I think women’s preferences are more varied than men’s. Men’s preferences are pretty consistent for young, thin, feminine features, long hair, big boobs, Barbie type women. Of course there are exceptions and some room for individual preferences, but you just don’t see men drooling over unconventional looking actresses the way women do with unconventional actors. It’s just that men will fuck a chicken sandwich if that’s what’s available. Just because men will go “hogging” sometimes doesn’t make their taste more varied. The women they actually are attracted to and value all look about the same.

There is more consensus for what men find attractive. Why do you think plastic surgery is way more common among women? If a certain look wasn’t popular for attracting men I don’t think so many women would be getting plastic surgery. Like why do young women choose to get breast implants? Or Brazilian butt lift?

Y’all complain a lot about height standards here but even that doesn’t appear to be a consensus on what attracts women. Most women have a wide range of heights they find attractive.

I think I’m picky because I’d always prefer short guys and there’s not that many guys in my ideal height range.

According to this study very short people (5’4’’ men and 4’11’’ women) have less partners on average. Otherwise it’s similar for guys

I don’t see why it shouldn’t be discussed. Physically, some women would prefer a tall man with a dad bod than a short, jacked guy. Some women would prefer a guy who works out even if he is shorter if his face looks pretty good too, etc. Women’s standards vary too, although perhaps not as dramatically as men’s.

As a woman I’d say I have pretty varied physical interests in men. I’ve had a crush on all types of races, all body types(excluding skinny or obese), and all heights. I’d say pretty consistently though I like a strong man, who’s broad and wide. I can’t speak for all women, but a lot I’ve talked to say that they either don’t care about six packs or find them to be a turn off and I would agree. Not saying that there aren’t women who probably fixate on that, but I don’t think it’s that much of an importance to women as it is made out to be in this sub and in the manosphere

Not true. Women do have varied types. Womens attraction ranges from effeminate twinks to rugged, muscle houses. How this plays out socially is a different story and there's a multitude of reasons why some women only go for a specific type. One being because it's much more socially acceptable. And men in general dont have as much option for diversity in beauty.

Men being anything other than a buzz cut with muscles is considered feminine, therefore "bad". And that is something both the sexes reinforce but its likely started by straight male gaze that decided only women should be beautiful and men should be plain and not stand out, for their looks at least... strength is ok.

I think as more and more women create art and are involved in positions of power and influence, you're going to start seeing a shift here with womens dating preferences broadening from one set physical criteria.

Women are insecure because men are very vocal about their preferences. Young girls are bullied all the time for their looks, while boys don't experience it a lot, it's usually their attitude makes them target (back in the days the most active bullies in my class were short guys, both worn glasses, still mocked girls with bad vision).

You don't see a lot of women outside of FDS discussing how top tier male actors and models are ugly. If anything women like Mads Mikkelsen or Battlefield Overwatch who are anything but traditionally attractive, while most men have crush on the same blonde-blue-eyes-skinny-white actress. However, even this actress will recieve a lot of comments that she is 3/10 at best, too fat or too thin, too old or whatever, because on top of having different tastes men also have an unstoppable urge to express their opinion.

I'm not hot. I'm pretty average facially. My body isn't bad, but its not that great either. I'm not short but I'm not super tall either. I've been rejected by women on the physical level many many times.

But I am a type apparently. For women who I am thier type they are really into me.

Based on my 20 years of casual sex as a hobby, women are the more likely ones to have a varied standards.

I think we don’t wanna admit how much we are influenced by the media. I’d argue that part of the “varied” standards are mostly due to the beauty industry constantly reimagining what is beautiful in order to keep us(woman) hooked.

I’m only 25 but I remember as a teen in the early 2000s being skinny was “in.” being as skinny as possible was the goal and that was what was “hot” and that’s what was everywhere and that’s what most guys wanted, in highschool

Now I joke about this but like I do really thank “God” everyday that being thick is in style because while I’m literally slightly overweight according to BMI I have been lucky because it mostly in my butt thighs and boobs which has become a lot more desirable in the past few years.

So nowadays I get a lot of attention that I probably wouldnt have gotten if the media didn’t kind of portray the Kim k style.

I’d argue that men are not as big of a target for the beauty industry so there isn’t as much innovation. A good lookin guy in the media has pretty much stayed the same since even the 50s maybe and that’s why I feel like there’s a lot less variation in “type.” do think that now media is much more into showing all types of woman than all types of men and that’s really harmful to y’all’s self esteem.

However as a woman like me, I don’t love that my body is a trend. Because I’m sure one day it will pass and I’ll just be chubby again 🤷🏻‍♀️

Womens types aren't just the body, it also includes your attitude and style and clothes and whatever. And you need the complete package to get near the top of your type.

For example: it's not just skinny lanky dudes, it's skinny lanky dudes with tattoos who wear a lot of edgier clothes and have an edgier hairstyle and they're very spontaneous and into enjoying life to the fullest even if it means breaking social convention to do something fun. That's...a type, not just skinny lanky.

The fact that this is even being debated is honestly hysterical. People have varied tastes and it has absolutely nothing to do with gender, race, birth sex or any other qualifier you want choose.

Human beings are incredibly complex and there simply is nothing close to a one size fits all rule. To suggest otherwise is simply bitterness and because of the aforementioned complexity to human beings, I won’t even begin with to guess where that bitterness comes.

Not true. Different men have different amount of natural body mass the ability to drop and put on weight at relative ease of difficulty different height different leg to waste arm ratio.

Two men that are both at the same height and at the same weight from two different ethnicities are going to have different body types 6'2 black dude who's 205 lb with 7% fat looks different from a 6'2 white dude who weighs 205 pounds that have 10% fat is different muscle mass different chest size.

What's true is what makes a man look attractive is generally the same across multiple groups given their variant ability to have that look with ease which means generally women find men that are slim but physically fit and taller than them attractive generally with Aquiline or long straight noses (Greek Nose).

It's not as varied as you think. If you survey men from 15-75 years old, they are near universally going to find the same traits attractive. Some men prefer asses, some prefer tits. Some prefer blondes, some redheads. These are, by no means, "standards." They're preferences. Very, very few men actively prefer fat women to fit/slim women outside of fetishists. He doesn't view fat women as hitting the jackpot, he needs his attraction reciprocated. The guy who swipes on fat girls is still swiping on fit girls, too.

Some guys even talk themselves out of it. When I was a teenager I developed a preference for petite women, and I'm genuinely into petite women still. I didn't have issues with girls either. That being said, I'm 5'8" on a good day, so how much of that preference was a mental trick to avoid rejection from taller women?

Much of the time, men lie to themselves about their preferences, e.g. "more cushion for the pushin"" when in reality, they know they can't get with attractive women in the back of their minds, and their pride won't let them admit it.

I'm not sure what you're even arguing. Some men have high standards in a healthy way (like having boundaries, or knowing what they're not attracted to), some men have high standards in an unhealthy way (like wanting women to perform sex acts on command or she "doesn't love you"), some men have low standards in the RP "DGAF" way and have lots of sex because they're perceived as chill, some men have low standards and have very little sex because they're seen as losers who have very little to offer.

I don't see people accusing men of having high standards too often, though. Women get accused of it more often. Men seem to mostly get accused of having low standards ie "men would live in a card board box" "men never get hair cuts or wear fashionable clothes" ect.

(obvs, generalizations are usually pretty stupid, but lets be accurate on what's getting thrown around here.)

Women need to understand the hot guy that's using you for sex probably has the same opinion as the not-so-hot-guy about you. If you're not physically attractive, no one's gonna' sugarcoat that for you, not even the guys who wouldn't sleep with you.
