In my dating experience, girls who have great relationships with their fathers have been amazingly pleasant to be with. And the girls who do not have good relationships with their fathers have not been as pleasant to be with. Notice I did not say one is better than the other nor did I say one was unpleasant.

But this is something I take into consideration in dating. I’m not judging a girl for something she can’t help, but I just don’t want to have to deal with baggage unless she’s sorted those things about.

But guys, how often do you find yourself being used as an emotional outlet for girls with bad father-daughter relationships? A girl cried on me on a date out in public because I expressed my lack of enthusiasm with how immodest she dressed for our date. Then she went on about how she didn’t feel loved and how her dad doesn’t love her. This was like our 2nd/3rd date. I did my best to make her feel better, and try to understand where she was coming from, but at the same time, I’ve got my own things going on that was some really heavy stuff. And she also liked to make assumptions and argue with me over the smallest thing that I found it impossible to communicate through disagreements.

I just don’t want to experience that again. And that isn’t the only example. A few weeks ago, a girl I was talking who came from not such a great home and had body image issues called me at night telling me she was at home alone and drunk and needed someone. Like wtf? A few years ago I would have been about that life, but I don’t want anything to do with a girl who throws away her body like that.

And by the way, hey, a girl can dress however she wants to dress. But I’m not dating a girl who can’t respect her feminine dignity. I don’t want the women I love to show off her body to strangers.

Guys, what are your thoughts on this? Are you timid about this and see this as a red flag?

For women, do you hold the same reservations?

It just seems to me of all the girls I know and have dated, the ones who come from good homes seem so much more loving, patient, peaceful, and kind. If not, they have all sorts of major red flags about them that ultimately you’ll have to decide whether or not they are with pursuing.
