really easily get girls when I initiate (which I ignored for a long time), just not attractive enough for them to throw themselves at me. All I changed is my mindset.
I already have hair, skin, and grooming regimes to the point of metrosexuality. It's not like I neglect it, I obsess over it lol. And literally the only way I could dress better is if I was a millionaire. I run 5x a week and I'm in about the best shape I could be in. I've done everything I can to maximize my physical potential sans plastic surgery.
Is at least some of it my fault for not approaching or initiating? Sure, but it's hard to do when even after the work you've done on yourself there's no real return sans minor once in a blue moon attention.

Todays dating generation is cringe, what the fuck does it have to do with heights?
[–]Uoger 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Many women (especially in the west) are extremely superficial about height, they usually want a man who is taller and physically larger than them because it’s masculine. Although, what OP needs to know is that confidence and how fit you are is more important. There are plenty of tall lanky guys with no confidence. They droop their arms, hunch.

No, he's right. Guys who are short should not focus on how their height limits them, but rather work on things they can make up for it with. It's unhealthy to focus on ones height when there's nothing they can do about it.
[–]Woujo 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
A few things to know:
1) Women generally prefer taller guys to shorter guys.
2) Women look at a lot of criteria, so if you are short you can make it up for it with other characteristics.
3) You should not be thinking about this shit AT ALL. You cannot really change your heights, and you should not be thinking about your weaknesses when you approach a woman. You should only be thinking about whether you are having fun.
[–]joelvaldezg 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
Wow. Y’all commenting here don’t know shit. They don’t even understand how women are attracted to men. The most recurring mistake men make is thinking that women are attracted to men the same way as we are attracted to them (physical appearance). I stopped caring about if I’m tall enough (5’6 and I’m 16), if I’m good looking enough (women have told me I’m cute but it’s not like I’m being chased by all of them), if I’m in good shape (honestly I’m average, since I have been putting some work on the gym), and started focusing on being mentally attractive. Having interesting things to say about myself, to connect with the emotions a woman is feeling and trying to be playful about them, be confident no matter what is happening and having a determined purpose in life and doing all things according to it. Most girls that are considered a 10 prefer going for me than going for that 6’3 good looking guy. I have stopped caring about the things that I can’t change and I started focusing on the things that I can change. Tons of results have come after this. Also I don’t think you should be even considering someone who rejects you because of your height, is like rejecting a girl because her weight isn’t perfect, completely dumb. Women and men are different. Always remember that.
[–]furikakke 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
Shh dont reveal the secret. Let them keep thinking a shorter man with a ‘hot’ woman is just some cosmic phenomena and not actually based on the partner’s mind lol.
The convo about 10s being unlikely to be with a shorter man makes me laugh — sure people society deem as “hottest” might go for each other out pf this weird social pressure, but spoiler—if their primary dealbreakers are physical (edit: and theyre too embarrassed to be seen by society as with someone less physically attractive)—they could never be a full 10 bc that in itself is an unattractive quality/pretty big character flaw. And if you don’t think thats a flaw in someone’s character, I got some bad news for you… 🪞
[–]joelvaldezg 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Completely true. Being a ’10’ also includes a lot of personality and things that our eyes can’t see. A girl that is a 10 will be a 10 in every area.
[–]Glucksburg 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
It really depends on the rest of you and on the woman. Many women do care about height, but this is superficial and shallow.
However, I would love to marry a tall woman so my sons can be over 6' and not have to worry about height like I did.
[–]Bennifred 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It's not superficial to want your kids to not be dwarfs. As a 5'0" woman I would want the father of my kids to counter balance my stature. The wrong direction would be for short men to target short women. In my experience, the taller a woman is, the less she will value having a 6' tall partner

Does size matter? Not principally. If you can bone, you can bone man. In other words why care in the first place? it's not like anyone can change height. Plus height doesn't seem like it would matter when you're laying down or chilling if that's what youre talking about doing

It’s definitely a thing and not new at all. BUT a good friend of mine growing up is shorter. Not classically good looking at all. But women could not keep their hands off him. It was impressive. So yes. Height will shut some doors for you. But it certainly doesn’t mean you can’t be successful dating or hooking up.
[–]koolex 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This isn't a new trend, most women are attracted to taller guys. There was a hashtag a while ago about girls asking if a guy is hot or just tall, so girls very directly tie this to physical attraction, but women are attracted to many different facets like lifestyle or masculinity, etc.
Every woman has her own height preference, you just need to be taller than her and you probably have a chance. Being shorter makes dating harder but not impossible.

Depends where you live.
Here where I live in Australia, I see plenty of decently attractive women with short guys and/or shorter than them.
And it's not like the guy is attractive or anything, usually he'll be mediocre and below her league
[–]Glittering-Star4159 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The short answer is yes. Your best bet is to talk to women everywhere. Including woman you're not interested in. Work on your confidence and practice being flirtatious and be an intriguing person. You're best bet is to meet woman out and about, create and win them over. Like any other life skill you have to learn it and practice it. Most woman care about height, but you can overcome it.
It matters a decent amount. If you have ever been to any college\uni, you will see that tall guys have girls throwing themselves over them without being special personality wise..
I think people will give a lot of beautiful theories as to why it doesn't matter but the reality is that it does. Psychologically speaking, women are just more attracted to someone who is bigger than them and bigger than other men...
that being said you can focus on things you can control. Like having a purpose in life and confidence. If you have confidence and work at something you enjoy I don't see any reason why women will not be interested in you...also, doing something you love will bring you confidence

[–]norwegiandoggo 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Is it really important? Depends on the girl. Not all girls are the same..some care about height and some don't. I'd guess it's about a 50/50 split regarding who care and who don't if you're around average. But the shorter you get the more people will care. If you're 4 feet or 120 cm, a LOT of them will begin to care. See how that works? The shorter you get the more women will find it a dealbreaker. If you're around average, like you are, then it's not much to worry about.

People will say you are a negative incel for that but it's seriously discouraging watching guys who are shorter, worse looking, skinny fat, terrible conversationalists and worse dancers having girls bat their eyes at them with zero effort. [–]thelambofdeth 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link
This. People watch too much porn and too many liberal Netflix series and think black guys are like in high demand or something. That's totally NOT the case unless you're literally Michael B. or something, while a white guy just had to exist girls give this hige pass for no reason. It's pretty frustrating....It wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't tall, and in shape, and well groomed and hygienic, and into dressing well or if those guys were just 10/10 Chads or something...but seeing guys who put forth zero effort and look like crap and get women for no other reason but bc of their race is...ugh. People don't get the luxury it is and cant fanom not having it. Yet I'm also supposed to ignore and pretend everything is fair? Lol

lol I literally the other day saw a comment on a quora thread referencing the delusional misrepresentation that happens in modern TV where every couple is interracial. And white guys in my life will say that it is just my lack of confidence which is not a lie. But my confidence has dropped significantly when i started noticing this phenomenon. You have to be exceptional and find that rare girl who is open to black guys just to have a conversation where she is barely engaging. Meanwhile, literally the most mediocre white guys can say the corniest lamest shit and these girls will lap it up. playing with their hair, giant smile, lots of eye contact. I know when a girl is interested in a guy and i see it happen to myself every now and then but for white guys it just seems too easy.
I was watching cable the other day for the first time in ages and I counted the commercials that had interracial(bm/ww) couples and it was literally ALL of them except two. There's this weird liberal agenda to push that, but...that's not real life. And when it's not that way for you like on TV people gaslight you and blame you.
And white guys in my life will say that it is just my lack of confidence which is not a lie. But my confidence has dropped significantly when i started noticing this phenomenon. You literally said it better than I could. It's like this huge extra barrier that people never consider and somehow tell you it's not the case bc they think they know better. Like you said I can see when a woman is interested. They do all the work and make it easy, and all you have to be is white to get that.
Being an alternative black guy is literally the worst. Alternative black women just go for white guys and alternative white girls are going to just go the white route, bc what's the point of an alternative black guy? White guys are the default. They expect you to be some suave, cocky, arrogant loud charming guy and if you're not and just exceptional in nearly every way, you're totally overlooked. It's totally rigged...
[–]DEAAgent420 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I mean until that kind of behavior is too much for them. I dont know if this is a thing or just my perception but I think sometimes they that kind of aggressiveness is too forward when it could literally just be a cultural thing as in my case with the way i dance and flirt.
But I dont think i can make any kind of generalizations on that.
I will say however being alt black must be worse because you are both not white but "not black enough"
It's a weird, confining tightrope I have no idea how you're supposed to operate. If you're too aggressive you're a "thug" if you're not, now you don't live up to her "expectations" and it's "jarring". Literally anything you do can be transcribed as "too much" but if you don't do any of that, now you're arrogant and distant or just weird...how are you supposed to navigate any of that and be natural?

No, we’re not a hive mind. Women have different preferences and yes some are 5’5 and want a 6’ man. Good for them and more power to them to find their leggy man. I’m 5’9 and prefer a man roughly the same height. A little shorter or a little taller. I don’t like to crane my f’n neck just to kiss. It does matter, but it's not a simple relationship.
I'm 6'2". I'm also built like a door. It took me a long time to figure this out and more than a few fucked-up relationship, but when you're big -- not just tall, but big -- you act differently out there in the world, and women respond to it. Basically, it's confidence.
Unless someone is really enormous -- I mean, NFL-sized -- I'm not intimidated by them, at all, in any way. I don't care if you're a biker and wearing leather and boots in a bar, some kind of athlete, anything, I'm not going to defer to you at all, or treat you as anything but just another guy. I'm not rude or anything -- I'm actually really friendly -- but I'm absolutely not to be fucked with, and other men instinctively sense that. I'm actually sort of goofy and silly, because I can be, because of my size.
And women notice this, and like it, and so on. In other words, it's not just because of my size, but also because of the effect that being this big has had on my interpersonal behavior as a result of years of being the biggest guy in the room, usually. Does that make sense?
[–]Yum_Nom -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Not important. I can only really speak for myself as a woman, but I'm attracted to someone's personality more than anything. There's a lot of shallow people out there sure, however I'm guessing this "6ft trend" is mostly due to those types being on tinder/social media these days, but my guess is they're the loud minority. Now I'm not saying looks had nothing to do with it at all, but I think a lot of women (atleast ones over 25) have figured out that "wrapping" ain't the best feature.

Thing is, idk why or if this is actually true, but I've noticed that most girls don't even know height lol. I'm 5 ft 11, and girls always think I'm 6'1. I never correct them btw lol. I mostly date girls 5'6 or under. Not opposed to tall girls, but it just happens that way, and these girls always boost my height. I personally think that for most avg height women, 5'9 and up is prefect. I think that the reality is, alot of these girls might just think what actually 5'10 is 6ft. So if you say you're 5'9, they imagine a guy who is actually 5'7 lol.
[–]SuperSoakerGuyx -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The way I see it, it really depends a tall girl would go for a tall guy, where as a shorter girl would refuse taller guys to go for a guy that matches her height. I just look around and draw observations but I would say physique would be a more comprehensive aspect of attractivness than height alone. So to that I say be the best you can be by being overall healthy body and mind.

You know how tall Prince was? 5'3". He was one of THE biggest sex symbols that the world has ever seen. Women CRAVED him. Go check the height of all these hollywood heart throbs like tom cruise or dave franco. How about Usher? Bruno Mars? I know you're probably thinking "oh but these guys are rich and famous that doesnt help me" and yes these guys do have extraordinary circumstances otherwise BUT it shows you that height doesn't preclude you from being a woman's sexual fantasy. Its not about height- its about something else
The shorter guys in my community always say that "height is what women think they want until you show them what they actually want". Its kind of like a mantra almost. Women think they want something because they've never experienced the other things that YOU can provide. Height is something that is noticeable at a glance, its not like a personality trait for instance which can take a lot of time and many interactions to demonstrate. I think of it as if I'd never tasted a starburst before. My favorite color is orange so I'd choose orange. But having tasted starbursts I ALWAYS choose pink because that shit is DELICIOUS. Like, Orange starburst?? Lol gtfoh. Women who say they want an orange star burst only say that because they've never tasted pink starbursts. They've only SEEN starbursts, in movies and tv and BS like that.
Having said that, its on you to develop your game, (by self investing, growing and strengthening your social network, and reading as well as practicing theory with your wingman) so that it becomes effortless to demonstrate the value that YOU have, the qualities that YOU possess, the qualities that SHE wants. Lean into who you are. Who you are is great. Who you are is a goddamn delicious pink fucking starburst. Make those mouths water bro

I'm 5'3" and never had much luck with the ladies. Height definitely matters. However, I will say this: although I'm not Brad Pitt over here or some shit I do still have a small window of opportunity with certain women able to get past the height stuff. Some women can be very forgiving.

It’s a disadvantage just like any other area, but not the end all be all. I have been 6’5” since I was about 17, and I used to get constant rejections from girls because I made no significant effort to look better or improve my confidence. I was a skinnyfat, lanky kid with social anxiety and average looks. I never got laid once just because I was tall, and didn’t lose my virginity until my early 20s after working super hard at the gym.
I think all of us are prone to thinking in a “grass is greener” kind of way: If only I were taller, more fit, more confident, THEN I wouldn’t get rejected. The truth is, if you’re a guy, you’re going to face a lot of rejection.
Stop focusing on the things you can’t change about yourself, and start putting in maximum effort to focus on what you can change.
It’s not fair that I was born taller and a lot of men were born shorter, but complaining about the unfairness will get you nowhere.

I used to think it was the most important thing ever. But my two best friends who are both 191cm (6'3") don't have much luck with girls because they have very awkward personalities and their height does not make up for it. They even make both make great money and even that isn't good enough to make up for their personalty lol.

It is important to persons for wich it is important. For me it does not matter. It is important to the same persons for wich it is important what car you drive, how much money you have and what others think of you. If you want this kind of people in your life, it is important. If not, then it is not. Sorry for bad english.

The very odd thing about girls is that if you are ugly/short/bald/etc. whatever, if you have the confidence to completely not let that stop you, it's almost like you are MORE attractive than a guy who is tall and inherently good looking.
The reason is because the contrast. If you are okay with youtself despite all of these roadblocks then you stand out WAY more than a guy who is tall, because his confidence comes from a place of ease yet he's never had to contend with anything.

No, confidence it's where it's at. Sadly ...
[–]Tidalheat 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
For the young and insecure it sure seems to matter. It's one of those arbitrary "requirements" for some people. Just like breast size, eye color, hair color, skin tone etc. It only matters until we mature enough to realize it doesn't. I'm getting older, and call me crazy, but I'm at a point that none of that matters at all.
