Mixed feelings about this meme. Yes, you can be replaced at work. But if your "home" is with a man you can be replaced there too. I would argue a lot of jobs are less likely to replace you than a man is and more likely to benefit you for a longer time. Thoughts?

I get what your saying and I agree. Its like widowers who remarry before their deceased wife is even cold or men who cheat on their pregnant/sick wives because they aren’t getting laid enough and lets not get started on men who abandon their sick wives. Essentially, its important to make sure you‘re loved and valued in ALL areas of life, including home, or you might as well spend 24/7 at work where at least your paid. Being single with family and friends is better than being with a romantic partner who finds you replaceable. Above all, self care and love is so crucial to your well-being.

Home is where you can be yourself. It's where you charge, where you heal, where you dream, where you are you. Doesn't really mean a man has to be there, or a family is to be there; can be only you or maybe your friends, or your pets. So I would still argue home is worth more, because it's ultimately your life's comfort abode where you can relax snuggled up with your comfort food. If it happens that your workplace is your home (not by coercion or necessity), than that's okay too.

I feel like we’re reading it at that “home” equals partnership with a man. At home I’m a dog and cat mom, I’m an artist, I’m a derby player and I’m a girlfriend. Being a gf is a very small part of that equation. It’s not healthy to have any parts of that balance out of wack whether it being your workplace dominating your life or the responsibilities of being a wife or partner.

"Home" does not necessarily imply a "man".

My home is manless (thanks god!) but is full of children, therefore this meme is very much on point to me.

However, if there's an average man in your home, you are just as replaceable. Prioritize work because it will save your ass when that scrote becomes useless/unbearable/suddenly desides he is too young and beautiful to be a famy man lol.

I think this picture was taken out of context. I recall seeing it on antiwork, and it’s more to do with anti-capitalism (not being a tradwife).

IMO this relates to family, especially children. Career is definitely important, but you should have work-life balance and never neglect your family over a job that may easily replace you.

I think the meme is about workaholics. People who will do everything for their jobs such as working overtime for insane hours and missing time with their family at home due to that. The work can fire them at any time and doesn't give a shit about them but they'll never be able to make up for the time they missed out on their family.

Based on the career I have and my track record with romantic prospects in my life, my career is likely to keep me for life or at least until I’m at the point I’d want to retire anyway. Romantic partners will toss you aside because they got bored one day. Regardless, I don’t trust anyone but myself, so I plan my life in such a way I am fine single and if I were to be let go from my job.

It has taken me a long time to get here and I am very lucky to have a great job in my field. My work has been a kind and supportive refuge to all the bad things in my home life, it makes me feel more loved, supported and happy than anything else.

You have different legal rights in each place. A wife’s rights can change for the better or worse with a prenup. Looking and applying for a new job can be annoying and stressful and not always fruitful right away, but at least you won’t be constantly objectified and propositioned for sex, as women are when they look for a new relationship/ husband online. Both can « leave » you, despite societal expectations, if you get sick. In your work it can be beneficial to job hop and constantly look for a better opportunity because the vast majority of companies don’t have your back whereas in marriage that’s not the goal but sadly you have to always be vetting

That meme made me think of children and how as their mother you’re not replaceable. I would never think a man wouldn’t replace me in a second, same as a job. But if you’re a mother then yeah, absolutely irreplaceable.
