Man this reminds me of a woman I know. She divorced her husband because "He was boring." Meanwhile dude kept a roof over their head and provided for her and their special needs child. I've never met him but he sounds like a damn legend. So she found a guy "more exciting" they partied and did crazy shit until she got hurt really bad one night while they were partying. Suddenly she needed someone to take care of her and support her because she needed to have like 10 surgeries to put her hand back together. Mr. Exciting cheats on her and dips out. She spirals and gains a shit load of weight and the ex lets her stay in the spare room of their old house. Even says if she is willing they can try to work things out. She won't even though the only reason she isn't homeless is because of his generosity. Fast forward 4 years now and she has had a dozen failed relationships and is still single living in a shit little condo. She's now so miserable to be around her friends just made a new group chat without her to keep her from finding out about the New Years party.

This resonates with me. Recently started talking to a girl who was enthusiastic to date me and she asked me out. We were supposed to go on a date this Sunday but she cancelled on Sunday morning. When I asked her why? She told me her friends didn't approve of me because I'm short and not attractive enough. I later found out she went out with a Chad she had been pursuing before meeting me who only uses her for sex and she still keeps pursuing him. I'm 55 and I can't find someone and I'm ready. Unfortunately, I need somebody with a PhD level brain, although I've dated PhDs and found them to be one trick ponies.

One woman I dated had her PhD in, of all things, epidemiology and became a pediatric allergy specialist. She had recently retired and spent her days reading medical journals and answering email. Once we stop talking about the genetics of the COVID-19 virus as well as the lack of hallmarks for genetic engineering and probable vector routes in the pandemic, there was nothing left to talk about. She literally did nothing else and had no taste. Her decorations all were out of a catalog as were her clothes. Prepackaged lifestyle.

I dated a woman who spent 8 months in Antarctica and built robots who was, amazingly attractive, but we couldn't find anything else in common to do other than have sex, which was not enough for her because she had been away for 8 months, and The rebooted Doctor Who. Again, not much depth.

My college girlfriend became an ER doctor. I was first attracted to her because she was an artist who played piano, but she gave everything up to pursue academia to the point where she became an automaton.

In short, I'm way too picky, but if I don't find somebody who can keep me interested, I turn off and when they start approaching me about being unemotional, I start to resent them, so I break up with them.

I need a woman who can tell me to shut up, sit down, and tell me 10 things I don't know.
