Hold the fuck on here.

She's a lawyer right? Like she went to law school, graduated, and got a job with the supreme court. So that makes her a lawyer. As such, she should know the rights and wrongs of being a lawyer, and the legal system in general.

She goes on to say this:

We were taught Blackstone’s Ratio, “it is better that 10 guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer”. Although I do not refute the premise itself, we live in a world where a survivor of sexual assault who bravely takes the witness stand will be subject to an even more traumatic line of questioning. To instil reasonable doubt, a cloud is cast over her character, her integrity… her purity.

I was heartbroken, but I was ready to wage war.

So the complaint, from an actual lawyer, is "People are innocent until proven guilty, and I dont like that because it means we have to doubt an accuser at first."

This is an ACTUAL LAWYER saying this!

[–]hottake_toothache 157 points158 points159 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Men are disposable to her, so she doesn't want them to be presumed innocent.

[–]Mythandros 92 points93 points94 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Typical hateful little feminist.

[–]BrokeMacMountain 30 points31 points32 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

i have been on marches with female friends, agasint abuse between lesbians.

we live in a world where a survivor of sexual assault who bravely takes the witness stand

and that survivor may well have suffered at the hands of a woman. But lets not consider that at all.

And also, I agree with your main point that a suppoed lawyer is complaing about the first rule of law. Innocent until PROVEN guilt.

[–]booyah2[S] 73 points74 points75 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You can see why she's only consulting now haha!

[–]ImplodedPotatoSalad 20 points21 points22 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

She's a female and a feminist first - ideology over law. Well...what to expect?

[–]Patches0h00lihan 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Wasn't it AOC that said something along the lines of, "We shouldn't worry about what's objectively correct so much as what's morally correct." I always remember that because it might just be the single most female thing I've ever heard.

[–]NohoTwoPointOh 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Fealz over realz.

And of course, they are the sole arbiters of morality.

[–]Yithar 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

So the complaint, from an actual lawyer, is "People are innocent until proven guilty, and I dont like that because it means we have to doubt an accuser at first."

I mean, that's the ONLY way the system is fair. Sure, someone like Bill Cosby deserves to be in jail, but the system isn't perfect and you can't convict everyone who's guilty without convicting the innocent as well.

[–]TheDwiin 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

To be fair, the Cosby case isn't because there's no evidence, but because they made the whole cases based on evidence they promised not to use, his admission, denying him his rights.

If another victim were to come forth and provide evidence, AND they didn't use the evidence from the case he was aquitted of, he can still end up in jail.

[–]Yithar 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Originally there wasn't enough evidence, and that's why the DA told him they wouldn't convict him so at least the victim would get something out of a civil case. So that's what I was referring to by no evidence. Originally there was no evidence, and afterwards the evidence was only there because the DA told him they wouldn't go after him.

[–]TheDwiin 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There was no evidence for the one victim he admitted to. Then when more stepped forward, some with evidence, they used his admission against him against the agreement.

[–]red_philosopher 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Might as well convict everyone :) it's pretty much like that as it is. There are so many lines in the codes of law, that it would take you more than your entire life to read all of it. Hundreds of thousands of pages of arcane legalese that outline what you can and cannot do, supplemented by untold millions of pages of legal opinions, doctrine, and decisions about what a particular law means. And it is so far reaching and obscure that I can virtually guarantee that anyone could be put away in a box for the rest of their natural lives.

The law makes everyone guilty. There is no escaping it.

[–]Tybackwoods00 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Her: “Your honor my client pleads guilty”

Client: “No No I said not guilty”

Her: “the plea remains guilty your honor”

Also her: “I wonder why I can’t get any new cases, must be the patriarchy”

[–]RunawayGrain 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A lawyer associate of mine told me she started out with a similar mindset. Basically she went in having only female clients and championing women.

The women, more often than not, didn't pay the bill, even when they won settlements or divorces cases. She almost went bankrupt and started taking a few male clients. They paid up, even if they lost. Eventually the stuff the male clients were facing also started to stare her in the face.

The end result was that it started impacting her mental health and she retooled her practice into real estate law.

[–]rabel111 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She believes all female "survivors" have integrety and purity? What kind of activist law did she study?

Her attitude appears to rest on the premise that being a good feminist and achieving equality should have delivered rewards rather than burdens.

Perhaps she should reassess her understanding of the patriarchy myth, and the so-called male privilege now dhe has had a taste of it.

[–]killcat 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well yes, in a number of countries they are changing the law, or at least how trials are conducted, to avoid "re-traumatizing the victim" by preventing cross examination, or giving evidence by per-recorded video, see also "affirmative consent".

[–]NohoTwoPointOh 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

American and Canadian family courts are filled with people like this.

[–]TheDwiin 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm sure she only thinks this when women are the acussers and men the acused. If a man accused a woman of said violence, I bet she would demand that he prove it without a reasonable doubt.

Your "feelings" didn't like what she wrote, so you decided to not believe what was literally in front of your eyes.

And that my friends, is the basis of so many false rape and sexual abuse allegations.

[–]McFeely_Smackup 15 points16 points17 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

that's a direct quote from the article, I don't know what your agenda is but it doesn't seem honest.

Undergraduate is 4 years, Law school is an additional 3. And she's 26, apparently been out of school for just over 1 year...and is already burned out on "fighting the patriarchy from the inside"

It seems like she's expecting success, power, and wealth to come to her without doing the work. Something tells me she's going to be a stay-at-home wife as soon as she can arrange it, at which point she'll talk about her days conquering the patriarchy.

[–]braucifur 42 points43 points44 points 4 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

^This. This is why corporate America has a huge retention "problem" with women and has all of these programs to try to support them, feed their ego & retain them.

The underlying reality is most women that are able to bail on the corporate rat race as soon as possible do so. Often it involves marrying a male coworker that earns more than them as soon as they are able to & having kids.

Or others fully intend to return back to the workplace after having kid(s) prior to actually having them then changing course once kids come along because kids change everything.

It's funny watching young women pre-kids attitudes being programmed by all of the neo-liberal MSM propaganda that they can have it all then marriage & kids come along and the complete 180 they do within a matter of a year or two.

The women that stick it out in corporate America are mostly those who do not have decent bread winner husbands at home so really depend on their income for survival. As such they are forced to develop masculine traits like hyper competitiveness & see others as their competition including, newsflash, even other women. Many young naive women are dumbfounded at this because the propaganda in our society has been so great and they have lapped it all up.

40% of female college graduates drop out of the work force. For Medical Doctors it's 40% within 6 years of starting practicing medicine.

When we have a majority of medical school slots occupied by women, and almost half of going to drop out of practicing medicine, it's easy to see we've got a HUGE problem coming.

[–]ajakefromstatefarmm 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Holy fuck this is scary. I have already heard about nurse shortages being an issue.

[–]McFeely_Smackup 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Doctors dropping out of practicing medicine should terrify everyone. I'll go so far as to say it should have significant penalties attached.

This is a public health issue, not simply a personal choice

[–]HPUnicorn 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I read a few years ago that the UK was considering having a certain percentage of seats designated as MALE in medical school because they realize that a seat that has a female doctor attached to it will produce far less hours of work over a lifetime than one with a male attached to it.

[–]McFeely_Smackup 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I honestly don't know what the answer is here.

[–]ajakefromstatefarmm 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think our government should treat healthcare as they would a war. Because it will threaten our society's very foundation if they don't. Mental illness is through the roof and then we have the pandemic...A house built on sinking sand will not stand.

[–]booyah2[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Probably spent $1 million subsidising a doctor's residency and education only to have them drop out at 30 when the baby rabies hits.

Great use of the taxpayers funds.

[–]braucifur 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Another issue with the shortage of physicians is the AMA restricting the number of seats in medical school. There's your bottleneck: it's a lobbying organization to restrict the supply of new physicians to keep their wages high.

I recently went due to COVID. None of the hot, ultra-tight scrub types were on deck. Not a single one. It was all seasoned pros.

[–]Felarhin 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Angryasfk 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The Australian system doesn’t work like that. I think most law schools (not sure about ANU) now take school leavers! It’s not normal to do an undergraduate degree and then a postgraduate one in law like in the US. However to actually become a lawyer you need to have done your “articles” (ie become an article clerk), and then become a solicitor after a year.

She is full of it though, and doesn’t like the 70 work week, and blames “the patriarchy” and “capitalism” (what a two faced fraud). I think she’ll just quit, and then there’ll be complaints as to why she didn’t become a partner when her male colleague who didn’t quit did.

[–]DigitalisEdible 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The system churns these people out and they believe that men have everything handed to them on a plate. They look at successful men and think that “the patriarchy” lets men just walk in to success and wealth. Nobody ever mentions that successful men work their asses off, they sacrifice, struggle and suffer. They work long hours week after week, for years. Everyone talks about how men have all the money and power, but nobody talks about the struggle it takes to get there. This is why women like this are completely clueless.

Women are handed everything they need to get along in life, men are not. The suffering to accomplish is what builds a man, it gives us the resolve to fight for our lives every single day until we die. It’s why so many men end up being successful.

[–]Basketballjuice 44 points45 points46 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I mean hey, I'd love to be a house husband. More power to women if they want to take on the more difficult role of the provider.

[–]braucifur 43 points44 points45 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They won't though. They will publicly virtue signal that there is nothing wrong with that, but for them personally they will not settle for men who make less than them by & large. Same thing with guys that aren't at least 3-4" taller than them.

I get a laugh when I see women approaching 40 on these apps that are on the tall side say 5'11" and they say in their profile pic please be as tall or taller than them. Okay lady you are going to be single for your entire life.

[–]tacticalslacker 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]SkullAngel001 38 points39 points40 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I wanted to be proud, but my future felt bleak, and I was ashamed. My job wasn’t, and isn’t, the problem.

It was that I had fallen into the trap of using other people’s perceptions of success to define my own. I was “making it” in a man’s world.

In other words, men and the Patriarchy literally had nothing to do with your depression. Your entire article is basically asking your fellow feminists to find something/anything that could be twisted to conform to your rhetoric that you're desperately trying to preserve.

The key take away, “My personal choices and priorities aren’t why I’m unhappy, it’s the Patriarchy!” Personal accountability, responsibility, and consequences are foreign to these people when their lifestyle isn’t everything they dreamed of, it must be someone else’s fault they are unsatisfied with life.

The article is her crying like a bitch about having to put in the same work men lawyers have to put in, and a few tidbits of feminist bullshit propaganda sprinkled in. Such as assuming that why the ratio of accused to convicted is because fuckin patriarchy. It's pathetic, unless all that is some brilliant satire.

I'm sure we could hug it out. Anyway, the point the author is making is that she always thought that success in the workplace was equivalent to achieving everything feminism said was success. But here she is, very successful (and has worked hard for it) and she doesn't feel like she has succeeded in making gains from a feminist standpoint. She just feels like a tired worker. By stating that she believes many sexual assault victims don't find justice, she is suggesting that achieving success in the business world while there are bigger issues (sexual assault) is a hollow victory. This is why she feels lost. The sense accomplishment she thought would be there is not there at all, when she was lead to believe that it would be. So she is re-evaluating what "success" is in feminism and why she has landed so far from it.

But there is absolutely nothing in here about wanting to be CEO and not working for it.

[–]waldopizzacats 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

She’s clearly clueless if Gillard’s rant opened her eyes to anything other than Gillard trying to claim any attack on her was “misogyny”! She was, and is, an appalling woman.

[–]Humes-Bread -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]Nath43673 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

From the article:

The machinations of patriarchy necessitate the exploitation of everything that isn’t male.

Hang on. Maybe a feminist can correct me, but I thought the current idea was that "the patriarchy hurts men too"? Aren't men being exploited by its machinations? Men represent the majority of wage slaves, and have for all of recent history.

Or is this just further evidence that "the patriarchy" is a poor concept (and poor terminology) for explaining the legacy of gender roles and expectations affecting both men and women.

[–]Angryasfk 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She’s just a “woe is me because I’m a woman” type. Australia has had a slew of women leaders who, when caught out or under attack (normal politics) immediately retreat being “they’re only attacking me because I’m a woman” and “you can’t speak to me like that because I’m a woman” and “I’m just a poor helpless woman, leave me alone”. Gillard’s rant was one example. And here she is: anyone who isn’t male is “exploited by the patriarchy”, as if any man working in that role wouldn’t be doing those sort of hours at least, especially if they wanted to get ahead! A good friend of mine does that. At the peak, on a good week he’d get 20 hours sleep. Something tells me she does better than that! But hey, she only has to work 70 hours a week because she’s a woman!

No wonder her boyfriend broke up with her.

Let's be honest, the real crime in this article was the mother naming her kid Edwina.

[–]CatManDontDo 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Whenever I see a name like that I generally give parents a pass because naming a kid is fucking hard.

It's also possibly a family name.

[–]booyah2[S] 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you ever have a daughter, name her Dorothy it's the right thing to do.

[–]jockey10 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think they can still do better than "Edwina". Even "Gertrude" would be a step up 🤣

[–]anthologyxxviii 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yeah you can definitely tell that she is avoiding some kind of inconvenient truth. I partially feel bad for people that think like this. It is not easy to have your perspective changed when your mind works like this, and if you can’t recognize reality then you’re bound to have a tough and miserable life.

[–]Angryasfk 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She fell hook, line and sinker for Gillard’s self serving whine. And still obviously believes it. It’s clearly wilful.

I love the way she had to throw in her bf breaking up with her! All men are trash I suppose! As if women don’t to that all the time! It’s quite likely she’s ditched guys too.

However my sympathy for her disappears given she’s the sort that is responsible for the bad laws and corporate policies: she’s one of the go to’s for being more “female friendly” and how bad a woman’s lot is.

[–]braucifur 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If she's too stubborn to be introspective and see through the propaganda society writ large improves when she doesn't reproduce. We need people reproducing that aren't easily subject to this sort of statist egalitarian there are no differences between the genders propaganda.

[–]braucifur 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hopefully by the time she discovers the error of her ways she is too old to reproduce. These people need to be bred out of the gene pool and cautionary tales for young girls that if they make the same choices that this woman did, that cats need homes too.

[–]armaadi 36 points37 points38 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

She is coming face to face with the fact that change in society isn't a colorful, glorious revolution. It's a slow steady, one day at a time shuffle towards a goal.

If she wants more powerful women in society, she has to be that powerful woman. Feminism told her to fight and smash the patriarchy, but feminism didn't tell her it would take millions of women doing boring ass office work for decades to shift the wage gap 5% more in women's favor.

She was promised a battle and got a war or attrition...against men who have been waging this war for millenia. Men have been competing against men for forever, and now women are realizing that the struggle I'm the money making world isn't glorious.

It's boring and monotonous.

[–]karmaman12345 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly, she wants to have the money and success of being a CEO, but doesn’t realize that it takes time. You have to treat the company as your own child, when something happens you have to show up, no matter what time it is. She can’t handle that though, and when she realized how draining a 70/hr work week is she went crying back to her echo chamber. Exactly what you’d expect from someone like her.

[–]EmptinessWithin 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Turns out the man's man's world is boring. Women most affected!

[–]Felarhin 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well I can't speak for everyone but I'm not battling at all. I pretty much contribute the least amount possible and if women want corporate power then go for it. I'll just say be careful what you wish for.

[–]Angryasfk 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And when it doesn’t work out as you expected it will be men’s fault!

[–]DanteLivra 38 points39 points40 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

feminism and corporate success are inextricably linked.

She clearly never read any original feminists text. 1st wave feminism was all about being anti-capitalism lmao.

[–]booyah2[S] 39 points40 points41 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

It always amazes me that feminism convinced women that wasting their most valuable years working 70 hour work weeks as a wage slave for usually a White male CEO (That they all hate so much) is better than raising children with a partner that you love.

[–]GivePuppiesBazookas 21 points22 points23 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The older I get the more I feel women really are of "cake and eat it too" mentality by nature. Every guy I know basically knows life completely changes when they have a kid, which is why most of us who are childless avoid them. Not because we hate kids, because it limits other areas of your life GREATLY.

Same with working 70 hours a week, those extra 30 hours HAVE TO come from somewhere. You can have, one, or the other, or balance them, you can't always just have both because you want both. Sure, you can, but then you are doing two things (say raising a family and working full time) full time which is going to burn just about any human being out and eat away at your "me time" like nothing else could. It's called picking your poison.

[–]Broadside_Beers 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Dr Warren Farrell observes that by and large women are predisposed to “Free Choice”, essentially, that women love having choice but want nothing to do with consequences. To anyone that has researched the last 150+ years of feminism this hardly comes as a surprise. Certainly isn’t surprising that this lady in the OP’s linked article refuses to be accountable for her actions and choices too.

You can hear Farrell and Peterson talking about this and a bunch of other things related here: https://youtu.be/8AA1lR3CC4s

Highly recommend it.

[–]throwawayddf 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Bonus points for being a shit mom then but at least you can live the dream (nightmare to me more like but whatever floats your boat)

[–]Billy-Batdorf 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No it wasn't. '1st wave feminists' were land-owning wealthy women exploiting capital to it's fullest.

[–]DanteLivra 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It depends on your definition of "1st wave" to be honest.

[–]the_leander 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So, like most self proclaimed socialists, including Marx himself then?

Socialism is an invention of middle class fuckwitts who are jealous of the elites and the landed gentry that would use legitimate working class issues to wage a war that would see them put into power.

[–]rbrockway 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In Nineteen Eighty-Four George Orwell posited that this is the trajectory of every revolution. The middle uses the low to depose the high so that they can replace them. Eventually a new middle forms (from the low and high) and the process repeats.

[–]KICKERMAN360 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The issues relating to overworking and the "70 hour" work week are entirely NOT a gender issue. Notwithstanding, unless she has some whack-ass contract, she should be entitled to some crazy over time or loading.

More like, "woman who gets broken up with realises SHE isn't all she is cracked up to be"!

[–]tacticalslacker 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Fucking sucks to get treated like a man with those 70 hour work weeks, amirite? 🤡🤦🏼‍♂️

[–]karmaman12345 12 points13 points14 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Once again, rich men =/= all men, of course rich CEO types are going to tell you that there’s nothing more fulfilling than an 80/hr work week, because it benefits them to squeeze as much work as possible from each employee. That’s not an issue with the patriarchy, that’s an issue with the rich CEO types that convinced so many people that it was true. It’s no more a man’s idea of success than it is her’s.

[–]mgtowolf 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

People seem to forget that a majority of CEO's are also working like dogs, and slogged their way to the top working like everyone working under them....... Sure, every once in a while that's not the case, but people act like most CEO's are only there because they were born white, good looking, rich, and with a massive cock or something. They either built the company from the ground up, or worked their ass to the top.

[–]karmaman12345 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Exactly, Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos don’t spend all their time at home playing games or hanging out with friends, they work, that’s their hobby. That’s how they got to where they are. To be a CEO you treat your company like a newborn baby. It doesn’t matter that it’s 3am, there’s a problem so go fix it. If you can’t handle that then CEO isn’t meant for you.

[–]ImplodedPotatoSalad 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. Musk works for fucking SIXTEEN hours a day, 7 days a week.

SIXTEEN. NO breaks, NO days off. He literally lives working and sleeping, alternativelly.

Meanwhilez feminist girlie throws a fit each time at my work, when she is given any taks that she deems "below her". No kidding.

And I cant even fire her. Gender quota, lol.

[–]otterlyclueless 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

That's terrible. It's been proven over and over that after a certain number of hours of work, your ability to do anywhere near your best is gone.

For mental jobs, it's 6 hours before brain burnout for the day.

After that, you get progressively worse and worse mental ability every hour after.

16 hour days are not good for anyone.

[–]ImplodedPotatoSalad 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Not exactly healthy, but thats a man with a mission and a drive. Ive yet to see a female/feminist with same drive at their work, with similar results.

Hey, local feminists, want to be financial top dog of the world? Go do that level of real work commitment (not "emotional work" LOL) instead of bitching about "evil patriarchy" limiting you, lets see if you can cut it :V

You cant, and even if you could - you will not. And you know it.

[–]otterlyclueless 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Did you see my comment about women leaders doing more emotional labor? They claim it makes them better leaders.

[–]ImplodedPotatoSalad 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]djc_tech 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So she fought hard to be able to work and have a career like a man. So now she is working hard and is basically doing all the things men do every day and she doesn’t like it? Did she just expect things handed to her?

[–]IronJohnMRA 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminism promised women independence, they never told them it was a one way trip.

[–]usku 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So because most men have to do this, and most of us don’t mind the money, and don’t find the work hard, it’s the patriarchy’s fault cause women struggle doing it?

Wtf.

[–]donhuff23 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She is not a good lawyer. We live in an adversarial system. This means several things: 1. The accuser is the state and only the state has that authority. 2. The defense is there to make sure the police have met their burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt. 3. We live in an imperfect system filled with testosterone and lipstick.
4. Eyewitness testimony is only 30% accurate at best. The human mind functions by focusing on those things necessary for survival first, mating second, leisure third. In order to work, it must filter out a lot of inconsequential stuff. This could be an important clue that wasn’t important to the witness at that point in time. 5. The development of modern scientific instrumentation and techniques make jailing the innocent less likely. But it comes at a cost of privacy. AND in the case of sexual assault, the evidence needed to successfully and correctly prosecute a case requires further intimate invasion by medical personnel. I am a man, but I can imagine the last thing I really want is further personal violation. 6. I agree he victim of a sexual assault has a rough road ahead. We are making inroads to almost absolutely identifying the rapist far far beyond any unreasonable doubt. - we know precisely who it is. - But only if we obtained some of his/her DNA somehow. So we increase the rape conviction rate at the expense pf casting an even wider net to force innocent individuals to give up some of their DNA.

The epitome of female entitlement and arrogance, with a big dose of misandry. Uncritically accepts all unfounded and baseless feminist men-shaming falsehoods.

Also a perfect example of why feminism makes women unhappier and unhappier. Feminism is as much a curse on women as it is on men.

[–]otterlyclueless 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I just read an article claimong women do twice as much work as men do as eladers because they do emotional labor for their employees.

Ot never says which employees though so I am betting it is the women under them and not the men. The men are just expected to manage all that themselves.

It's absolutely ridiculous to claim women are better leaders for doing more emotional labor and not the rest of leadership requirements.

If she and other females wanted to become empowered, they would all fight against this neofeudalistic wage slavery by fighting kleptocratic elites who own many things internationally. But so far, this world has become an Orwellian and a dark place, especially during the pandemic from what I experienced. It's not only about patriarchy even though patriarchal governments exist in some countries. It's about people allowing greed, corruption, and chaos to ensue without much critical thinking and taking accountability for their actions efficiently. People who don't let others have fair access to education, healthcare, intellectual freedom, free speech, online privacy rights, job opportunities, money, and power are considered tyrants. This woman "fighting the patriarchy" is just distracting herself from objective reality. I'm not surprised if she lives in America. America was founded on slavery for elites, warmongering genocide (which fuels toxic masculinity at the expense of men's well-being significantly because of P.T.S.D. and physical disabilities caused by war), misogynistic religion that makes trillions of dollars (while these Christian "feminists" are having contrarian belief systems that make them be a joke), anti-intellectualism (which makes entertainment and sports be more important than critical thinking in America), etc. Which is why chaos and insanity ensue in America inevitably. Which is why females and males will continue to be treated horribly in America if they are not rich and/or famous. This woman is just waking up to harsh reality. And I wouldn't be surprised if she got a poor quality education in America before graduating from high school. Because she doesn't seem fully prepared for the real world after graduating. If she does live in America, then her attitude is proving American civilization has collapsed many decades ago.

[–]Angryasfk 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She’s a corporate consultant! She is, or is seeking to be one of those “kleptocratic elites”, but is whining that there’s a lot of work to climb the greasy pole and can’t understand why her boyfriend wouldn’t want to stay with an entitled narcissist.

No wonder she became a feminist. And typically it’s still men’s fault.

[–]Angryasfk 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Woman works in a so-called men’s field and does the 70 hours a week in a high pressure environment as they do. And her analysis? Every who ISN’T a man gets exploited! So it’s terrible for her to do these hours and have the pressure but it’s fine for men.

That’s what it has to do with “men’s rights”! This is the mentality we’re up against.

[–]Broadside_Beers 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You don’t think that the widespread and harmful fairy tale of “the patriarchy”, and discussion of people (especially people involved in law!) who propagate that lie it is relevant to men’s rights?

Okay.

[–]Angryasfk 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She claims it’s only women who get screwed over. She literally said anyone who isn’t a man (ie women) is screwed over => men aren’t. This is the mentality we’re facing.
